Trigger warning: A little physical violence. Death too, maybe.
"I touched her! Did everything you would ever imagine and she loved it." He yelled, pulling against the chains that bounded him and making no progress.
Someone had hit him from behind earlier and he had passed out. His head was aching and his whole body was in pain from how tightly the chains hugged his skin.
He had woken up to see himself in a dungeon and soon afterward, he had been dragged here.
Into this dark, empty, place. The only light was the torch in the King's hand that reflected on his golden mask.
"She screamed my name. Told me she wished I was you and she didn't have to pretend to tolerate you just so you wouldn't kill her. You monster!" He struggled to stand up from the laying position they had pushed him into.
It was uncanny to watch the King so still in front of him, his mask putting him at a great disadvantage in gauging his reaction to his words.
Did he believe him?
He couldn't figure it out.
"Just let her go with me. She doesn't love you and she has no more dignity in herself, I took it all. Give her to me and save your shame."
The fire swooshed in the air as the King took a step closer to him and crouched, light glimmering in the eyes that stared down at him, silent rage in them.
He stilled in fear, the silence scarier than the outburst he had expected.
"One more word about her and that will be the last word you will ever speak."
He felt fear rush over him like cold water, the calmness throwing him off completely. This wasn't what had expected at all. There was no way he knew how to fight this.
He knew what he could do against an angry outburst. He had planned for that to happen so he could further confirm it to himself that the King was a monster, but this?
"I will like you to meet someone." He stood up, and it got even harder to figure out what fate lay ahead of him from the King's eyes. "Bring him in."
The dungeon gates were thrown open and someone was pushed in.
He staggered to the floor and waited for a moment while his eyes adjusted to the darkness.
Lytio had seen him before that, and he avoided his gaze.
But when Basti saw him, he crawled to him, yelling.
Lytio had never heard his voice filled with such agony before.
He must have been tortured.
"Please, tell them! Tell them that you put me up to it. Tell them you told me to do it. Tell them it was all you!"
Lytio ignored the hands that came to him, pulling him while he begged and he looked up at the King who watched their misery.
That monster!
If he had never existed to begin with then all this wouldn't have happened.
Belladonna's family wouldn't have come up with that stupid plan, and his family wouldn't have made him take responsibility for all the consequences and he would be with his Belladonna by now.
The King's existence was the problem.
He hated him.
What was he going to do to him now?
Feed him to his dragon?
Or feed on his flesh and crunch his bones, like the monster that he was.
Like whatever he was beneath that mask.
"Please, tell them."
From Basti's blabbering, it was obvious that the King must have known everything he did by now.
It must be Mayti.
That stuttering idiot of a creature.
He should have known better than to have her do it.
That fool.
"I don't know what he is talking about. I know nothing about his accusations! Whatever crimes he has committed, it is all on him."
"Is he not your most trusted servant that you can wager your life upon his words anymore?"
"From the looks of it, he has engaged in some dirty business and he wants to drag me down with him."
Basti was shocked, his eyes filled with hurt and the pain from his master's betrayal but Lytio looked back at him with a sort of blankness in his eyes, like he was a stranger.
"Mas--ter." He whispered, defeated.
"Alright then, let's get rid of him."
Lytio had expected Basti to be yanked away and a sword slashed through his throat but the unexpected had happened.
The torch had been off and they had been thrown into darkness.
He looked around frantically, dragging himself on the floor towards the place where the light was, remembering clearly that the dungeon bars had not been shit after Basti had been thrown in, although his bondaged situation had made everything difficult.
What about the King?
Had something happened to the King?
Maybe.
That would be good.
Maybe he had magic all this while to make wishes come true and he didn't know!
It couldn't be a coincidence, right?
He wished to be out of the dungeon but it didn't work. That didn't deter him. He would find out more about his magical abilities later.
Right now, he was focused on his escape.
He would have to take Bell along with him when he makes it out of here. They would escape together. They would start a new life. If by smashing the vase on her head, she would suffer memory loss, even better.
They would start life afresh where he would be all she knew.
She loved him once.
She could so it aga---
A growl echoed across the dungeon, booming across the walls and he froze up before he realized what kind of dungeon he was in.
No way.
He could hear Basti shouting in fear, his feet hitting the ground as he ran around, something chasing him.
He pulled himself faster towards the opened gates, his heart skipping too many beats, sweats consuming him, the hard ground ripping his skin and cloth, his chains clanking as he moved. Little desperate grunts making it past his lips.
He was merely some steps away from the open gate when he finally heard the dragon growling again, this time, a blast of flames came along with it, lighting up the dungeon and his running friend, suffering the consequences.
He had wanted to move but was too shocked by the sight before him to, the sight of Basit's burning body littered everywhere.
The dragon turned its attention to him, he felt pants soaked through with urine and his sight clouded with salty liquid, as he turned his focus back to his escape, despite the large monstrous eyes that followed him, but the gate was slammed shut and behind the bars was the King as he tucked the key away and left him to his doom.
"Monster." He mumbled after him. "MONSTER!"
