Chapter 48

When Michael entered Tabitha Martins’s quarters, it was a nasty sight, it had a horrible smell of death, and all the lights were smashed. There was a considerable mucus like a pool in one of the corners. It was green with red streaks.

The pool was also the source of the stench, it was nauseating, and they had to open every window they could find to air out the room to stay to investigate it.

Michael wasn’t sure what it was, but he had a feeling that another demon was now roaming about; how could it be possible, though, for Mrs. Martin to become one even if she was taking the elixir?

Vampires were not affected by taking the elixir; was she perhaps more than just a vampire? Did she have a shifter in her closet? It was the only explanation for the scenario she had shifted in her. He smirked at that; she was one of the worst when snubbing the mixed blood.

The question now is what has she turned into, and where is she now? He was sure that perhaps she had gone home, but as to what she had become, he had no idea, and he didn’t like not knowing what he was walking into.

Perhaps he should make sure of her location but call Jack Dawson and see if he could get the Chief to come here to take a look or at the very least give them some advice.

After seeing what had happened in this room, Michael wondered how Mr. Deslaires was fairing with the Ghost. He had ordered the dungeon emptied and closed. No one was to enter till he gave the word to open it again.

The Wraith enjoyed his work; every artist goes through their moral stage where they take some stand against evil, and he was in this stage. He had all he needed to make his final piece. Now he has to have the body to complete the work. It was time that Raymond met his maker if he had one.

It wasn’t easy to kill a vampire, and it almost always had to be another vampire to make the kill; it was a good thing he was a vampire. It would be messy, so he dressed in his rubber hello kitty outfit; he was protected from head to toe.

He stood over an unconscious Raymond and smiled. It was time to wake up sleeping beauty. He grabbed a bucket of ice water and poured it slowly over Raymond’s face. Ice cubes made their way out and onto the floor as his eyes flared open in anger.

Once the subject was awake, he set down his music player and turned on Celldweller’s “Jericho” song on repeat.

He noticed Raymond watching him; he smirked, probably wondering if he would lose another dick. Nope got all the points he needed for his crown. Now he needs to make the king.

Raymond watched in horror. He couldn’t wrap his mind around what he was seeing; there was the Ghost dressed in a hello kitty pink-themed rubber suit. Where the hell do you even get one of those?

The worst of his thoughts, though, were as to why he needed a rubber suit. He hoped that someone would hear the music that was blasting at least. The Ghost was singing along with the music and doing a little dance.

Perhaps this was all just some weird and horrible nightmare he was having. He even closed and opened his eyes several times, hoping to wake up.

He closed his eyes one more time in hopes, but when he opened them again, the Ghost was standing beside him, staring at him with a smile that made his blood run colder.

“Well, it has been good to have you here as my guest of honor, but as we all know, all good things must come to an end. Don’t be sad; I will immortalize you as you truly deserve.”

That was when Raymond noticed the left hand of the Ghost was in a spiked metal glove. The spikes were sharpened to razor-sharp points.

The Ghost then started to levitate, so he was above Raymond. He started to thrash about but he could barely even move, he tried to scream but he was silenced.

When the Ghost was high enough, he reached out with his left hand, and with a swift downward thrust, he plunged it straight into Raymonds’ chest cavity. He felt a blinding pain, and a ripping sound lent into the air, as The Ghost held out his heart for him to see as it stopped beating.

Knowing that this was the end, he watched as the Ghost dipped his heart into hyssop oil and lit it on fire. He felt as if he was on fire as he gave out his final death convulsion and then was no more.

The Ghost smiled at Raymond’s body…

“Yes, there are other more humane ways to kill a vampire, but I thought that perhaps you deserved a fiery finale.”

The Wraith rubbed his hands together in glee, now came the final stage in his creation. Soon the world would all hail the king.

Chief Josef StormWalker woke dripping sweat from the nightmare. He got up and washed it off to remove any negativity that might still be lingering.

Picking up his phone he called Jack Dawson’s number, it was late into the night, but this couldn’t wait if what he thought was now about to roam about freely in the world, he had no time to waste.

He couldn’t help but wonder what the hell was going on in those communities? Who was the idiot messing around with all this evil crap. He hoped that whoever it was, they met a bad end.

Usually, he would be appalled at such a thought, but whoever is doing this is the idiot of all idiots, and he had a feeling that it was over greed. Someone was making a profit from all this.

There was no way he was going to go directly to this one. He would only advise on this; he would also lock down the tribal lands and put-up protections. This sort of demon would seek them out because of their natural powers. It could become a god if it absorbed enough of his tribe members.

In the full-length mirror in her old room, Daisy examined her tummy. She was amazed; the baby bump was already forming. If it were any indication of the future, at this rate, she would get so big that there would be small moons in orbit around her.

Noah was lazily lounging naked on her bed, watching her; his eyes had the golden glow, Raja making it known that he was there watching. They all had a look of a cat that had gotten all the cream. She didn’t need to read their minds to know what they were thinking.

Still, she was worried about it all, triplets were no laughing matter. There could be all kinds of complications in carrying them and giving birth. She didn’t care what sex they were. She just wanted it to go smoothly, and they were all healthy.

“When you two stare at me like that, I think you look too smug. Have you given any thought that Triplets means that everything will be three times more than just having one cub?”

“Is Raja going to get up in the night for feedings and diaper changes? How about when they all start to walk, going to be able to keep up with that? Not to mention how big I will get or the dangers of birthing all three?”

“Let’s not even think about when they become teenagers.”

Their smug look was quickly erased and replaced by a mix of worry and horror.

She felt petty after that, but at the same time, she felt like they got all the fun, and she had all the work. Well, that wasn’t entirely true. She did have more than her share of the fun.

Smiling, she went over to them and joined them on the bed…

“I am sorry that was a bit petty of me; I guess I am just a bit nervous about all this. As time goes by, I am sure I will be much more confident than I am now.”

She giggled as the purring started, and they snuggled into each other’s embrace.

In the cloak of the night, the Wraith assembled his final masterpiece. He was practically giddy with excitement; he couldn’t wait till they all would see the new King. It was beyond any sexual climax he had ever had.

He knew his time was coming to an end; Michael Deveroe wouldn’t let him live after this even though Michael let him take out his trash for him.

In truth, he was getting tired of living; even now, he was running out of things that excited him in his creative state. It wouldn’t be long before he would start craving something else.

He laughed into the night…

“I guess it’s a whole meaning to the phrase. Being bored to death.”

Still, I hope that Michael doesn't think that I am going to go quietly into the night. After all I got to live up to my reputation.
