Chapter 61

*LUNA*

I finally convinced Scarlet to leave me alone after what happened earlier, I knew there was no doubt about telling the councils what happened. And what difference does that even make? Miranda had mentioned the same thing Genevieve had commented on before she died, whatever that meant to them I want no part of it. I just want my freedom and for both Alpha Kayden and the councils to let me be.

I flushed when I unconsciously remembered the statement Alpha Kayden had whispered in my ear before he order me to leave. I hated the way my body flushed my arousal and the way my heart raced in anticipation, a knock on the door was enough to drag me out of my thoughts, and a second later Rebekah strode into the room.

"Are you okay? I heard what happened" She asked, her eyes scanning me. I frowned wondering what she was talking about, it take a moment for me to realize she was referring to what happened in the hallway. The servants had obviously started to spread it around, I wanted to shrink down in humiliation.

Clearing my throat, I replied. "I'm fine. None of the male servants or guards was present there, it doesn't make it okay but at least the situation isn't that bad"

"It's a good thing you reported it then, Sophia has started to get out of hand, I still don't understand why Alpha decided to make her his mistress after what she did to Fiona and the other mistress" She hissed angrily, sitting beside me on the bed.

I blinked at her a couple of times. "What are you talking about? Report who? I did not report Sophia to Alpha" I could have done that but I didn't want to let anything get in the way of peace I was starting to get with him.

"I thought you reported Sophia? She's in court right now" I gasped not believing what I just heard her, if I didn't report the incident then who did? All the servants hate me and they would never do such a thing.

Realization slammed into me. "Sophia reported the case to the court, I'm sure Alpha Kayden has something better to do than judge the case of his two mistresses" I couldn't help but wonder what Sophia was up to.

"Alpha is not judging the case but Hunter. That little snake!" Rebekah snarled dragging me to my feet, she didn't give me the chance to protest before dragging me all the way to the court, Sophie stood in front of Hunter crying, she was dressed in a tattered dress, I frowned peaking from the corner where Rebekah and I had managed to squeeze into.

"She is trying to get me punished after stripping me naked in the hall" My finger twisted my hair nervously, I was supposed to keep a low profile until I'm able to gain Kayden's trust. Rebekah sneezed behind me, coursing one of the guards to notice us.

"Sorry" She apologized as we left our hiding place, the guard grabbed me, pulling me towards him into the court with Rebekah behind us.

"This is a misunderstanding" Rebekah was saying but the guard paid no attention to her, he pushed me down in front of Hunter who groaned on seeing me.

"Not you again," He said and I didn't want to wonder what that meant. "You know what? I cannot judge this case, wait until Kayden gets back which is in two days. In the main time, I'll order a few guards to keep an eye on you two" He concluded before strolling away.

Rebekah helped me up from the floor, I ignored the pain at my side as I take a step towards Sophia. "What is your problem with me? After stripping me naked, you came to report that I did that to you? What do you want?" I demanded wishing there was a way for me to hurt her. I couldn't risk losing Kayden's trust which I haven't even earned in the first place no matter how badly I hated Sophia.

"My problem with you?" She laughed like it was something funny. "You think you are better than the rest of the slaves or the other mistress"

"Because I don't want to be a slave or a mistress makes me better than the rest of you? Why don't you just say you are jealous about the fact that I happen to be Alpha's favourite Mistress" I blurted out and the expression on her face confirmed it before she quickly mask it.

"Let us see how that works out for you by the time I'm done with you. Alpha will arrive in the next two days, and I have two days to make him hate you. I promise you, Luna, I shall do that" She snarled, shoving me aside as she walked away.

"Sophie hates you" Rebekah stated like I didn't know. "Just ignore her and be careful" She replied.

I returned to my room to see Scarlet waiting for me yet again, before I could demand she leaves, she started talking. "The councils know about Alpha Kayden leaving the park and they are planning an attack," She told me.

"What?" My eyes widened in shock and I stumbled back, who could be giving the councils all this information? I stared at Scarlet and as if reading my thoughts, she shook her head. "I have no idea, I'm only here to keep an eye on you and give you the council's instructions, I don't know how they know of these things. That is not the worse part"

"What could be possibly worse than that?" I asked rubbing my face to calm my nerves.

"Since you know every inch of the palace plus you are Alpha's Kayden favourite slave. He won't suspect you, you are to open the gate when the warriors arrived at dawn" She answered, I couldn't believe what she was telling me! I sway slumping down on my bed.

"No!" I cried. "That is not part of our deal" I disagreed.

"You don't have a choice" Scarlet reported gripping my hand. "Remember you are doing this for your freedom, you cannot give up"

"If Alpha Kayden finds out, I'm dead. He will kill me"

"You have to make sure he doesn't, or you can't do it because you are in love with Alpha Kayden? Whatever, you don't have a choice. If you go against them, you will lose your chance of ever getting your freedom. You have until tonight to make your decisions and I'll get back to the councils on that"

"The councils?" The familiar voice of Rebekah had me jerking my head in her direction, she stood frozen on the spot, staring at us.
