Chapter 95 Sights set
Such a coincidence!
Both parties oblivious to what could have been, and how such a meeting could change the course of their lives.
Regardless, Isabella didn't have to worry about anything as Andreas' car turned the corner, driving at the same pace.
As planned, Luciano's man canvassed the city, looking for Isabella with the description they had before she left the mansion.
Their search only turned out futile, the men leaving as soon as they came as they had other places to search.
Because of this, they quickly ruled out Umbria from their search.
Her now short hair would probably annoy Luciano to the core, as that was the majority of what he thought about.
They would have never expected Isabella to make such a smart move.
Isabella arrived at the restaurant, her workplace the following day, unaware of what awaited her.
"Hi hi!", Celia said as she saw Isabella enter the restaurant.
"Hello!
Good morning!
How was your sleep?!", Isabella asked back, surprising Celia.
Quite surprised, Celia was very glad Isabella had moved on from the doula incident.
It wasn't much to write home about.
"Very good! Eaten anything yet!?", Celia asked as usual for the sake of the baby which wasn't much of a secret at that point.
"Yes I have! I ate a whole meal!", Isabella answered, approaching the back to drop her bag.
"Ohh! The manager's around!
She said she wants to see you!", Celia said as she went forward to attending to the first set of customers that walked in.
See me? Isabella asked herself, wondering what happened.
The manager rarely asks to see me, Isabella thought as she dropped her bag and approached the manager's office.
She stopped right in front of the office, The name tab on the door spelling out, 'Mrs De Luca'.
The woman scared her, thus, the sweaty palms she rubbed on her apron.
"Come on in!", Isabella heard after she briefly knocked.
"Buongiorno!", Mrs De Luca said as Isabella closed the door behind her.
"Good morning ma'am!", Isabella said, her tone quite shaky.
The glasses etched on top of her nose made her look even more daunting.
"Take a seat!", Mrs De Luca offered, signing a document.
Soon enough, her full attention was directed towards Isabella.
"How are you doing today?!", She asked, stunning Isabella.
It wasn't giving her the greatest idea, especially since she feared being fired.
What an Intro to sack someone, Isabella thought as she let out the breath she didn't know she was holding in.
"I'm doing very well ma'am!", Isabella replied.
"Okay! This is the first time we've had a pregnant staff! So I just want to clear out some things!", She started, her statement solidifying to Isabella that she would be fired.
"Alright ma'am!", Isabella acknowledged like she wasn't already thinking of a back up plan for herself and the baby.
"How long do you think you can hold off till your maternity leave?!"
"Till about the sixth or seventh month, or even the eighth month!", Isabella answered.
"Hmm
You'll work till your seventh month!
Then you'll be granted a maternity leave of five months.
Two months before birth and three months after birth.
How does that sound!?", Mrs De Luca asked, oblivious that she had tamed Isabella's wild thoughts.
"That sounds really nice ma'am...!", Isabella started, but was briefly interrupted.
"Ohh yeah, you don't have to worry about pay, you'll get maternity leave while at it!"
"Wow! That sounds marvelous ma'am! That really sounds nice!", Isabella said.
The ladies finalized some details, both parties satisfied with the agreement before Mrs De Luca dismissed Isabella to go back to her work.
A smile on her face, Isabella walked out, proceeding to the table where orders were laid to start her job for the day.
"Hey! What happened in there!?!", Celia asked, quite worried about how the meeting went, especially since Mrs De Luca hadn't requested Isabella's presence like that before.
"Nothing much! We went over my maternity leave!", Isabella answered.
"Ohhh! That's right!
You'll be off in a few months!
Leaving me all alone here!", Celia said, putting on such a dramatic look.
Laughing slightly, Isabella said, "Quit messing with me! Let's get back to work!
The customers won't serve themselves!"
Celia's statement made Isabella realize how much she was slacking.
She still hadn't contacted the doula agency.
She didn't need to disturb Celia while she waited the amount of people in the restaurant.
Regular check-ins would be nice, but, overall, she just wanted to make sure everything went well during the pregnancy.
That was what the presence of a doula would certify, especially since she was alone.
Her decision made her call several doula agencies during her lunch break.
After surfing through several brochures and speaking to several doula managers, she finally decided on the one she wanted.
She would be vetting the lady's services later on.
In Tuscany, The Morales family remained oblivious to the recent developments as they went about their business.
Quite glad they had found something to make extra income to get Isabella back, They also relished the fact they already had something to live by.
Following their previous payments, they had been able to pay a whopping sum of fifty million Euros over the past few months.
Luciano wasn't too concerned with how they did it, he only wished the payment was slower.
"We've managed to pay back over sixty million. We barely keep the profits to ourself! He should be able to tell us about our daughter!", Mrs Morales suggested to her husband as they looked at the receipt of payment on the monitor.
"Well you would say that because you weren't the one he choked the last time he drove in!", Mr Morales said, brushing off his wife.
He was more intent on paying back fully before he asked about Isabella.
He didn't want to incur any more of Luciano's wrath.
"But...
But we can't...!", Mrs Morales started, but was easily interrupted by her husband.
"No buts amore! We just need to work hard!
When we do! We get our daughter back!", Mr Morales said, telling his wife the comforting words he had formulated for every time he thought about the situation.
Said comforting words wouldn't be very comforting if they knew their daughter was several months pregnant.
