Chapter 194 Chapter 0194
Lucien's POV

Aerith threw her arms around me so suddenly that I barely had time to react, her warmth pressed against my chest, and for a moment, I simply just bask in her sweet scent, some times I feel like all this is a dream but no, it wasn't a dream, I lower my lips and pressed soft kisses on her silver hair. "you are the best thing that ever happened to me," she whispered, my lips lifted at the corner, my heart filled with excitement, as if those words hadn't made my heart fluttered, her voice came up again, "I could say I am the luckiest woman on Earth." Aerith added, pulling back just enough to look at me, I shook my head.

"No," I whispered, her brows lifted.

"No?" I nodded.

"I think it should be the other way round," her brows furrowed deeper. "I think I am the lucky one here." She smiled, "before you came into my life, my life had no meaning," I looked into her eyes, letting the truth leave my lips without hesitation, apart from Drayce, I had never let anyone into my world, "all I thought about was war, blood, killing, fighting for the kingdom and destroying anyone and kingdom who dared to threaten it,” I paused, “my smiled widened, "but when you came along," Aerith's smile grew along mine.

"And now?" She asked,

"Now, I think about you." Her cheeks turned slightly pink, I almost laughed at how adorable she looked when she blushed, "only you, when I sleep, I want to sleep with you, when I wake up, I want to wake up beside you, when I walked, I want to walk with you, with our hands intertwined, when I breathe, I want to breathe the same air as yours, and when I take my last breath, I want you to be the last person I see."

"Isn't that obsession?" She asked and I tilted my head to her.

"If you call it that, I wouldn't mind." Her eyes snapped to me. "Then I want you to be my obsession." She blushed harder.

"So," she said, winking at me, "does that mean I am a good influence?" I smiled and reached out, gently tapping the bridge of her nose with my finger.

"I don't think so." Her smile disappeared immediately, and she faked a frown.

"What? So I am a bad influence?" She asked. I chuckled, then nodded.

"Not really, but I think I am slowly becoming a rebel." Her brows furrowed, for real this time.

"A rebel?" I nodded solemnly.

"I could defy the king for you." Aerith's eyes widened. I continued, "I could burn down the kingdom for you and present its ashes at your feet, if you want." Her mouth fell open.

"You would really do that for me?"

"just say the word," I replied, I wasn't joking, she stared at me for several seconds, perhaps trying to determine whether I was joking but there was nothing of such, if someone had told me months ago, that I would willingly turned against everything I had sworn to protect for one woman, I would have call them insane, but yet, here I sat, holding the hand of the most important female in my life, this female that had turned my world around. So confident and certain that if the entire world stood against me, I would probably stand against the world for her, and I know that day would come, but I just don't know when it would come. She suddenly burst into laughter, pulling me from my thoughts.

"You talk like a true king." My smile faded slightly.

"But I am not one." The words came out quieter than I intended, Aerith's laughter died down, her eyes fixed on me. "Even if Aria wants me to," I added, at the mention of my mother's name, I could see something change in Aerith's expression, her face turned sour, and she looked away, I knew that name would never bring joy to Aerith, because my mother had never been nice to her, right from the moment she set foot here. "What is it?" She shook her head.

"Nothing."

"Aerith!" She sighed.

"I was just thinking about what your mother will do when she finds out that you are with a fae, the one the entire kingdom detests." My stomach tightened. Of course, Mother, Queen Aria, will never want Aerith beside me because even if she is the chosen one, dragons are not supposed to claim her; they are supposed to kill her. Any dragon that claims her will have the same fate as the Fae. And she wanted me to be a king, a ruler, something I wasn't born to have. I reached for Aerith's hand. "What if she doesn't want me?"

"And you think I will listen?" Her eyes snapped toward mine; she parted her lips, but before she could answer, I smiled. "Didn't you hear me when I said I am becoming rebellious?" For a second, she simply stared, then she laughed, I guess she finally got the meaning of my words, the sound filled the room, and just like that, the heaviness disappeared, she leaned closer and rested on my chest, with her back against my chest while she pulled my arms and wrapped them around her.

"Don't ever leave me." My heart squeezed, my hold tightened slightly around her, before I pressed a soft kiss on the crown of her head.

"I don't know."

"Then listen let me tell you." I pulled her slightly from me while I made her look at me. I brushed a strand of hair away from her face. "Wherever you go, I will go."

"Even if I go to hell?" She asked, and I nodded without hesitation. Her eyes softened. "Really?"

"Yes," she smiled, pulling shyly away from me. "Where are you going?" I asked, frowning at my empty hands, because the Moment she pulled away from me, I felt empty; all I wanted to do was tie her physical being to myself, not just her soul. She tilted her head to me throwing her silver hair to the side

"Going to hell," I giggled, "are you coming or not?" I laughed more at her words as I chased after her; a tiny spark of magic appeared above her palm. I raised an eyebrow.

"Trying to show off?" She grinned then shrugged.

"Maybe." The spark grew into a tiny glowing orb before floating toward me. I caught it between my fingers.

"Not bad," I said making it disappear,

"Not bad?" She repeated indignantly, "That was impressive." I smiled knowing she wanted me to use those words,

"You still have a lot to learn."

"Oh really?" She winked at me, lifting both hands. The air around us suddenly shifted; several objects scattered across the room and began floating. My eyebrows rose.

"You are getting better." I teased; she frowned.

"C'mon just say the words." I could already feel her frustration. She summoned vines; the green vines shot from her body they move on the floor while I stepped back, waiting to see what this naughty Fae was up to. They crawled to the side of my chambers, and its window turned into beautiful lilies; I smiled.

"Planning to turn this place into a garden?" She shrugged.

"Maybe one day I will." With that, her eyes moved to a small wooden ornament floating past my head. I reached out with my magic and sent it spinning around her. Aerith laughed as she tried to catch it. "Lucien!"

"You started it." She waved her hand, and the ornaments shot toward me again. I caught it, then I sent it back. Soon, we were both laughing and playing with magic like children. For the first time in my life, I was playing with my magic freely. I wasn't thinking about anything, just enjoying the moment with Aerith. I watched as she tried to move another object with her eyes, she narrowed her gaze, and the small case on the table trembled

"Come on," she whispered. The vase moved an inch; Aerith's eyes widened. "I am getting better at this," she praised herself. I smiled.

"Singing your own glory?" I tease.

"Did you see the lizard, they always praise themselves at every fall." I laughed,

"So you are imitating them?" She looked at me triumphantly.

"Maybe, I was." My smile widened, "I think I am getting better " she used my words

"Always proud of my little cracker." She stuck out her tongue. I laughed, then tried to reach for her, but a loud knock interrupted me. Everything stopped. Aerith lost concentration; the vase dropped back onto the table, and her heartbeat increased. I could feel her fear. For a heartbeat, neither of us moved, then slowly turned toward the door, another knock followed, this time, low and deliberate, my instinct immediately took over, the playful man who had been teasing Aerith a moment ago vanished, and here stood the real me, I straightened instantly, while my hand moved toward the weapon at my side, Aerith looked at me.

"Lucien,"

"Stay behind me." Her expression changed; she knew that tone, the tone of a prince, a warrior. I stepped toward the door; whoever stood there had better come in peace, because if it was the other way, then I would destroy whoever was behind the door. "Who is there?"
