Embrace the light (clairvoyant)-Chapter 18. Getting Started

"Walter baby, come on... I'm already an hour late." I told him as I was still waiting for him to get ready. I was cuddling with Milo in the living room, I was stroking his soft fluffy coat as he was sleeping soundly on my lap.

"You know that you shouldn't start me up with sex, it'll be a while until I'm satisfied with you baby. I'm done can go now... why don't you put Milo in his room, I already set his feeding bowl and water. he should be good until we come back later this afternoon." He kissed me on the cheek, then took a seat beside me and continue lacing up his sneakers.

We were out the door five minutes later.

The traffic was sparse, it was a lovely mid-morning. He was concentrating on his driving, but he actually looks like he had a lot on his mind. So, I was keeping myself busy by playing on my phone and trying not to disturb him.

"So, I will drop you off at the clinic. I have another appointment at the hospital and will be finished around four. You will wait for me, okay? I'll see if I could join you for lunch. But if not just order in and eat at the clinic. No going out without me... Flo?" He asked looking a bit worried.

"Yes, daddy." I pouted exaggeratedly at him.

"Damn it Flo... don't give me any ideas, this is for your safety, just until Marie's killer is behind bars." He put his other hand on my thigh, then took my hand, lacing my fingers with his.

"What? me calling you daddy? or ..." I haven't finished my question when he stop and parked his car on the lot, we have arrived at the clinic.

"Florence, maybe we should take a quick stop at my office and I can teach you what that name-calling to me." He cupped my face and starts kissing me, I moan instantly making him groaned and gripped my neck possessively, we were both panting when he ended the kiss.

"Guys, not meaning to burst your bubble there. But Gabby has been waiting for Florence, since an hour ago." Ralph knocked on his driver seat window, making me giggled.

I get out of the car, while Walter decides to accompany me inside and talked to Ralph.

"Gabby! look who I found outside being mauled in a car, Walter... seriously, you might want to stop acting like a teenager..." Ralph blurted out his words, making me blush a deeper shade of red, while Walter was claiming his stake on me like a high schooler, by draping his arm around my shoulder.

Men!

"There you are Florence, I'm so sorry about these boys, they can be so childish sometimes. Ralph go do the chores that I told you to do, Walter don't you have your work at the hospital? She's good here with me." She took me from Walter's arm and seated me next to her desk.

"Gabby... she's the one, don't screw this up for me okay?" she smiled at him as he kisses her cheek, and said goodbye to Gabby.

"Flo... remember what I said earlier okay?" he whispered in my ear and kissed my cheek, dangerously close to my lips.

"I will daddy..." I whispered back to him softly in his ear, for only he could hear. I was teasing him, I was liking the effect that one little word did to him.

"Stop playing with fire Florence, I'll pick you up later this afternoon. I love you." He kissed me one last time, making me smile and said that I love him too.

The guys finally left us. Gabby gave me the tour of the place and then she gave me some pointers for the clerical work, I started off with some filling, it was a slow morning then it was finally time for lunch when Walter called.

".... I couldn't make it on time. I already ordered pizza for everyone there, I have an urgent meeting in a couple of minutes, I'll pick you up later this afternoon okay?"

I give him my yes, and ended the call after moments of talking about my first day with Gabby.

The rest of the working day was quite boring, but Ralph would come and chat with us. He was working at the clinic part-time while continuing his college education. He was actually pretty nice, despite his repetitive flirts on the first day that I met him.

"So, you and Walt... you guys look good together. I'm guessing you already see your future self with him? I'm right, aren't I?" he asked smirking, giving me his boyish looks.

"Yup, I'm seeing yours too, a bad one if you kept on wearing those ugly green sneakers." He looked at his sneakers instantly.

Hah! I made him look down.

"Damn! You're messing with my head already. You're very good Flo. I have a date tonight, I need to look my best. She's beautiful." He shrugged and start fiddling with his phone, trying to look carefree. But I knew that he was actually worried about tonight and that he actually liked the girl.

"You like her... look, just be yourself. You already got her to say yes to the date, it'll be fine..."

"How? What did you see? Flo..." he asked looking concerned and actually worried, I laughed to his reaction.

"My god... Ralph, stop panicking... I didn't see anything, this thing I have it's not something I can switch on-off, I just saw your gestures, your body language. I'm actually pretty good at that by now from years of living with my deranged parents and being milked for my so-called talent. That's what I did when people would come for a reading and I didn't get anything out of them." I smiled at him seeing that he was visually relaxed, then he slumped back to his chair.

"Damn Flo... you got me worried there." He smiled and was back to fiddling with the phone, he was done with his work. He was waiting for closing hours, just like all of us.

Half an hour later Walter was at the door, he looked handsome as always. His smile instantly brightens up my dull afternoon. We said goodbye to everyone and went back to his place.

"So, how was your first day?" he asked as we were cuddling on the sofa with Milo while watching the evening news. We were relaxing after a nice dinner.

I didn't have the heart to tell him that I was bored to death with the clerical work. I was feeling like I needed to do something with my life, and for now, it was the only option for me to fill my time with.

"It was good..." I told him, but he saw right through me. I forgot sometimes that this was his job to analyze people, deduce their problems, and giving them an out.

Okay then...
