Chapter 63 Road Trip
“She had intended to leave!”, Andreas said as Madam Paula watched the video.
Andreas watched Madam Paula bring both her hands to cover her open mouth.
“We can't dwell on this for so long…!”, Andreas started.
“Why! What's going on?!”, Madam Paula asked as she didn't understand what Andreas was talking about.
“We need to find ways to get her back before The Don is discharged!”, Andreas said as he watched Madam Paula's face contort into realization.
“Could that be possible?!”, Madam Paula asked.
“Yes…!”, Andreas drawled, interrupted by Madam Paula
“Good then!”
“But, that can only be possible if she hadn't gone too far!”, Andreas finished.
“That's another thing to consider!”, Madam Paula admitted as she had failed to see that before.
“I'll get going now! I'll try my best to try and find her without The Don knowing about it!”, Andreas said.
“Right! We don't want anything to stress him out too much!”, Madam Paula said.
Quite frankly, Andreas didn't feel too good about keeping things from The Don.
Andreas left soon after, this time heading towards the office instead of the hospital.
“Did you see anything!?”, Mia asked as Madam Paula tucked the chairs under the table.
Madam Paula contemplated for a while wondering how best to tell Mia as she didn't know the entirety of the situation.
“Isabella left the mansion Mia!”, Madam Paula answered.
“What do you mean she did!? We asked the guards earlier and they said they didn't see her! Remember?!”, Mia asked, quite confused.
“Yes, we asked them! But, it turned out she hid in the trunk of the errand car!”, Madam Paula answered as she watched Mia’s confused face.
“Isabella was with us the whole ride to the market!”, Mia said, getting a gentle nod from Madam Paula as a reply.
“So! Does that mean she can still be found!?”, Mia asked again.
“I don't know just yet Mia, Andreas has gone to find a solution!”, Madam Paula said.
“What would happen if The Don finds out?!”, Mia pressed.
“I honestly don't know Mia! Let's just hope he doesn't!”, Madam Paula said.
The man in question had been stubborn, insisting that he had recovered and was more than ready to get back to action.
A nurse had tried to explain the situation to him, however, her reasoning made him angry, thus, he requested Doctor Luca himself.
“Wow Don! That was fast!”, Doctor Luca said as he entered to see Luciano standing by the window in the room.
“I told you I was already recovered Doc!”, Luciano said as he turned to look at Doctor Luca.
He had been in the hospital for a while, thus, his stubble was obvious, alongside the disheveled appearance.
“I understand Don! But there are certain protocols that must be followed before you're discharged sir…!”, Doctor Luca started.
“We still have to monitor your vitals, and make sure your ribs are healing fine. We don't want a situation where they're deformed or cause health problems later on!”
His explanation seemed to appeal to Luciano.
“A few more days!”, Luciano said.
“What's that sir?!”, Doctor Luca asked, not quite hearing The Don well.
“I said I'll stay a few more days to make sure!”, Luciano answered.
“Yes Don! That would be great!”, Doctor Luca replied.
“Do I need any more drugs?!”, Luciano asked as he approached the bed.
“No, not yet!”, Doctor Luca answered.
“Very well then!”, Luciano said.
“There's someone requesting to see you sir!”, Doctor Luca said as he remembered the young man he saw talking to Andreas earlier.
“Andreas?!”, Luciano asked.
“No Don, but he was having a conversation with Andreas the other day!”, Doctor Luca replied
“Let him in then!”, Luciano simply said.
Doctor Luca left the ward, Giovanni entering the ward immediately after.
“I have news Don!”, Luciano heard, recognizing Giovanni's voice.
“Talk to me!”, Luciano acknowledged as he closed his eyes while he laid on the bed.
“The brakes were manually cut sir! The security footage only documented the person's legs!”, Giovanni reported.
“There's a traitor in the mansion!”, Luciano said as he realized.
“Yes Don! It seems so!”, Giovanni agreed.
“Very well. Leave the flask on the table, get a nurse on your way out!”, Luciano ordered as Giovanni did exactly as he was told.
The injury on his mid section could have cost him his life, however, he was grateful it didn't.
The next line of action was finding this traitor.
Very early the flowing morning, Isabella packed her things, changing into fresh clothes with her hair tied up.
She intended to keep moving thus, that was exactly what she was going to do.
She had been lucky enough to converse with a farmer who was on his way to Umbria, his actual hometown.
She had never been there before, but she had heard about the mountain region.
Isabella didn't have to worry about food, as she had stocked up on snack bars and bottled water for her journey.
As far away as possible, Isabella thought as she thought of the new life she was going to create for herself.
Sitting at the back of the van, she didn't mind the hay and the stack of bags in the corner as she was comfortable enough.
She grasped her one bag closer to her chest tightly as she looked ahead, for the life that awaited her.
The ladies had still not gotten any news on Isabella.
Mia especially missed all the times they gossiped and the amount of times they giggled loudly in the mansion.
Isabella had grown on Mia and Madam Paula, thus, her sudden disappearance was bothersome.
Having no idea what had triggered such a reaction, the ladies remained oblivious to the fact that Luciano had forced himself on her once when he was under the influence of sexual stimulants.
Madam Paula heard the sound of vehicles entering the mansion as she had just woken up from sleep.
That was fast! She thought as she expected that Andreas had come by very early in the morning with news.
Madam Paula was rather shocked to see Luciano stepping out of one of the parked cars.
