After the big announcement, Micah helped Sheila stepping down of the podium again and gave her a bottle of water to drink from a nearby table.
“Your okay?” He asked when she finished the last drop of the little bottle and nodded.
“Good, now let’s greet some of our guest and then we can go grab something to eat, is that okay for you?”
“Sure but I hope you are not planning on greeting everybody because my feet can not cope with that much” she muttered half laughing.
“Of course not no, I don’t want to either, just a few close ones to our family and some who came from far away especially to see us and then we can sit down good?”
“Yes thank you” Sheila replied while taking his outstretched.
The rest of the night went by in blur for both Sheila and Micah and before they new it their guests stared to leave so after telling his mother goodbye they also left and walked out to his car.
The night was cool and the streets were quiet as Micah drove his sleek black car through the city. Sheila sat beside him, her mind still reeling from the engagement party they had just left. She had been introduced to all the important crime families, and the weight of Micah’s world had settled heavily on her shoulders.
Sheila was still lost in her thoughts when Micah suddenly announced that he wanted to take a detour. He said he wanted to take her to visit his father’s grave, a place that held great significance for him. Sheila nodded silently, her heart slightly aching for the man beside her who carried so much pain and responsibility on his shoulders.
As they drove through the quiet cemetery, Micah’s hand reached out to grasp Sheila’s. She looked over at him, seeing the vulnerability in his eyes that he rarely showed to anyone. She squeezed his hand in silent support, knowing that she would stand by him through whatever challenges lay ahead. Since he also saved her and her unborn daughter from more trouble.
They reached his father’s grave, and Micah got out of the car, his shoulders slumped with the weight of his grief. Sheila followed him, her heart sinking for seeing the sad look in her fiance’s eyes. She stood beside him as he knelt before the headstone, his voice barely above a whisper as he spoke to his father. She couldn’t make out a lot but she heard him telling him about her, introducing him to his father, hoping that he would be proud of him.
As they stood there in the quiet of the cemetery, a sense of peace settled over them. Sheila slowly felt a connection forming to Micah, seeing him like this, wondering if this could lead eventually to love. She knew that she would always stand by him, no matter what dangers they faced since she owed him a lot.
As they turned to leave, Sheila’s heart skipped a beat as she suddenly saw a shadowy figure lurking in the distance. She grabbed Micah’s arm, her voice urgent as she whispered, “We’re being followed.”
Micah’s eyes narrowed as he scanned the darkness, his instincts kicking in. Without a word, he led Sheila back to the car, his movements swift and purposeful. As they drove away, Sheila’s heart raced with fear, but she knew that as long as she was with him, together, she would be save, or at least that what she hoped for with all her heart!
In that moment, Sheila realized that love was not always easy, especially in Micah’s world, were power, corruption, blood and murder were reigning but here she was and maybe love was worth fighting for. If only she could look ahead in the future!….
As they sped through the night, back to the mansion, Micah kept on checking his mirror but luckily he didn’t see anybody anymore so he drove on towards his mansion were he hopes to spend his first night with his fiance.
But it seemed fate had other plans for them…
The night filled itself with tension as they arrived back home. Back at the mansion they were greeted by the sight of Snow, their house guest and prisoner, who was clearly upset about not being invited to their engagement party. Snow demanded answers from Micah, her eyes filled with hurt and betrayal.
Micah tried to calm Snow down, explaining that his mother had organized the party and that he hadn’t meant to exclude her, that he didn’t know. But Snow was not easily appeased, her anger simmering just below the surface. Meanwhile, Sheila was feeling conflicted about spending her first night with Micah, unsure of her feelings and the situation at hand.
As Micah tried to reason with Snow, Sheila quietly slipped away to her own room, needing time to process everything that had happened. Micah, feeling frustrated and torn between the two women in his life, finally made his way to his room, hoping to find solace in Sheila’s presence.
But to his dismay, he found the room empty, Sheila nowhere to be seen. His heart sank as he realized that she was not ready to take the next step in their relationship. Feeling lost and alone, Micah’s thoughts turned to his mother, Anastasia, who had been hovering on the sidelines, watching the drama unfold.
Anastasia, sensing her son’s distress, excused herself from the room and took a phone call from her secret lover. As she listened to his soothing voice, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt for meddling in her son’s affairs. But then her lover reminded her of all the reason and she knew that she had go trough with it…whatever it was…
In the quiet of the night, with emotions running high and hearts in turmoil, the tangled web of love and desire continued to weave its intricate patterns, leaving everyone involved questioning their choices and their hearts. And as the night wore on, the only certainty was that nothing would ever be the same again.
The next morning, Snow paced back and forth in her room, her mind racing with a whirlwind of emotions. She couldn’t believe what she had heard last night - Don Micah, the man she had been unwanted and secretly started falling for, was now engaged to Sheila, the woman she strongly disliked. It felt like a dagger to her heart, a betrayal she never saw coming.
Still recovering from spending weeks in a coma and dealing with memory loss, Snow struggled to make sense of the situation. She couldn’t understand why she felt such a strong attraction towards Micah, especially when she knew he was now committed to someone else. It was a constant battle within her, torn between her feelings for him and the reality of his engagement.
Doctor Angelo had warned Micah about Snow’s powers, about the danger of her emotions spiraling out of control. But Micah had brushed it off, too focused on his impending marriage to Sheila and the impending birth of Sheila’s daughter of which he would be the stepfather soon, after his marriage to Sheila. He didn’t see the turmoil brewing within Snow, the storm of emotions threatening to consume her.
As Snow continued to pace, her mind filled with thoughts of Micah and Sheila, she felt a surge of anger and jealousy. How could he choose her over me? She thought, her heart aching with pain. She wanted to scream, to lash out at the unfairness of it all. But she knew she had to keep her emotions in check, no wanting to end up in another coma again after finding out that her powers had gotten here there. Powers she had because she was not who she thoughts he was…
Taking a deep breath, Snow tried to calm herself. She knew she had to accept the reality of the situation, to move on from her feelings for Micah. But it was easier said than done, her heart still yearning for him, her mind unable to let go of the hope that maybe, just maybe, he would realize his true feelings for her.
As the days passed, Snow tried to distance herself from Micah, to focus on her own healing and recovery. But every time she saw him, her heart ached with longing, her mind filled with thoughts of what could have been. She knew she had to let go, to move on from her feelings for him. But deep down, she couldn’t help but hold on to the hope that maybe, just maybe, their love story was far from over, not knowing what lay ahead for her in the future to come!
