Chapter 147
Chapter 147
Kaizen
I read the scroll, while we flew to the last known location of the Beast Prince, a little grass world filled with only herbivores by the paperwork. Eskaal had been saving Xaxas’s energy… and used the Horned One’s personal console security to bypass and illegally upgrade Grahkes… He’d done a great wrong yes… but… I know the Beast Prince.
I know he did that FOR Xaxas, not for himself…. but that he took the last secret is a big no-no… It holds the fabric of everything together. Should it be destroyed, it will kill the Lord of Time according to the scroll…
That’s the end of my mate.
That, I won’t let stand.
On landing, the world was lush, and green. The little animals were few and far between, but some were already taking long grass to weave skirts… Oh my… The hole in the atmosphere held the void of space, however, there were angels up there fixing that. We left them to it, since they couldn’t handle the great crimson serpent.
He didn’t trust them. I could hear him all the way from over here, that he was spitting acid at them because he was scared. This is likely the first time he’s ever been in trouble, and alone since the war.
I saw a little rabbit bouncing along with pants, humming a happy tune about today. They see Eskaal as their maker… another illegal thing. Eskaal is mortal.
Fuck I really Really liked him…. But it couldn’t be denied. His scent was all over this place.
“We have to report this.” I said taking the lead. “They talk.”
“I will stand down.” Said Tyson. “If I speak, it will be as the Wolf King, and I do not wish to undermine your authority… sir.” He smiled.
“I as well sir.” Bowed Grace, the Dragon Queen.
We three fist bumped, making a circle.
That was what I missed, we three together, doing some stupid shit.
We followed the yelling and his scent, but he was unshifted, with a thick slaver’s collar around his neck. They didn’t give him any clothing though, nor blanket as he shivered.
“If you shift again beast, you WILL be beheaded!” Shouted Captain Micheal… He was with Uriel.
“Welp, nice knowing you.” I joked, stepping ahead of my siblings… what the Fuck do I say to Stickler 1 and Stickler 2?
“Halt.” Said Uriel. “This abomination is under the custody of the Light Court.”
“AND the Night Court.” I said with crossed arms.
“Get away!” He spat at Uriel… it did not help that he got him in the face.
“You little Slimy Snake.” he was about to draw his sword.
“Let me handle it.” I said holding up my hand.
“I want to go home.” Grahkes started to cry…. “Can I go home?”
“I don’t know. Eskaal broke a lot of rules.” I said rubbing the back of my neck.
“I tried to stop him!” He cried acid tears into his hands. “I even stopped his spell!” Grahkes yelled. “He said… He said it was for the master, and I can’t stop little master… he made me.” he looked down. “Now that stupid shiny horse is trying to take me to his master to skin!”
“I am not!” said Uriel turning pink with anger.
“I heard you!” he shouted, pointing a venom laced claw at them. “You said-”
“Enough.” I said petting his head like Eskaal does… “Would you like to come home with me?”
“General Kaizen that isn’t wise.” Said Micheal and Uriel at the same time.
“Too bad. Tyson, no Grace… you tell the Horned One, he’s going to be PISSED, but not as pissed as Xaxas. Uriel, I cannot command you, but tell your master that they are to all convene in my humble house. I’m a neutral…ish party, so maybe they’ll listen to his side.” I thought out loud. “Tyson stay with me.”
“Yes sir.” He said without hesitation, backing me up.
Grahkes is bigger now. I sense that he is like us, a demigod…. Eskaal really was fucking around, and likely by now finding out… damn. I bet he can wrap around this planet about 3 times…. Neat.
I got him to sit cross legged on the grass, and I let him calm down. I sat with him while Micheal sneered at me. Uriel silently left to speak with Arviel.
“You treat that thing like a person.” Micheal hissed.
“He is a person.” I corrected, letting Grahkes rest his head on my lap, and he still cried. He sniffled like an actual pup, needing consoling, as he mourned his master. I can’t lie, I socially mourned with him.
Eskaal was a general in a different division of hell, but he was an legitimate friend.
It kind of broke my heart. He didn’t resist my magic shackles, because unlike them I only put a power limiter on him, that he’s essentially human right now. He has been denied permission and ability to shift, nor spit acid anymore.
They could have done that if they were kind.
“How could you say that? It ate an innocent planet!” Michel hissed.
“Boo-fucking-hoo.” I rolled my eyes. “How many planets have you taken for Arviel?” I asked. “You are the First Angel of Arviel. The only thing older than you are the Heralds of Light and Night.”
“….That’s besides the point.”
“How many Micheal? I’ve done 1 assisted, and 3 by myself so far.”
“…. 53,252… solar systems.” He mumbled. “Since the very beginning of Haven’s construction.”
“Oh what was that?” I put a hand to my ear, pretending I didn’t hear him. “Working hard since the beginning of time, but you can’t admit how many demons you’ve killed.
“Those worlds were contaminated!” He hissed. “Perverted slime worlds of filth and darkness.”
“And I don’t disagree. I’ve seen a -7 world.” I said petting Grahkes, waiting for Grace to get back.
“Permission to speak sir.” Said Tyson.
“Granted.” I waved my hand.
“It seems all parties have agreed with your idea.” He motioned Grace, who had a black scroll in her hand, and Uriel appeared moments later, with a white one.
“Then lets go.” I said teleporting with the Crimson Serpent.
\----Willow---
I was with my parents, because they could see the red sky now…. And honestly for the Herald not to come, nor any other high ranking general… something Big happened.
“You sure this is alright?” Asked my uncle.
“Yeah, this happens a lot. Whenever Xaxas, or the Horned One get pissed, their anger changes the sky.” I said casually, taking the bowls from my kids. They had a rare treat this morning,
“Mama, can I have some more cereal?” Asked Ari.
“No Ari, let’s have a little bit at a time ok?” I asked, kneeling to his eye level.
Heavy grains were hard to digest, even the specialty stuff… meat makes up about 80% of my diet now, and almost 100% of theirs. That being said, sometimes a treat like ice cream or cereal is fun, and a great motivator.
“Can they not have gluten?” Asked dad.
“It’s more of a fae thing.” I admitted. “They’re meant to eat meat.”
They all looked worried.
“Animal meat.” I said specifically.
“Mortal flesh isn’t as good as the soul of a sinner.” Said Tyson behind my uncle.
They screamed.
“Sorry. I was sent in general Kaizen’s stead.” Tyson bowed politely. “A great crime has been committed by Xaxas’s general Eskaal, who is still at large… I’ve come to escort you home personally.”
“Uncle Tyson!” yelled my boys, running to hug their uncle.
“Wow, I thought you were her husband.” Said dad.
“You should see Grace, especially shifted.” He chuckled.
“It must be serious if I can’t go through the closet.” I mumbled.
He looked with red glowing eyes.
“No, it’s fine; the issue is that the Lord of Light Night, and the Judge are all there, and already pissed…. And poor Grahkes must soak the ire of the masters, and the Sun.” He said shaking his head. “He’s innocent, but they’re so pissed I know they don’t care.”
“This sounds like something we shouldn’t hear…” Said dad.
“There’s a portal in your house. I’m sure if you leave the door open, you’ll hear and see everything anyway.” He said thinking out loud. “I’ll tell Xaxas though just in case. They’re already in smite mode.”
Kaizen will need me.
“I don’t want to go home mama.” Said Ari.
“Me neither.” Mumbled Vex, holding his fuzzy stuffed octopus. They could probably sense the anger.
“Take the boys to the castle.” I said firmly.
“Alright. Come on kids. You guys get to play with Zolotos and Lustros.” He chuckled.
