Chapter 9 The Giant Brown Dragon
She was stunned, and the whole scene was surrounding her; she was unable to figure out where she was.
The situation was jarring, but she did not feel peculiar; she had no idea why she liked it, why she wanted him around.
Esperanza was doing dishes when her mother placed her hands on Esperanza's shoulders.
" So what have you decided?" She asked without warning, and Esperanza went flabbergasted.
" What are you talking about mother?" She asked.
"I am talking about Caspian," she replied.
" Are you really going to force me?" She asked.
"So you do not want it?" Her mother asked.
Esperanza kept silent.
"Esperanza, I know he is a bit hasty and a little empty-headed, but trust me he can give you whatever you want,"
'He would take care of you as no one ever did, he would be the generous choice for you, and I know only you can change him," her mother smiled politely.
"And if I refuse, can you tell me the consequences?" She asked.
" You know more than me," she takes a long gasp.
" You can imagine how he will destroy your life, if you are having anyone in your mind then you need to step back," Her mother said.
"And if that person is way more powerful than him, and can destroy anybody with a snap of his finger?" She asked and her mother frowned.
"What are you saying? No one can do this," she let out.
"Are you engaging with........," she was about to say but Esperanza placed her hand over her mother's lips.
"No.... Mother do not say that, I would never do that," Esperanza said.
"You know what happened to those who they take with them, they are dead, they are no more," her mother's eyes widened.
"No.... Mother, you are getting me wrong. I was just asking, but remembered that there is no one more powerful than Caspian." Her whole heart was crying; she made that decision.
"Yes, I will be his bride," she said and her mother delivered a joyous smile.
"I know about my daughter, your father will be very happy to hear this," she sighed and Esperanza hugged her back.
"Yes, mother I hope so," she let out while having a burden on her heart.
" What have I done?" She whispered in her heart.
"Where is father?" She asked.
" He did not come back. Today, he is going to get plenty of water for our people," Her mother replied.
It's risky, Esperanza said.
"Once he came back and got to know that you had made the finest decision for our family, every risk would have vanished," her mother said.
" I am hoping for the best," Esperanza replied.
A bunch of men were moving to the other side of the valley, they got to the point where they were going to unleash their plan.
A handsome man who was in his early 40s was leading them all.
He was wearing a black cloak and a pair of wooden clogs. He was tall and handsome, he has a marked square face, his eyes were green, and his tone was brownish, he had plumped lips and a greek nose, his cheek bones were high and defined, his body was a perfect example of masculinity, they were climbing over the top of valley and they got to the point where the lack of valley got sperated.
"Emerson, everyone is here, we need to be quick, or they get to know about us," a man who has an apple-shaped physique, a round face with plumed fuller lips, a pair of brown squint eyes, and a bulbous nose let out.
"Yes, Zen, oh, we need to be quick," Emerson, who is Esperanza's father, elaborated at the beginning of the story.
"We need to break this channel, just in a moment," another man said to Emerson. He nodded and started to do his work.
He showed his point, and he moved with his sledgehammer and shovel.
He started dislodging the channel that was carrying a great pressure of water.
"This is going to be our windfall," his campaign was full of zest, and Emerson was pushing his self hard to get their mission.
A man ran to Raymond and whispered something into his ear, he smiled and nodded.
Everyone is dancing and celebrating with full enthusiasm.
Raymond got to Ezra and whispered into his ear, " The moment we were waiting for it to arrive, but I think this is not important today," Raymond said.
"This is not more important than this; those little beings need to know who they are going to deal with," Ezra smirked.
"But my lord you do not need to come with us," Raymond said.
" Whoever he is, he's really brave, who dares to come into our territory," Ezra said.
"I want to see him with my eyes and will decide what I have to do with him," Ezra said, and Raymond nodded.
Esperanza was standing in her window, deeply engrossed in her thoughts.
"So you say yes to your village's destruction," and suddenly a voice comes and Orion gets into her window from the roof.
Her heart started racing fast, and she gulped in terror.
"You are making me scared," she lets out and he sits in her window.
"Come here," he said, and she walked to the window. She stood beside him, and he looked to the side.
" I tried not to come here again, but I do not know what grabbed me here again," Orion let out.
"Why? Cause you are so cowardly that you are afraid of other dragons," she let out, and her little rage came out.
Hahahah....... He laughed.
"So rude to call a dragon a coward," he laughed.
"But you are one," she let out bravely.
" I do not let anyone speak to me like that, especially a human, but my heart wants to let it go for now," He said, and she narrowed her eyes on him.
" You have no idea what you were going to do," she said.
"What?" He asked with a frown.
"You were about to kill that baby," he said.
"That animal," he frowned.
"Yes...., in the morning I saved him, you do not have any idea how much blood he was losing," she spat it out, and Orion remembered there were scars on him.
" What......., what kind of blood, he was all right," He let out and she came to her senses.
" Blood..... Blood....," she got perplexed, that was something she never wanted to share with anyone.
"No.... No nothing....., he got injured, he injured his hooves, I just took care of them," it was clear that she was lying.
"Are you sure?" Orion was clever, but he did not want to talk about this.
" Forget it, and tell me what you think?" He asked.
" About what?" She acted oblivious.
"About that perky little kiss," he let out and flesh started to take place on the corner of her cheeks.
She looked down and tried to hide her shyness.
"Do not do this, please, Esperanza," he turned his passionate eyes on her.
" What.... Did I do?" She asked.
" Stop being that innocent, I am telling you I will snatch you right now," he let out.
"I..... I am sorry, that was an accident," she let out and he got into her room.
"An accident? Really?" He asked.
He was stepping forward, and she was stepping backward.
"I.... I do not know what just happened, please forgive me," she let out while having tears in her eyes, and his heart melted here.
"Here....... Relax, why are these tears in your eyes?" He clutched her shoulders and made her look up into his eyes.
"What happened?" He asked.
"I have never been this close to a dragon," she replied and he snickered.
"From now on, this Dragon is going to be under your feet," he replied, and her eyes got wide.
"What are you saying?" She asked.
" I do not know, but suddenly my mind wants to submit to you, maybe that kiss was crucial for us," he said and grabbed her closer.
"Crucial for what?" She asked while going deep into his eyes, she had no idea why she was strongly falling for him.
"To bring us closer," he replied and placed his hand around her face.
"I am scared," she said..
"Do not be," he said, and they closed their eyes, and again their faces started to come closer.
Their lips were too close and then Esperanza opened her lips with a gasp.
" Mother has asked me, this is a betrayal," she said.
" But I asked you far before your mother," he smiled.
" I do not have those feelings for you," she let out.
"No, you have," he replied, and in that instant, they close their eyes and stand in their places.
Emerson was just done with breaking the line and putting together the other channel that would flourish the canal of the human valley, but all of a sudden, he felt a giant flying thing coming towards them.
Their eyes went wide, and their souls just came out of their bodies.
In that moment, everyone ran and left Emerson behind.
That was a giant brown dragon, he was huge, and his face and body were endowed with scales, he was powerful and winged with four legs, it had a robust sternum and strong muscles, its face was like a serpent's, and it had horns on its head.
