Chapter 25 "MY WOMAN!"
Auren stared at Imogen for a split second before chuckling. “Amy's definitely having an effect on you. You tend to act more like her recently. You talk without listening to yourself.”
" Your Grace, I analyzed what I am telling you very well before daring to bring it up,” Imogen said, his tone serious.
Auren had never seen the man this serious in his centuries of being in contact with him. Imogen was a cheerful bastard who would joke in the middle of the battlefield. But right now, gone was his playful expression.
Rather it had been replaced by a serious look which told Auren, this was serious business.
" Okay,” Auren said, leaning back in his seat. " Let's say I believe you, what proof do you have to back up your claim?”
" Simple,” Imogen said, a smile gracing his features. " Firstly, she possesses the Ethereal Essence. That's the only magic that rivals the dragon fire and is forbidden. It's known to be dangerous, that's why it's kept in the Caesarean temple, under the care of the undead. That's the magic that consumed Athalia and turned her into a monster that was willing to feed on her own people.”
Auren listened to Imogen and actually saw sense in his theory. The only person who attained the Ethereal Essence in a Millennium was Athalia. It only made sense that the curse of the power was passed down to her daughter.
Haven had the looks of the Fae princess. Except for the difference in hair color, one could mistake her for Athalia. That combined with the fact that she had the Ethereal Essence, made Imogen's theory a hundred percent true.
That means his Little Flame was in a lot of danger. Not only would people attack her to use her for the Ethereal Essence, but she was at risk from destroying her own self.
Just like Athalia .
“Are you going to tell her?" Imogen asked.
“Of course I will. I'd rather she knows how to protect herself from others and herself."

" You should get some rest, Haven,” Lyra said to Haven who was pacing about restlessly.
Ever since she woke up, she was unable to keep calm. Her mind was full of questions she had absolutely no answers to.
" I feel like I'm losing my mind, Lyra."
Amelyn walked up to her, and placed a hand on her shoulder. “You are not going crazy, Haven. You are just…special.”
Before Haven could reply, the door swung open and Auren stepped in. Lyra bowed upon seeing the king , before turning to her sister. “We'll take our leave. Get some rest."
With that, she took hold of Amelyn's hand and they both left the room.
" I want to go home,” Haven said the moment they were alone.
" No.”
" What do you mean, ‘no’?”
" Whatever ‘no’ means.” He replied, moving to the wardrobe and taking off his royal robe. “You are my wife."
“I didn't ask for that!" She snapped, infuriated by his calm demeanor. " You took me from my home, stripped me off the peaceful life I had and brought me in a place full of crazy people who threw me into a cave with a dragon, all so they could see if I'm worthy of a throne I didn't fucking ask for!”
Auren didn't flinch at her outburst. He moved to the table, poured a glass of water and held it towards her. She took the glass from his hands and threw it to the ground, causing it to shatter, the water spilling across the marble floor.
" I'm going crazy, and all you can do is offer me water?” She yelled, her voice hoarse with tears. " I shattered a glass at mere touch, I sleep at night and dream of a place I've never been to. I hear voices calling out to me when no one is around. Now I have memories of a life I never lived. All these happened after I stepped foot here.”
At this point, she couldn't stop the tears from coming. Everything was just too much to bear and she needed to vent the emotions building up inside her.
“Just let me go!" She cried. “I don't mean to be here. I want…”
Auren sealed her mouth with his before she could finish the sentence.
His sudden action stunned Haven. She placed her shaking hands on his chest to push him away. Before she could, Auren grabbed a hold of her waist and pulled her closer to him. He ran his tongue along the seam of her lips demanding entrance, but she kept her lips sealed.
He bit down on her lower lip, eliciting a gasp from her. He used the opportunity to slide his tongue into her mouth, kissing her deeply.
Haven felt heat spread through her entire body as he feasted on her mouth like a dying man whose only source of survival were her lips.
She didn't know what a kiss was supposed to feel like. She had never kissed anyone in her entire life. She grew up sheltered and reserved. She hardly left their house unless it was to go fetch water or deliver bread.
Even Lyra had more experience than her when it came to the opposite sex. As such, she had no idea what to do in such a situation.
But she knew one thing though. She didn't hate it, and that scared her.
The hands that were on Auren's chest, with an intention to push him away, moved on their own accord, running through the king's broad, naked chest.
Auren tilted his head, pulled her even closer and deepened the kiss. He had anticipated this moment ever since he brought her to Emberlight, but nothing could have prepared him for this. She tasted heavenly, like honey and vanilla. It was like a drug he couldn't get enough of.
Her hands on his chest sent sparks flying through his entire body and in no time he was hard, his cock aching in his pants.
Rhaegar stirred within him, urging him to pin her to the wall, strip her off the flimsy dress she had on and fuck her till his beast was satisfied.
He tried to ignore the ache in his pants, and focus on the taste of her lips. But with every kiss, he only grew harder and his beast, hungrier.
With much restraint, he pulled away and rested his forehead on hers, his breathing ragged and uncontrolled.
“You're not just my queen, Little Flame. You are MY WOMAN, and I'll be damned if I ever let you go."
