Kana was extremely busy for that three days, he managed the jobs that were left by the Emperor, he speed up the construction of his own Palace by adding manpower and so on hence within that time, the elegant Phoenix Palace is done.

Kana wanted to hold a welcome banquet for all the consorts and concubines since Empress Dowager's health was still not good at the moment.

Phoenix Palace lives out its name, it looks regal, elegant and Majestic, truly befitting for an Empress Regent.

"Sheen? How's the preparations?" Kana look at the bronze mirror while Xiao Yue applied his make up.

"Everything is ready Your Majesty," Sheen scanned her eyes on the paper she's holding to have a check.

"You're ready, Your Majesty." Xiao Yue said after she fasten the Phoenix crown on Kana's head.

"Xiao Yue, you're doing great, after Sheen get married you will be the one who will replace her." Kana said all of the sudden.

"Sheen, I want you to train Xiao Yue very well."

Xiao Yue and Sheen looked at each other.

"But Your Majesty, I am third in line, It should be Xiao Mei right?" Xiao Yue wondered.

Kana smiled warmly, definitely Xiao Yue is a good person, she's not greedy at all, other people if offered an opportunity like that will immediately grab it, but Xiao Yue knew her place, that makes Kana likes her more.

"If I say that I have doubts on Xiao Mei's loyalty, will you believe me?" Kana said while he look at the two intently, studying their reactions.

Xiao Yue's eyes widened but she didn't know what to say.

Xiao Yi and Xiao Mei goes out together that night for a mission, but Xiao Yi died that very night, isn't it too impossible to be just a coincidence?

"How is that so?" Sheen said in shock.

She has been with Kana since they were little kids so it's a pity that she is not aware of the people surrounding them.

Sheen kneeled in panic, "Your Majesty, this slave is wrong, please hand down the punishment."

Kana chuckled lightly, "Silly, What did you done wrong?"

Sheen lowered her eyes, "I was your companion since we were little, I am the leader of Special Female Force but I am not aware about the nature of my subordinates."

Kana tap her shoulder,"Get up, No one knows what is running on other people's thoughts... besides, You are soft hearted, people like you tends to fall on trap when it comes to scheming. Let us leave Xiao Mei and wait if what she will do next to confirm my suspicion. Just keep your eyes on her."

"Yes!" Sheen and Xiao Yue said in unison.

"Let's go and meet the guests." Kana stood up and look at the bronze mirror for the last time.

The two servants followed him to the main hall.

There's a table meant for gifts, each guest might carry small gifts to Kana hence he prepared something for them in return.

The Concubines sat on the long table, lively talking on each other When Noble Consort Song came.

"Her Highness Noble Consorts Song has arrived!

"Princess Consort Yu Lin has arrived."

All Concubines stood up and gladly meet them, Only Imperial Concubine Lili wasn't there at that joyous moment.

Both women came at the same time but Kana meet Consort Lin first before he greeted Noble Consort Song who's silently annoyed because he ignored her first.

"Consort Lin, welcome!" Kana hugged him and they both exchanged pleasantries before Kana ushered him to sit on the presidential table.

Noble Consort Song frowned, does Empress Regent Han deliberately ignored her?

"Empress Regent Han, Is this Noble Consort not welcome in this gathering?" She didn't want to sugarcoat her disdainful voice.

Kana turn around at her and his eyes darted at her, full of mockery as he walk to welcome her.

"Noble Consort Song would not take this at heart, I was just too excited to see Consort Lin since it is very rare for us to meet." Then he added in a slow voice that only the two of them can hear, "Besides, if the Emperor will come, you might be the next Empress."

Noble Consort Song's face paled when he heard it, that slut Consort Lin probably spilled some tea to Empress Regent Han! She should finish her tonight!

"This Noble Consort would not dare!" Noble Consort Song said, "We all know that Empress Regent Han is the most suited person as an Empress."

Kana proudly lift his chin, "It's good that you know." Then, he turn around and leave her alone.

After serving the tea, the Concubines walk to the presidential table to bestow gifts and tea for Kana as a token of gratitude for inviting them to her palace welcome party.

The tea pot was change and it's Consort Lin's turn to pour Kana some tea.

"Your Majesty." He lifted up the tea cup and gave it to Kana.

Noble Consort Song glance at the servant who took the tea pot in, Xiao Mei.

They nodded at each other, And it didn't escape Kana's eagle like eyes.

Since they scripted a good play, Kana and Consort Lin will play along.

Kana took a sip and after that, he started to choke, he grab his neck and his face is so pale.

Noble Consort Song saw it with wide eyes.

"Consort Lin! How dare you poisoned the Empress Regent!"

Consort Lin inwardly chuckled but in the outside, his face showed panic.

"No! It's not me! I was framed!"

Sheen immediately caught Kana who passed out and by the help of everyone carried Kana to the couch.

"Call Minister Kim! Quick! You! Lock all the doors, no one shall get out of this palace until this poisoning is solve!" Sheen gave orders to the servants like a superior, making the concubines startled.

Seems like the people of Empress Regent Han are not just anybody.

"You traitor! Empress Regent Han treated you well!" Noble Consort Song continued to blabber things.

Xiao Mei stay beside Sheen while Xiao Yue run to get Minister Kim.

Sheen sneered at the remaining servants who kneeled on the floor, in front of the concubines and Consorts she scolded them.

"Servants of Phoenix Palace, remember this well, Empress Regent Han can tolerate anything except betrayal and traitors, if you love your life, you must change your line of thought before it's too late."

Everyone shuddered on what they heard but they kept their silence until Minister Kim arrived with his medicine box and he directly examined Empress Regent Han.

"Who gave Empress Regent Han the tea?" He solemnly ask.

Noble Consort Song stood up and pointed Consort Lin, "Her! She's the last one to pour the tea and it's a new one. That's the pot, the poison residue must be in there!"

Minister Kim stood up, enrage. He ordered the Imperial Guards who followed him all the way here.

"Capture Consort Lin and sent her to the dungeon and quickly do an investigation!"

Consort Lin calmly stood up, and followed the guards along with Yuli.

Her calmness somewhat disappointed Noble Consort Song, why she looks like she isn't afraid at all? She won't live long anyway.

Consort Lin look at her and smirk,

'Fool, this is Empress Regent Han's plan to except me from execution, I would like to see you laugh that day Noble Consort Song, Imperial Concubine Lili."

Perhaps, blood will dye the palace that day.
