Gathering at Levi's

The warriors and Leoma walked through the forest till they got to his gravel road that led to Levi’s home. Stepping over a stream that ran over the road, Leoma giggled. “This stream farther up the mountain is where some locals get their drinking water. It’s the best water.”

“Well then that’s what you will be drinking from now on, the mountain stream water. Only for my girl.” Galinn laughed as he teased her. He loved the way she talked about her home. As they approached the house Jed opened the door before they even got to the porch.

“I thought I heard you guys. Did you kill it? Is that why you guys are here?” Jed asked while walking onto the front porch.

“No, we think it’s still roaming around and we’re pretty sure it re-opened that hole in the boat hull we patched earlier. So, the boat pretty much is laying on its side.” Kalisto stood with his hands on his hips, looking around to make sure the Alp wasn’t running towards them as he was talking.

“No fucking way.” Jed said while he turned his head towards the inside of the home still holding the door open. “Hey Levi!” Jed yelled inside. “Get out here, everyone’s here!”

Walking out of the bedroom from checking on Rachel Levi waved to everyone as he walked out on the front porch also. Leoma decided to sit on the old wooden Rocker, trying to think of what to do with her stuff inside her home that’s lying on its side. Where to live…just a mess.

“Is it dead?” was the first thing out of Levi’s mouth as he saw everyone standing there. Looking at their expression “I guess, not huh?”

“No, you guessed right, at least we don’t think it is. There is a slight possibility the Alp could be dead in a cave that Kalisto and Alexios caved in. But with everything that has just happened I’m more on the side of ……It’s still alive and hunting us.” Galinn stated while walking over to Leoma and putting his arm on the back of her neck, rubbing it.

“Also, she’s going to go into another heat from the poison soon and we will need a place for her and I.” Galinn asked Jed and Levi.

“Jed, take Leoma and Galinn to Rachel’s home, use Rachel’s car and we will swing buy and pick you up so we can go back up to the old homestead and check things out.

“Sounds like a plan, let’s go.” Waving his hand to Leoma and Galinn. Jed jumped off the porch and pulled her keys out of his pocket. They all jumped into the car and drove off.

Rachel walked outside with the rest of them, holding a cold washcloth to her head. “Any better?” Levi asked her.

Shaking her head yes, “A little, I think its subsiding, I hope it is.” Noticing Alexios and Kalisto standing there, “Oh hey you all.” They both smiled at her waving their hand.

“Having headaches Rachel?” Kalisto asked her.

“Yeah, I don’t’ ever hardly have headaches but since I was eye to eye with that ugly bastard, I have been having them.” Taking the cold cloth away from her head she walked back into the house.

“Well, since Galinn and Leoma are probably at Rachel’s by now, you and Rachel should go pick up Jed while Kalisto and I go try and track down the Alp.” Alexios stated as he took his gun from the sling around his shoulder.

“I thought maybe all of us could go and help find it. I mean it’s better if we all stay together and help each other out, including Rachel. She doesn’t want to stay here alone, and Jed and I know the area. We know the hiding places, other places it could have gone. I mean, you guys really need us to help track it.” Levi told Kalisto and Alexios while he waved his hand out over the railing towards the forest. “If you don’t let us, go with you guys then we will go by ourselves to hunt it. I might even hang its head over the mantle in my living.” Levi jutted his chin out to show the other two that he was going to go with us without them.

Kalisto and Alexios looked at each other as Levi spoke, Alexios shook his head in agreement with Kalisto. If they are going then they might as well go with us, at least we can try to protect them. If the dumb asses go up against the Alp themselves, they will all be dead. Kalisto mind linked Alexios, “Okay, all of us are going but Rachel needs to understand that we can’t slow down just because her head hurts.” Kalisto looked at Levi with an exasperated look on his face.

“Awesome, let me get Rachel and we all can get Jed with her car then drive as far as we can, I think we should go up to the old homestead. I know the two of you have been there, but I just have this feeling maybe it went back if it’s still alive. There are other places for it to hide up there and there is also a hidden cellar we should check out.” Levi talked while he got up and opened the door to go get Rachel.

Walking in the house he found Rachel in the kitchen eating a sandwich she made and drinking a coke. “Get your stuff together if you still want to go, we’re heading out to go find the Alp.” Her eyes got big, and she took two more quick bites of her sandwich before she tossed it into the trash and guzzled the coke down. Running over to where her purse was, she took her handgun out and placed it in her back pocket.

“When the hell did you buy a handgun?” Levi asked her, running his hand through his hair. “I hope you can shoot straight because I don’t fucking need you to shoot one of us by mistake.”

“I shoot just find, don’t worry about it.” Patting her hidden gun, smiling at him she turned to him, “Well, let’s go.”
