Chapter 57 The victim of hatred
Felix's face was obviously flushed and mottled.
"What happened to you?" Orion asks, and Felix moves hastily and beckons him to follow.
" Your face looks drained; what just went on?" Orion asked one more time, and he did not reply because his voice was quivering.
He cleared his throat and, removing the memories from his eyes, replied with an admirable smile.
"Your girl is more important right now," he replied and Orion peeked at her face.
He clenched her closer to his body and kept moving.
" After striding for a long time," Orion saw some light from a desolate place. That was located on the huge butte, and on top of that the whole village was civilized.
"What's that place?" Orion asked, and Felix replied with a soft smile.
"This is the place where I left my heart forever." He was smiling, and as he stepped forward, the storm of memories hit harder.
"This is called a monastery, and it's their temple and complex," Felix describes and Orion frowned.
"I have heard about them, but they never bothered me so I never destroyed them," Orion replied, and Felix smirked.
"If you ever tried that, we were never on the same side," Felix replied, and Orion frowned. Felix never showed concern about anything in his life.
"What happened That's the first time you are being pensive about something?" Orion asked with obvious suspicion on his face.
" Do you remember, you asked me why I hate human and dragon love stories so bad?" Felix clenched his brows and turned, while Orion was flabbergasted.
"I am the victim of that hatred," he said, and Orion's face and muscles froze. Orion was dumbfounded as his mouth would not let out a single word.
"I fell in love with the most beautiful human in this world, but as you know that's a crime, if you want to be with a human you cannot love them, and if you love them, you cannot breed with them, and if you breed with them, then that human and that child need to die," Felix eyes become tear filled.
" And I did them all," he let out with a smile.
" She was not my need, she was my reason to live, she was not just my love, she was my whole heart, and as she died, my heart died with her, and that heart stopped beating as it had beat," Felix seems ardent, while Orion was aghast to know the biggest secret of Felix's life.
" You never told me about that," Orion let out.
"For what? Do you want me to scrape my wounds again and again in front of everyone?" Felix clenched his fist and sniffed his nose, but still the tears were uncontrollable, and the gleaming smile still lived on his lips, as he did not want anyone to see his misery.
As he was moving, every wound was bursting, and the searing was coming out of every trauma that was obvious on his body and heart.
" But we ran away with our beautiful child, and those people gave us a safe place to live. We spent our five years here, but after those resplendent years, they found us," Felix said and his body was trembling as he was expressing his heart out.
"Who and what did they do then?" Orion asked.
"The dragon warriors set fire to my house, and here I lost my woman and my five-year-old son." He let out, and the pain was excruciating.
" That day, I lost everything, my world, my home, my love," he said and Orion stopped on the uplifting ground where they were striding.
" How could you endure all this?" Orion asked.
" I did, I tried to take my life several times, but my fate wants me to live and endure all this alone, but I know I kept alive so I could finish those ruthless creatures who do not even think while killing those innocents." He brushed off his tears with his hands.
"And the only reason for my living is to destroy them, to kill them all," He was gritting his teeth and the sweat was apparent on his forehead.
" You should be telling me, I was your friend," Orion let out and a chuckle escaped from Felix's lips.
"Friend! Are you thoughtful?" Felix let out and Orion felt embarrassed.
"Then what are we then? You have always been altruistic to me," Orion asked with a long and dull face.
" You were never my friend, you were my child, and still are," he replied, and Orion was perplexed. He got something that was missing for years.
"I always treated you as my child, nothing else, friends no! Never," he makes an uncertain face.
"At that time I found you, you were naive, so innocent, just like a little shuddered flower,"
"You were like a spring in my frigid heart and life," Felix has intense emotions in his eyes.
I thought, I just found my Caleb, my Orion ...., my Caleb....., he let out and wiped off his tears.
"And from that day, I promised myself that I was going to save you forever," Felix said, and Orion was stuck in his place.
They were standing on the last step before taking.
"That was almost a thousand steps," Felix said while his breath was a little ragged.
"I appreciate this, I got to know you somehow and that was a treasure," Orion said, and it was shocking to see two cold and heartless men comforting each other.
" I appreciate it as well," Felix replied, and with a sync, they stepped on the last stairway as well.
