Chapter 53

Daisy was feeling like a blimp, and she was just getting started with the pregnancy. She wondered with a little bit of horror just how big was she going to get.

Everyone has been almost overboard with all the things they are not letting her do. She was sitting on the couch, and the next thing she knows, she has someone lifting her feet onto an ottoman and then putting a glass of lemonade and some snacks by her.

She was starting to feel like she wasn’t going to be allowed even to use the bathroom without someone in there with her. She was beginning to get annoyed.

That was another thing. Anytime she was annoyed, it was due to hormones. Like she can’t possibly be truly annoyed. Her annoyance was going from mild to all-out pissed.

Right now, she found a small hidden nook in the garden and was not letting on to anyone where she was, not even Noah and Raja, who were trying to increase more substantial reach her through their bond. She was pregnant, not an invalid,

So they can all sit on their hands for a little while she finally gets some peace and privacy.

Noah and Raja were almost into full panic mode; where was she? Why isn’t she answering their link? What is going on? Is this something normal for a pregnant female?

Noah jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder; turning around, Enid stood with a slight smile on her face.

“Perhaps you should go inside and get something to calm you down; Garret is in the kitchen. He could get you something to eat.”

“I will go and find her; I know what is wrong, and I will help. I have to say she will have to lay down some ground rules.”

She motioned for him to go into the kitchen door; he went reluctantly, now thinking about what he or Raja had done wrong to cause this problem.

Enid suspected what was wrong with Daisy, Daisy was an independent person, and lately, no one has let her do a thing, not even for herself. Enid knew of a few places in this garden that she could be hiding and went to check them.

She understood Daisy, but Daisy also had to accept that the three growing inside her were going to take a lot out of her. She couldn’t just go off and hide whenever she wanted. All she had to do was tell everyone that she wanted some time to herself or wanted to do something.

Daisy thought like this would be a human pregnancy, but she would have to wrap her head around the fact that it was not. Three different babies need different things, and it was going to be rough on Daisy.

Everyone tried to make it as easy as possible for her, not understanding that they were being annoying.

She rounded a corner, and there was Daisy in the same nook that she liked to hide in occasionally. They will also have to understand that Daisy is human and has lived that way for all of her life.

Enid knew that they would have to at least meet Daisy halfway, and those who were not human would have a crash course on what it is like to be human.

“Hello there, little flower; I see you found my hiding place and used it.”

“Hey, Enid, are you going to tell on me?”

“Nope, but you might want to put your mate to ease and tell them you are ok and need some alone time. They are going a little cray-cray, and I think Noah was about to let that tiger out to sniff your scent to find you.”

Daisy opened their link and sent them I love you, but I need some alone time. She then closed it again.

She knew that Noah wouldn’t be happy when she left her hiding spot, but he needed to understand that his constant hovering would drive her crazy; later in her pregnancy, she would need that kind of attention. But not right now.

“So Daisy, do you want to talk about what is annoying you?”

“You know what is annoying me; it’s all this attention. Are they going to let me wipe my ass? Everything is about the tiger cub and the vampire baby. No one talks about what would be best for the human baby.”

“Is that how it is going to be?”

“My meals and vitamins are for them, but there are no talks about what I should be taking for my human baby. It is starting to piss me off. If they keep it up, I will leave, go back to the lake house and raise my three children by myself.”

“Noah can come along if he wants, but the rest of them can all go and stick it up to their ever better than the rest of the world asses.”

Enid suspected it was getting worse, but she didn’t know it was this bad. She also knew that those involved didn’t realize what they were doing either because they were worried about the vampire and tiger side of the pregnancy. They were showing Daisy that they didn’t care about humans.

Noah will have to get his head out of his ass with being overwhelmed by this pregnancy. Start taking control of who gets to spend time with his mate other than him. He will also have a heart-to-heart with Daisy and tell her that he will love all the children.

Yes, some of this is hormones, but some of it is not. Daisy has a legit reason for being annoyed and upset, which needs to be fixed.

“Daisy, I want you to send for Noah and have him come here right now.”

Daisy stared at her as if she had grown two heads.

“Now, young lady.”

Yikes, Enid had only used that tone once when she was caught getting into the tool shed and taking off with a pair of sharp clippers.

Daisy opened the mind link and showed Noah where she was, it didn’t take long, and he was there looking like he was going through hell to get to her.

“Well, you two need to have a long serious heart-to-heart; I will go and keep Garret company and chat with the staff and the doctor.”

Enid quickly marched off back in through the kitchen door, leaving the lovers staring at each other in silence.

Noah got down on his knees in front of her, and she started to cry; she hated that this was because of the hormones.

“What it is, little one? Did we do something? Tell me, whatever it is? We will make it, right?”

He picked her up and sat back down with her in his lap.

“Do you want all three of our babies?”

He looked at her like she was nuts but didn’t say so.

“Of course, I want all three. What makes you think I do not?”

Because you are always talking about what you are going to do with your tiger cub, or you are always looking up information on what vampire children need and like. But you nor Raja have even said a word about your daughter.

Noah looked at her, astonished; he didn’t realize that he had been doing that. It was just that the tiger and vampire were boys, and he had been excited about what he was going to teach them. He didn’t realize that it would come off as if he didn’t want the little girl because she is human.

He held her tighter to him, and Raja did his usual he started to purr to calm things down.

“I am sorry I gave you that impression; I want our daughter too. I was excited over all the things I would do with my sons. I didn’t think it would come off as you thinking I didn’t want our daughter because she is human.”

“I am so sorry little one; I will admit a daughter scares me, especially when she gets older, but I want her just as much as the boys.”

Raja spoke up, “She will never date; I will scare the ever-living shit out of any male who tries to touch her.”

Both Daisy and Noah started to laugh.

Michael had done some asking around, and it is incredible what disloyal servants will tell you of their masters, especially if those masters were assholes.

He found out that the two assholes in question were secretly meeting every night in the old wing of the castle. They even told him where the room was and when they would be there.

They told him that tonight was a special night. They had a little party where other royals would meet to discuss whatever they talked about. None of the servants could tell him what was being talked about.

Well, well looks like I get to be a party crasher tonight. Then he got an even better idea. I could find more information if a fly on the wall were instead. I bet they all forgot about the unique things that I can do.

He smiled and went out to get to the room before anyone else arrived to get the best view and hear all that was being said anywhere in the room.

Oh, this is going to be so much fun. He hadn’t had this much fun since he was coming into his powers as a vampire. He smiled one of his evil smiles and for once thought about how it must have been a rush for Blane when he was hunting his victims.

He wasn’t going all serial killer, but he could imagine how it felt. It was a little bit of a rush. He whispered into the air…
