Chapter 72 Ruckus
“...Okay so these go in the store! We use that to clean tables and all!”, Celia said as she showed Isabella where the Cleaning liquids go.
“Okay! Anything else!?!”, Isabella asked as she helped Celia arrange the bottled liquids on the shelf.
“Nope, that would be all!”, Celia answered as she led the way out of the store.
It had been a whole week following Isabella's arrival to Umbria.
She had adopted a whole new personality, changing her hair, name and her general outlook on life.
She had gotten used to the fresh air of Umbria, some of the kind people there and the system of the hotel that concerned her.
Although she seldomly thought of her parents, Isabella didn't see herself visiting her family for a long while.
The freedom she had was unlike any she'd ever had.
It was a whole new experience for her.
“So, when we open again, do you think you can handle the customers?!”, Celia asked, looking towards the wall clock.
It was ten minutes to the end of their work break, thus, she was making light conversation with Isabella.
“I think I can! I'll just do my best!”, Isabella said as she followed around Celia doing the last few touches to the space.
Yes!
Isabella had gotten a job following the brief assault at the restaurant she wanted to apply at earlier on in the week.
Working in the new restaurant was rather simple and direct.
She didn't have to kiss up to anybody in order to get a job.
Celia was the only waiter in the restaurant, and they had been getting quite the exposure, thus, they needed an extra hand.
She opted to be paid by the hour.
A rather flexible option as she could work for as long as she wanted.
Working hard equated to getting a place for herself soon.
Isabella had been lucky enough to have walked past when the vacancy was being posted outside the restaurant.
“Maria!”, Celia called out.
“Please don't forget the napkins!”, she asked as she watched Isabella go back to the store.
“Got it!”, Isabella acknowledged.
Quite impressed by Isabella's work ethics, Celia just knew they were going to have a very good co worker bond.
Umbria felt like the safe haven she had been pining for since she faced Luciano's actual torments.
Isabella soon realized she was on her own! Thus, she was going to make the most of it.
Umbria was simply good for her.
The calm and fresh atmosphere Isabella enjoyed in Umbria couldn't be said about Milan, Luciano’s mansion to be particular.
The men and the staff of the house had never seen The Don in such a state.
His usual crisp appearance was replaced with a disheveled look.
The sight was definitely new to them.
He had become obsessed with getting the latest updates about Isabella's search.
Avoiding a direct answer everytime Andreas asked the reason he was hell Bent On finding Isabella.
He had expanded the search parties to the border regions of Milan.
If he didn't find her in any one of said places, he would expand his search to the whole of Italy.
Luciano had been conflicted for quite a while till he realized the reason for his emptiness.
It was more than just basic care and worry.
Luciano soon realized he had taken more than a liking to her.
A number of vehicles followed one after the other as the gates to the mansion were opened.
Luciano had come back yet again from another false sighting of Isabella.
That was the second false call since Isabella had disappeared.
It was now starting to look all bleak to Luciano.
Madam Paula approached the front door, not too surprised to see The Don slamming the door open in anger.
She could tell that the entire thing was getting on his nerves, but Luciano wasn't willing to hold a conversation with anybody if he wasn't giving an order.
Madam Paula had simply been waiting on Andreas to brief her on the situation, as she was also worried for Isabella.
Thus, she did again, unaware of the disappointment to come.
“Welcome back! Welcome!”, Madam Paula said as she closed the door behind Andreas.
“Thank you ma'am!”, Andreas said as he walked into the spacious living room.
“So how was it? Did you find her?!”, Madam Paula asked, expecting positive news.
“Uhmmm!
No ma'am!
We haven't found her yet!”, Andreas answered.
“What?!”, Why?!
Did you go to the wrong address or something?!”, Madam Paula asked, slightly disappointed with the news.
“No ma'am!”, Andreas answered.
“Then what happened?!”, Madam Paula questioned, not even allowing Andreas to speak.
“It was a false alarm! The person the men saw looked like Isabella, but she wasn't Isabella!”, Andreas explained.
“Oh!”, Madam Paula simply said as she sighed.
“Yeah! The Don wasn't too happy about that!”, Andreas said.
“I bet he doesn't!”, Madam Paula said.
She understood why The Don simply went up the stairs.
“Did the Don tell you what he wanted?!”, Madam Paula asked as Luciano didn't leave any order.
“Ohh! We ordered Chinese take out! It'll be here soon!”, Andreas answered as he went to his room.
More rest for me then, Madam Paula thought as she went towards her room.
She was starting to get used to the quiet that emanated from the mansion before Mia got Isabella as her gossip partner.
Suddenly, she missed their loud hyena laughs.
The situation was like the saying, ‘you never know the worth of something till you lose it!’
Still not having the slightest idea that Luciano had gone over to her parent's house and assaulted her family, Isabella continued to enjoy the life she was living in Umbria.
