Chapter 69 Independence
So much for a peaceful environment, Isabella thought wondering how she was going to get out of the situation.
“You're one of his whores right!? Isn't that why you're checking into the hotel!?!”, the lady asked, raising her voice with each word.
She soon gathered the attention of the people in the lobby.
“Ma'am! She's literally just checking in! She's new here!”, The receptionist said as she hadn't seen Isabella before.
The lady's husband was a regular and he usually switched ladies. The receptionist was very familiar with his antics.
“Oh yeah!!! What if she's his new bitch!?” the lady asked the receptionist as she directed a nasty glare towards Isabella.
“I'm not a local ma'am! I don't even know you or your husband!”, Isabella said.
“Please take me to my room!”, Isabella said, grabbing the keys that was labeled 19, as she directed her speech towards the other staff the receptionist had pointed out earlier.
The lady wasn't having it, thus, she pulled Isabella by the hair.
“Ma'am!”, the receptionist called out as the hotel didn't encourage violence in it's premises.
“Get off of me!”, Isabella said as she slightly pushed the woman.
The action had attracted the security personnels who had come to stand In between them.
“I don't even know you!”, Isabella said, arranging her appearance.
“I know you're one of his whores!!”, the woman claimed.
Not bothering to exchange any more words with her, Isabella looked towards the woman's husband.
She had simply glanced at him earlier, but, the drunk man looked nothing like what she was interested in.
She shook her head as she tried to get rid of the image of Luciano's body.
“Please show me to my room!”, Isabella said as she reckoned she needed rest.
“You're not going anywhere till I'm done with…!”
“Ma'am! You're causing nuisance here, I'm afraid you have to leave!”, one of the security personnel said.
Isabella continued to fix her appearance as she got farther and farther from where she had been assaulted moments before.
How crazy, I don't even know her!
She soon got to her room, mouthing a thank you to the staff that led her there.
The shower and power nap she needed seeming not so far away.
Isabella looked at the number that was hung on the door to her room as she closed it behind her.
She scanned the room, just like she had done the first time she was allocated a room in Luciano's mansion.
I need to stop thinking about anything related to that man!, Isabella thought as she dropped her bag to the floor and the keys on the nearest table.
She entered the room admiring the simple decor in her deluxe suite.
“Nice!”, Isabella said as she went towards the bathroom.
She looked towards the shower, the shower gels and the towel provided.
The thought of having a comfortable room and bathroom made her feel so giddy inside.
She quickly stripped out of her clothes, heading into the shower.
Rather happy to see everything she needed in one place, the burden of the cost of getting essentials seemed to dissolve.
It took a while as Isabella had taken an everything bath.
It seemed to lift her mood as she came out and wrapped the bathrobe provided around her body.
She looked at her reflection on the mirror as she braced herself for her new life.
“Maria Bertinelli!”, Isabella said to no one in particular as she dried her hair with another towel.
Dropping the towel, she saw a scissors, suddenly having a bright idea.
“Maria Bertinelli needs a new look!”, Isabella said as she grabbed the scissors and started snipping at her hair.
She cut her hair into a bob, unsure of how she felt about it as her hair was slightly wet.
I'm done for the day, Isabella thought as she left the bathroom.
She opened her bags to munch on the snacks she had gotten in order not to stay hungry.
She felt the fresh Umbrian breeze on her skin as she went to check if the door was locked properly.
Isabella, or Maria slept off as soon as she hit the bed.
She was finally having a comfortable sleep after the very uncomfortable positions she'd been putting herself in to finally be rid of Luciano.
The man in question got back to the mansion, bringing disappointing news as he hadn't seen Isabella.
The entire thing made him exhausted, thus Luciano had gone up the stairs in anger and also to get some rest.
Andreas followed after as Madam Paula watched some of the vehicles leaving the compound and the rest being parked properly.
“Andreas!
Andreas!”, Madam Paula called out hearing the front door open again.
“Ma'am!”, Andreas answered as he approached the kitchen.
“So, how was it! Did you find her?!”, Madam Paula asked as she held out hope for seeing Isabella.
“No ma'am! She wasn't in her parent's house!”, Andreas answered.
“So where is she?!”, Madam Paula asked again.
“I don't have an answer to your question ma'am! But we're working on finding her!”, Andreas said as he headed up to Luciano's room.
The attention Luciano was giving to the search for Isabella was far more than he had given any operation.
Where could she possibly be? Luciano pondered as he feeling of emptiness persisted.
He missed her reactions and at the point he felt he had done her wrong by not explaining the situation to her.
He didn't regret what had transpired as he wasn't sorry for what he did.
Isabella's face started to feel more like a memory than what he had actually seen.
The thought of finally losing her severing his heart strings.
An action that he wouldn't have expected in a million years.
Something had finally pulled at his heart strings after years of a bleak lifestyle.
Luciano finally admitting to his self that he had taken a liking to the lady in question.
