Sheila sat at the long dining table in Don Micah’s grand castle like mansion, a place even grander than that of her parents, she decided while finally have a good look around. At the dining table she nodded a ´thank you´ while deep in thought as the cook and the maid served their breakfast. Her mind was swirling with confusion, pain, and anger. Confusion as in how to feel about the new piece of information she had just secretly gained by overhearing two guards whispering in hushed tones in the hallway, when she was just on her way over to the dinning hall, about Don Micah having killed Ricardo last night in the dungeon, her babies father, the mans she had loved and wanted to spend her live with after running away from her parents’ house, but now not only she still felt the great pain of his betrayal after she had discovered that not only was he sleeping with her but also with her own freaking mother!! of all people!! and now, now he was dead and she had no clue what to do next or how to feel about the whole ordeal or the fact that she did not even say goodbye to him....
The moment she heard he was dead, she felt a heart skip a beat! Even though she had found out about his betrayal, the news of him being dead had hit her like a ton of bricks. The man she had loved deeply was now gone, forever!
As she picked at her breakfast, not really feeling like eating after that horrible news but knew she had to because of her baby, watched in slight surprise at how coldly Don Micah and Snow behaved towards each other. Micah who sat at the head of the table and Snow, who sat a few meters away from him, kept staring earth at their food or at their phones, in Micah’s case anyway and only said a word or two, nothing more. While Sheila watched them and for sure heard them going at ´it´ all night long, so what on earth had happened that had made them both behave so....cold...so distant towards each other? Sheila wondered in silence.
The tension between Snow and Micah was palpable. Sometimes their gazes locked in a silent battle of wills. Neither of them wanting to give in and open their mouths and speak about their true feelings about what had happened between them....
To Sheila, who watched them from across the table. It was as if they were strangers. Don Micah’s eyes, who looked sparkled with life last night when he watched Snow, were now distant, while Snow’s expression was a mask of hurt, anger and something else what Sheila could not put her finger on yet.....
Sheila felt a pang of sympathy for Snow, knowing all too well the feeling of being in because of the person she loved, although she did not fully understand what kind of relationship those two had but she had a feeling that something more was going on between them.....
Sheila’s heart ached as she struggled with her conflicting emotions. On one hand, she wanted to confront Don Micah about Ricardo’s death, demanding to know why he had not told her about his plans to kill him without mercy. But on the other hand, she did not want another stressful moment for herself and the baby, so she thought maybe it was better to wait until she could talk to him alone and when he was in a better mood!
And so Sheila sat in silence, her heart heavy with the weight of secrets and lies. She knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but she also believed that love had the power to conquer even the darkest of truths. And as she watched Don Micah and Snow, she hoped that things would change, hating to be around people who could not stand each other.
Suddenly the sound of a cup being put down harshly back on the breakfast table removed Sheila from her inner ramblings so she looked up to whom made the sound....
¨I want to go back! ¨ Snow stated with determination evident in her voice as she faced Micah, who just plainly ignored her words, to Snow’s utter annoyance.
¨I am sorry Sheila, i would have loved to stay a bit longer so we could have a chat but it is time for me to go so have enjoy your stay and I hope things for you will work out! ¨ She only said towards Sheila as she stood up from her chair.
As she was on the verge of leaving the room, Micah motioned to the guards, causing them to barricade the entrance and prevent her from leaving.
¨Let me pass! ´ She hissed, but the guards did not move a muscle, waiting for the Don to give them more instructions. But Micah did not flinch a muscle and finished his food in silence while Snow watched him in growing anger.
¨Will you call of your dogs, I am leaving this damn place! ¨ she cursed.
Without saying another word Micah stood up, cleaned his mouth and slowly made his way over to Snow and pushed her backwards against the wall while Sheila watched on curiously at what was going to happen next, feeling like she was watching some kind of soap opera!
¨Sheila, go back to your room. I will talk to you later! Micah’s sudden growl made her almost jump up.
¨Okay...... see you later than¨ Sheila replied before she scurried out of the dining room, leaving Micah and Snow behind in a standoff, with the two guards as their only witness standing guard again beside the entrance door.
¨You really think you can just get up and leave my house? ¨ I do not think so my dear Snow bird, you owe me still many explanations! so, even though our ´arrangement is not ideal, you will remain here until I see fit! Or do you want me to call the cops and go to a real human prison, I don not think you want to go there my dear slave, so be a good girl and go back to your room and after I have talked to Sheila, I will come for you! ¨ he mushed with an evil glint in his eyes.
Snow cursed under her breath as Micah leaned in and was about to kiss an angry pout when she dodged his lips and slapped his cheek with her hand!
¨I hate you! I hate humans!! ¨ she yelled as she pushed him away while he laughed out loud.
She ran towards the guards, who looked back at Micah with their hands on their guns, but Micah shook his head, still grinning.
¨Let her god guys, just make sure she is really going to her room! ¨ he chuckled.
As the guards followed an angry Snow up the stairs, Micah turned around and took a seat at the table again with a sigh as he rubbed his stinging cheek at Snow’s slap. That woman had power! He could feel it and he had also, of course, witnessed it!
After he had poured himself a drink from his bar, he went upstairs and stalked over to Sheila’s room and, after a brief knock, he entered.
¨I was waiting for you¨ Sheila greeted as he walked in and closed the door behind him. While from the shadows, a pair of silver orbs burned like fire watching Micah enter Sheila’s room....
