Chapter 66

*LUNA*

After taking the longest bath I ever had in history, yes because that broke the record for the time I had showered so long because Alpha Kayden touched me for the first time and I wanted to do anything to erase that, at that time it felt.more accurate but this time, I could smile about it as I wash off the dried blood from my skin.

Wrapping a towel around myself, I left the bathroom wondering why Alpha Kayden had returned to the pack early, did the councils attacked him or what? No army showed up after I told Scarlet I couldn't do it, I was expecting them to attack regardless. The sound of someone knocking on my door was enough to pull me out of my thoughts. I hurriedly dried myself and then wear a bathrobe before going over to open the door.

"Rebekah, is everything okay?" I said stepping aside for her to come in, after what happened in the court room I didn't expect to see her here so soon because I thought she would be trying to patch things up with her mate. He looked pretty angry back there and I couldn't blame him. Rebekah could be very stubborn most of the times.

"Everything is not okay. Apparently Alpha Kayden's councils weren't aware of how much trouble you have been coursing according to them. They want Alpha to apply the laws like he did to Jeremy and to other people. They want you and Scarlet dead" She announced coursing me to freeze in shock. I blink back the tears that sting my eyes, even though I knew the councils would disagree with Kayden, hearing your own death sentence is never met with a good feeling.

"I just don't understand, if you didn't kill Sophia, I didn't kill her and Scarlet insisted she didn't kill her too then who could have done that? Someone must have since Sophia is dead somehow" I asked pacing around the room, I was starting to feel cold so I excused myself to get dressed and when I came out of the bathroom I saw Scarlet and Rebekah eying each other.

"Good thing you are here, you can finally explain to her that I did not kill Sophia, when o said I would take care of her, meant to report her to the councils so they would take care of her however they want to" She snapped at Rebekah.

"You two have no idea what you are putting yourself into! Working for the councils? I can't believe you didn't tell me about this. Every of the girls that has a beef with you die or get into some kind of trouble, first Katherine, Genevieve and now Sophie? Of course everyone is going to blame you. Do you have any idea what will happen if Alpha Kayden find out you betrayed him?" Swearing under her breath, she disappeared into the bathroom only to come out a few seconds later, when I hear the shower running, I understood what she did.

Somehow Rebekah words felt like a slap to myself and the truth I have been dreading. "I'm a slave Rebekah, I owe no one loyalty including Alpha Kayden you seem to be forgetting that. Survival is what matters to me and I want my freedom, do you think being shackled as a slave forever is what I want? I want what you have? Mate, freedom, happiness and everything else and I won't get of unless I survive" I told her, she nodded her head I'm understanding making me a little surprised because I didn't think she would understand.

"You mentioned something about you reporting her to the councils. Did you later do that? What if the councils had killed her and Sophia was crawling away to ask for help and died on the way?" Rebekah suggested.

"Will you guys just face it?" Scarlet growled. "We are going to die at least Luna and I because even if we have proof, how are we to explain it without exposing the fact that we work for you know who? So let's just face it. Luna seduce Alpha Kayden so he could save us from this. I still don't understand why he hasn't sleep with you yet" Despite myself, I blush at her words.

"He hasn't?" Rebekah sounded surprised too before frowning. "Hey! How did you know that? That is a private information" Rebekah defended.

"Sex is not going to help me out of this because I do not know how to..." I trailed of not believing I was feeling so embarrassed by something like this when it's a matter of life and dead.

"He is still discussing with the councils, it is too late for Luna to even try and seduce him, whatever their discission is going to be, let's hope it's a good one. I don't want to lose my best friend"

"I'm your best friend" I asked a little touched at that, I ignored Scarlet's eye rolling.

"Of course. I have no other friend when I was a servant or a Lady...." She got interrupted by someone knocking on the door, and at that moment I recalled that Kayden had ordered me to wait for him in his room. I hurried over to the door, surprised to see Caroline glaring at me.

"Water should not be wasted, whosoever is having their bath in there better be done by now" She snarled before walking away. Rebekah went to turn it off.

"Alpha ordered me to wait in his room for him, I totally forget. I have to go" I informed them as I dashed off. Fortunately for me Kayden hadn't come in here. Maybe I should have stayed in my room regardless of the others because with them there, it was easier for me to control my thoughts and now? Being alone, I was suddenly transported back to the times I used to be afriad of the dark and it wasn't even dark yet.

My heart almost jumped out of my chest when someone knocked on the door, I knew it wasn't Kayden because he won't definitely knock before coming to his own room. Two guards were waiting for me outside and my.heart dropped in fear knowing it was time to hear my punishment.

I blinked back the tears in my eyes, holding out my wrist for them to be chain but the guards shook their head and gestured for me to walk behind them. A crowd was already waiting outside no doubt to hear my death sentence. How I came to be the most hated person in this pack was still very much a mysterious or could they hate me for the same reason why own pack member did? I thought.

Everywhere was silent as I walked into the court room, once I reached the position I was meant to be, I paused going down on my knees. Scarlet was also brought in by another two set of guards.

"You don't have to knee" I heard Kayden ordered. I swallowed the lump in my.throat as he approached me, I couldn't hide the tears that rolled down my eyes. Maybe if I told him I'm sorry for working against the council, I would find peace I'm the afterlife. I never even got the freedom I crave.

I was so lost in thought I didn't realized Kayden was leaning towards my neck, I cried out in shock and in pain as I felt his canines at a certain spot on my neck. Pain blinded me for a few seconds only to turned into pleasure that had me moaning.

He raised his head a few minutes later and growled. "Mine!"
