Sinking Ship
After listening for a few minutes, the Alp decided to take another approach. He looked over the side of the boat and dove into the water. Making a splashing sound, the Alp stayed under the water.
Galinn, sitting in the living room heard the splash, he stood up quickly and ran outside. Looking around he didn’t see anything, so he decided to stand still and just listen. He heard the water ripple, walking over to the edge of the boat he bent over watching the water. He could see ripples in the water, something created them. Standing straight up, his senses on high alert to guard Leoma. Galinn thought it was best to walk over the top of the boat to the other side and check the surrounding water to see if there was anymore movement. After not noticing anything else he decided it was best to go inside so he could be closer to her. Walking into the bedroom he checked on Leoma while she was sleeping. She was sleeping peacefully so he went into the living room and sat on the couch. Turning on the TV scanning through the channels. He had never watched television before and was mesmerized by the violence he watched. What has this world come to since I have been gone. He thought to himself.
The Alp stayed under water for around 20 minutes, long enough to feel that no one would be expecting him to be there. Swimming to the hole he had put in the boat earlier, he noticed it was covered up with some type of gunk. Grabbing the rubbery substance, he pulled it away till the hole was exposed and the water started to pour in. Happy with the results, the Alp swam to the middle of the river where it was deeper and darker and just waited.
Galinn was tuned into scanning through the channels when he realized the boat was swaying somewhat. Looking around the living room he stood up. Why would it start swaying? The boat is in pretty shallow water and there are no waves in the river. He thought to himself then suddenly he started to hear water running like the sound of the faucet. Walking over to the kitchen area he noticed there was no water running in the sink. So, he started to inspect the boat from the front and slowly made his way to the back. While he was inspecting the boat started to tilt more to one side. Making his way to the back where Leoma was, he could hear the water clearer and the sound was louder.
Remembering they patched a hole that was made by the Alp, he went down to inspect it. Water was filling the bottom of the boat up fast. Walking through the water the seal was ripped off, Galinn knew that the Alp was near, he had to have done this just a few minutes ago. Maybe that was the sound in the water he heard. Maybe it was the Alp in the water trying to sink the boat. Looking for some more of that stuff they used last time to patch it, he couldn’t find any. The boat will just have to sink. He made his way back up and hurriedly ran over to Leoma.
“Wake up Leoma.” Shaking her, they had to leave the boat. The water isn’t that deep but right now he had to leave with Leoma and figure out how to save her home later. She opened her eyes, rubbing them with the hand.
“What Galinn?” she asked.
“The hole that was patched is re-opened, we have to leave.” Grabbing her hands he pulled her up off the bed.
“Leave? We can’t fix it again?” she asked him “Everything I own is here.” She said panic in her voice. The boat was starting to tilt further.
“No” is all Galinn said before he decided to place his arm under her knees and lift her up bridal style and run out onto the top deck with her. Placing her on her feet he said pointing to the stairs, “Go, now.” Placing a hand behind her back he gently pushed her.
“Okay!” she yelled at him, frustrated at the thought of losing everything she owned and not taking out the insurance on the boat to cover any loss. They both made their way down the stairs and onto the riverbank. Standing there they could only watch the houseboat tilt farther into the water. Making it out just in time.
The Alp waded in the dark water looking over towards the boat, seeing it tilt and slowly sink. He could hear Galinn yell at his mate to get off the boat. It will be easier to get her once they are out of the confines of the boat and out in the open. He slowly swam a little farther down so he could see her. Silently breaking the water just enough for his eyes to look over the top he could see her. His excitement at just looking at her is making his desire to take her again heightened. At the same time seeing Galinn next to her showing affection was making him angrier.
When I get closer and if I scent him on her I will kill him, make him pay. She is mine. He thought to himself as steam rose off his skin that was exposed to the air. I will send his mangled body back to the queen then I will send the other two back to her also. Her precious human warriors that she treated to kind compared to her loyal Alps. The more he watched Galinn with Leoma the more hatred he became towards the warriors.
The Queen is probably aware already he is free and missing. If she comes after me, I will kill her also, then I will become king of the human world. I could easily rule this species of week human animals.
