Saskia (Past).
Should I follow her?
What was going on in the future that I created a timed portal?
After what happened to my friend Amira, I promised myself I wouldn’t create a portal again.
I tried to dig hard. I know myself. I wouldn’t do something like that for no big reason.
But what could possibly be the reason?
Ugh!
My head started to ache while thinking.
It was just a time portal though, not the same portal I created for Amira.
I should not worry too much. Besides, I had a lot of things to do. I should focus on those.
Tonight, the rarest golden moon would appear. It was the perfect time to gather all the ingredients I needed for the potion I was going to make.
Surely, she-wolves who were desperately trying to get pregnant would come to me again.
“Owie? Where are you? I need your help.”
I decided to come out of my house to find my familiar.
“Great! You picked the perfect time to disappear, Owie.”
And I completely forgot about the mysterious woman who appeared in my house. I focused on finding my cheeky familiar owl.
Laura.
It was not that hard to find my mom because she used to tell me what she usually did when I wasn't born yet.
And I was right!
She was just in her room, knitting a baby dress.
I instantly felt so emotional seeing her doing that. I remember how many knitted dresses, sweaters and bonnets I had before.
She badly wanted to have a child.
Don’t worry, Mom, two years from now, someone will use those beautiful dresses you knitted.
I decided to head to the balcony door of my parents' bedroom. It was easy for me to climb here since I already knew some tricks.
Blending with the pack members on the way here wasn’t hard though. I still had the same scent with them since I wasn’t cast out of the pack. I was still a member.
And the way they dressed this time was a big advantage for me because I could easily conceal myself.
While Mom was busy with her thing, I continued to knock. She quickly turned in my direction. And as expected, she was surprised to see me.
“Who are you?”
I signaled her to lower her voice. “Mom, please, don’t be too loud. Someone might hear us.”
Her golden eyes quickly turned fierce. “I don’t care! Someone should know a stranger is knocking… wait, what did you call me?”
“Mom…” My eyes started to grow misty.
It’d been a while since the last time I saw my parents after I was lowered down to being an Omega. And I really missed her.
I badly wanted to hug her and feel her warm embrace. I wanted to be cuddled by my mom again.
“I missed you, Mommy.”
I couldn’t help but let those feelings out. This feeling was overwhelming and I might burst if I didn’t let it out even a little.
Mixed emotions filled my mom’s face. I was certain she was confused yet, I know she recognized me by heart.
I could not blame her if she would not easily believe me. What kind of sane woman would believe a daughter of her age appeared in front of her when she hadn’t conceived yet?
“Mom, please! Open the door. We need to talk. I don’t have enough time, so please…”
“You better go now if you don’t want me to call for the guards of this pack and throw you out.”
I started to panic. Seeing Mom turn from being emotional to being firm, I knew she was serious.
“It’s me, your future daughter!” I tried my best to convince her. “I already spent hours here to come here, I don’t have enough time and I should go back to my time.”
“Stop spouting nonsense! How dare you take me for a fool!”
“Mom please! I time-traveled here to the past to help you conceive me. Aren’t you and Dad trying to get pregnant? You will conceive me two years from now. But the thing is, a big problem will occur. That’s why I risked coming here to warn you.”
Mom looked dumbfounded upon hearing everything I said. It seemed she was contemplating everything she just heard.
“Mom, you told me how you met Dad. And it was the most beautiful thing that happened to you. You quickly come with him to the Remus Pack right after he finds you. And regardless of the fact that your own pack—Night Forest Pack of the South—has disagreements with Remus Pack. Your union with Dad had become the bridge for the two packs to have a ceasefire. At first it was a silent truce but later came out to become allies.”
Mom showed a new set of emotions. This time, a great surprise weighed higher.
“T-They will become allies?” She couldn’t believe it.
I got a little confused.
“Well, definitely yes. Weren’t they? You said the two packs have had a silent truce for about five years. And when you give birth to me, the two packs announced their alliance, so…” Upon realizing the time, I quickly came to conclusions. “So, they were just having a truce for now but I bet Alpha Evo was silently having a good connection with the Alpha of your parent pack.”
To my surprise, Mom opened the door for me and let me in.
I quickly threw myself on her for a big hug. “It’s been a while, Mom. I missed you so much!”
Tears started to flow down my cheeks. I couldn’t help it. I’d been longing for this time, to be enveloped in her warm embrace.
“You smell like us,” she whispered.
I let her go to see her face. She subconsciously wiped away my tears. Somehow, I could tell she was worried sick upon seeing me crying.
I didn’t know how I knew that, but I thought I could share her feelings. She was utterly confused yet I felt her longing for something she could not understand.
What?!
I shared with her feelings?
How come I was able to do that? I hadn't done that with her before.
