Chapter 67 The Succubus

Chapter 67 The Succubus
DESIREE

"Leave my mouth the fuck alone!!" I mumbled as Jaxon kept touching on my face.

"Okay...okay, princess. I'm sorry," he replied reluctantly as he let go. "Don't make any noise. I'm trying not to get ejected from camp. This place is cool. I'm not ready to go home and face my crazy ass parents."

Crazy ass parents? Yeah right!

I stared at him.

Jaxon James was standing in my bathroom, in the middle of the night, grinning at me like he hadn't just materialized out of thin air and grabbed me from behind. His blue aura was pulsing faintly, casting strange shadows across the tiled walls.

"Jaxon," I hissed, my voice barely above a whisper. "What are you doing here? This is the girls' hostel. This is my bathroom. This is—this is insane!"

He stepped closer, his eyes never leaving mine. "What were you thinking? Trying to walk out of my life, and you thought I'd just let you?"

"That's not the question. Have you seen the time?! Why didn't you just come in the daytime? Why are you setting me up like this? I thought Jett had passed the message. What about "I don't want no parts in this partnership don't you understand?"

Jaxon rolled his eyes. He grabbed my face in a harsh but romantic way. "Now, listen to me, sweetheart. No one tells me what to do. This is my kingdom and I make the rules. I missed my mate and I want to give her a kiss on the lips. And that's what I'll fucking do."

I felt a wave of disgust. Breaking into my bathroom and still having the nerve to be arrogant about it?

"Jaxon. I would love you to leave. It's night and I have to sleep. Skiing lectures start as early as 5 and I have already been up practicing my Ice control."

Jaxon smirked. "Oh...the ice-thingy. Don't freeze me, please. I got extra horny from the last freezing you did and there's no one to help."

I rolled my eyes.

"I'm joking. I can help you."

"How?"

"Let me mark you. If you're mine, you'd have better control of your gifts."

I wasn't having it. "Jaxon, this is illegal. You have to leave. You could get expelled. You could get arrested. You could—"

"Has it escaped your notice that I'm a succubus?" He cut me off, his voice low and intense. "I can move like a ghost. Like Jett, but limited. I can slip through shadows, through walls, through any barrier that tries to keep me out."

"Limited? You just appeared in my bathroom!"

"Exactly. Limited." He smiled, but there was something wild in his eyes. "I can only do it when I'm desperate. And tonight, I'm desperate."

I stared at him. He looked different. His eyes were redder than usual, his movements slightly unsteady. He was moving like a drunkard, swaying slightly as he stood there.

"Jaxon," I said carefully, "you smell weird. Are you okay?"

"Perfect. Never better." He reached out and touched my face. His fingers were warm against my skin. "You're so beautiful, Desiree. Do you know that? Do you know how beautiful you are?"

"Jaxon—"

"I missed you. I missed your lips." His thumb traced my lower lip. "I missed your body. I missed the way you look at me when you think I'm not paying attention."

"Jaxon, stop—"

"I thought about you every night. Every single night. I thought about your nipples. About the way they'd look if I—"

I pushed his hand away. "What is wrong with you? You're not acting like yourself."

He laughed. "I'm acting exactly like myself. You just don't know me well enough."

He moved closer. I backed up against the sink.

"I'm not letting you go," he said, his voice low. "Not until you reject me. Not until you tell me to my face that you don't want me."

"Jaxon—"

"I'm not my parents, Desiree. I'm not my mother. I'm not my father. I'm me. And I love you. I love you more than I've ever loved anything."

"You can't just—"

"I can. I am. And I'm not leaving."

I opened my mouth to argue, but before I could speak, he grabbed my hair. Not hard—not painfully—but firmly enough to pull my head back. Then he kissed me.

It was rough. Desperate. Hungry. His lips crashed against mine like he was drowning and I was air.

And shockingly—impossibly—I kissed him back.

I didn't mean to. I didn't want to. But my body betrayed me, responding to his touch, his taste, his warmth. I felt his hands slide down to my hips, gripping me tightly.

He pulled back, his eyes blazing. "I've wanted to do that for so long."

"Jaxon—"

"Don't say my name like that. It makes me want to devour you."

He kissed me again, harder this time. His hand slid down to my butt, squeezing firmly.

"Have you done this before?" he asked, his voice rough. "I'm ready to take you on. I've been ready for months."

I wanted to say no. I wanted to push him away, to tell him this was wrong, to insist that he needed to leave. But the words wouldn't come.

Deep down, I wanted it too.

Jane's voice cut through the haze. "Desiree? Are you okay? I heard you talking to someone."

I pulled away from Jaxon, my heart pounding. "I'm fine!" I called out. "I'm just... talking to myself. I'm going to take a shower."

"At this hour?"

"I need to clear my head."

"Oh. Okay. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

I turned on the faucet, letting the water run to cover the sound of our voices. Jaxon was watching me, his eyes dark and hungry.

"You're really good at lying," he said.

"I'm really good at surviving." I turned back to him. "You need to leave. Now."

"I'm not leaving."

"Jaxon—"

"I'm not leaving until you tell me you don't want me. Until you look me in the eyes and say the words."

"Fine." I met his gaze. "I don't—"

But I couldn't finish the sentence. Because it wasn't true.

Jaxon smiled. "That's what I thought."

He stepped forward again. I didn't back away.

The water was still running. The night was still dark.

And I had no idea what was going to happen next.
