Chapter 7 Fire
Madison’s POV
“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about”
My eyes moved to an opposite direction, playing blind. Just like I have practiced for 2 years.
Not once did I slip up in front of my father and aunty. Why here? Why now?
“Are you calling me a fool?” Alessandro roared, making me flinch.
The worm crawled under my shirt, making me squirm violently before letting out a high pitched scream.
“Look at me!”
Without having much time to process anything, I did as was told. “Please”
He blinked his eyes, staring at me blankly. He walked up to me, raising my face up by my chin. “You could’ve fooled me, Raven.”
His jaw ticked.
In the blink of an eye, a gun was pressed under my jaw, his grip on my chin tight.
“Who sent you.” He asked, his glare hard. “And don’t you fucking lie to me.”
My mouth fell open, my lips quivering. I shook my head, unable to form a good sentence.
“I’ll fucking blow your head off. You and Draco huh? You both are working for someone, isn’t it?” His eyes searched mine, piercing deep like he was trying to look into my soul.
“No” I said faintly. “Please believe me. I…”
“Believe you? Believe you when you just pulled up a stunt like this? Really funny, Madison.” He pulled his gun away. I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding in.
“I promise I’m not working for anybody.” I explained calmly, looking into his eyes. They held no emotion in them, dead.
“Get rid of the worm from her skin and tie her up. Make sure she reveals everything she knows.” His phone pinged, gaining his attention. “If you’re lucky, I’d be back before you’re dead. If you’re not, rest in peace.”
“Don! Don please wait” My cries fell on deaf ears as he walked away, not turning back on bit.
Now I was regretting playing blind all these while. I was scared of what he might make me do if he knew I could see everything.
I mean, he almost shot me for being present that day, hearing his conversation with Draco. Talk more of seeing everything. He definitely would’ve killed me or put me through something worse.
“You heard the Don.” One of the guards said, a dirty smirk on his face. He dusted the worm off my body. A relieved sigh escaped my lips but my skin itched me like I had caught some disease.
“Are you going to tell us the truth?” The other guard, pulled me up harshly.
“I need to talk to just the Don.” I told them, struggling with the rope on my wrist. No matter how hard i pulled, I couldn’t get it off.
“You are so funny. You should count yourself lucky that he got an important text or else, you would’ve been dead by now.”
Very true. The guards weren’t lying.
“So?” They tried pushing me to talk but my insecurity wouldn’t let me spill my darkest moment to them.
I needed to gauge his reaction while I told him. I didn’t mind waiting until he came back.
“Tie her up. She’s not ready.”
My eyes pooled with tears as I let them tie me up. I knew attempting to run or even fight back will be impossible. There were guards scattered everywhere in this house.
“Happy dying” The guards chuckled, watching me hang from the ceiling, my leg dangling in the air.
The chair tugged my hand, almost ripping it away from my body. Soft sobs left my lips, my heart squeezing in my chest.
“Please just get me Alessandro. I’ll tell him everything. I promise.” I pleaded, crying when one of the guards pulled me by my leg.
They both laughed, walking away.
I stayed there, hanging from the ceiling in a dark room for minutes and then hours, with no sight of Alessandro.
My hands had grown sore.
My mouth dry.
My eyes dropping close, slowly.
I had become numb from poor blood circulation.
A weak breath escaped my lips, my body giving into the darkness.

“She’s not dead.” A voice said.
“Then why the fuck is her eyes not opening, Alfred.”
Now that was Alessandro’s voice.
“She’s just exhausted. She needs rest.”
“I swear to God, if she doesn’t wake up tomorrow, I’ll incriminate her body” Alessandro sneered. “So if you don’t want that, you better make sure she wakes up.”
“It’s your choice, Don”
Oh no. I wasn’t going to let him make his choice with my life. He’d definitely choose to incriminate my body.
I forced my eyes open, groaning lowly - my shoulders were screaming in pain. My eyes first landed on the Doctor from the hospital and then at Alessandro.
“She can see?” The Doctor blinked, confused.
“Surprise. You may leave.” Alessandro frowned at him. The doctor packed his things from the ground, rushing out
My eyes took in my environment, moving around freely without the fear of being caught seeing by someone or something. I was still in the same dusty, unpainted room but this time, on the cold floor.
I raised my wrist, looking at the dark red mark that circled around them.
“You begged to talk to me.”
I raised my eyes up to meet Alessandro, appraising his look properly.
He had a sharp chiseled jaw line, his hair dark and slightly messy, a loosed strand falling to his face. His red lips were shaped in a thin line, adding more layers to his handsomeness. His eyelashes were long.
My eyes dropped down to his chest, peeping through the part that was exposed, eyeing the tattoo curiously.
How long did they run?
“You can check me out later your explanation is worth keeping you alive but for now, I’m running low on patience.” He frowned, his onyx eyes boring into mine.
They felt so toxic, yet pulling. They drew me in, subconsciously.
They looked like they hid a lot behind them.
“Can we go somewhere private?” I asked him, my voice weak.
A smirk danced on his lips, “So fast? Thought you were a virgin.”
I frowned at what he was insinuating, crunching my nose in disgust. “No, that’s not what I mean. It’s… this is important.”
He looked at me for a while before stretching his hand. I took them, letting him help me up. My legs wobbled a bit, forcing me to lean on him for support
His shoulder stiffened but he doesn't let me go, his hand wrapped around my waist firmly.
“I believe you know the way to your room. Meet me there.” He pulled his hands away swiftly, walking away, fast.
My legs were barely functional but i managed until I got to the room. He stood in the middle of the room, folding his arms.
“So?”
I shut my eyes, breathing softly. “I’m going to remove my dress”
I didn’t even wait for him to react as I pulled it off my body, holding the shirt to my chest. My back was turned to his face.
“What… what is this?”
I inhaled sharply when I felt his soft graze on my back. They were careful, like he’d break me if he added pressure in his touch.
“This is my story.” I told him, turning to face him. His eyes softened for a split second before going hard.
“My mother left when I was 10 and this was the only way my father could cope with her disappearance.” I explained, slipping on my shirt. “He’d come back drunk and pass out all his frustration on me, using anything within his reach. He always blamed me for her disappearance.”
“One day, he threw different empty glass bottles at me because he didn’t have money to drink anymore and one piece happened to graze my eyelid…”
“So you decided to act blind, hoping it’ll reduce the amount of torture.”
My eyes raised up to meet his. I nodded softly.
“It didn’t do much though but it helped. This happened 2 years ago when I was 20 years. I could tell what my fate would look like if I didn’t come up with something and that was like a saving grace.” I scoffed painfully. “Of course, I knew he wouldn’t take me to the hospital to confirm if I was really blind because he wouldn’t want anybody to know how abusive he was.”
My eyes caught onto the way he clenched his fist, his knuckle turning white . “My aunt wasn’t also helping. She was slowly indulging me in some kind of acts - Please, just believe me.”
He sighed heavily after a while of silence. “Okay.”
“Okay?” There was a quick relief in my heart.
“But” Of course, typical Alessandro. “This new change comes with a price.”
“Which is?”
He pulled me closer by my waist, startling me. “You…” He trailed his finger from my cheek to my neck, gripping it lightly “…listen to only me and be subjected to my control. Just like a pet.”
“The Don’s Pet” The words came out as a whisper.
“Exactly, Raven.” He looked down at my lips, smearing it with his thumb. “You’d do anything I ask of you without hesitation.”
“Anything? Like what?”
He leaned forward, his lips almost touching mine. My breath hitched softly, my mouth parting slightly, letting out soft breaths. I was suffocating from his intoxicating cologne.
“Anything I need, Raven. Your eyes, your soul and that pretty mouth of yours...they all belong to me."
I looked into his eyes and then his lips, swallowing hard. It was a deal of total submission.
“And the heart transplant deal? Will you call it off if I agree to this?”
His face turned serious. “Yes.”
“What’s the worst that can happen?”
The answer was ‘A lot’
He was fire and he was going to burn me.
Real bad.
“We’ll see.” He patted my cheek, grinning wickedly.
