Chapter 48 Mr Rossi
The car came to a halt right in front of the hall.
He watched as the guests entered one by one, readying himself for what to come.
The cameras rushed to him knowing exactly who had pulled up.
To the rest of the world, he was known as Luciano Rossi, an incredibly rich and sought after bachelor.
But only after deep research would you come to know he was the young and eligible Italian Mafia Don.
For the sake of the government, and the laws set in place, that had been the practice for years. He was merely just living it.
One of the valet's especially hired to work the event opened the door for him, despite the cameras which already started flashing in his face.
“This was going to be a night!”, Luciano said as he felt the front of his slicked back hair falling to his face.
The look making him even more devilishly handsome.
“Mr Rossi!”
“Over here!”
“Look at the camera!”
“One picture please!”
“Mr Rossi!”
The reporters called from separate angles as the door to the vehicle was opened.
Each of them were careful not to call him his actual title, scared for their jobs, and most of all, their lives.
The cameras flickered even more violently as they saw Luciano step out of the car.
The man was handsome, thus, whichever angle the camera men had taken his picture from, the results were nothing but sophisticated.
“This is going to be good for the headlines!”
“One more!”
“A moment please Mr Rossi!”
“What are you putting on today?!”
“One more picture please!”,
The voices from the reporters and the cameraman who struggled to get the scoop of his entire being died down as he entered the hall.
Andreas who had entered way before him approached him as he entered the hall.
It was like the whole hall turned to him as soon as they smelt his perfume.
Those who were brave enough vocalized their greetings, while those who didn't have the courage simply gave him a look.
His strides seemed effortless as his shoulders remained squared.
He approached the table reserved for him as Andreas led the way.
“Mr Rossi! Would you like a drink?!”
“Do you need an accomplice Mr Rossi!?”
“Can I be of any help to you Mr Rossi?!”
The voices of the ladies offering him things he didn't want disgusted him.
Then, one would ask why he didn't really fancy social gatherings.
Anyone in the same position as Luciano would literally detest social gatherings.
He approached the reserved table where he saw his name. Raising one eyebrow, Luciano was sure that Mei Ling was aware that he was sent an invitation.
“She knew I was going to come!”, Luciano said to Andreas as they sat on the table.
“I mean, that kind of deal was something very hard to pass by!”, Andreas replied, referring to the deal she had made with Luciano earlier.
She agreed to completely leave the weapon market of Italy to Luciano if he'd agree to come to her gala.
Luciano just wasn't sure if the woman wanted more.
She looked like she was civilized, yet, she hid the most wanton parts of her.
Looking around with his green eyes, Luciano scared away the people stealing glances at him as they whispered.
“How long will this last?!”, Luciano asked Andreas.
“However long you want it to Don, I'm not the one dealing with a crazy ex!”, Andreas replied.
“Ouu really!? Besides, nothing happened back in Bologna!”, Luciano said in defense.
“The accuracy of that is left to the both of you. Look alive, your crazy ex is coming this way!”, Andreas said as he sighted the host of the gala, Mei Ling herself.
“I said she's not an ex…!”, Luciano started in frustration.
“Stay on stand by regardless!”, Luciano completed as Andreas plugged in earpods.
It was a way to show that he was giving privacy to the Don and his guest, but he wasn't actually listening to anything.
It was also a security measure, to make sure he could give them the privacy they needed, but still stay alert in case of a security breach.
Luciano turned to see Mei Ling, the host in question with overly propped breasts.
She had intended to entice him, as he was the reason she threw the gala, but she had no idea she was repelling the man.
She looks like she's uncomfortable!’l, Luciano thought as he averted his eyes.
Mei Ling had thought that wearing a sultry dress would catch the Don's attention. She might have probably relaxed if she accepted that Don didn't have any feelings for her.
She walked to his table, ignoring the rest of the guests as he was the prize. To her at least!
Mei Ling discreetly sent a signal for the plan about to be executed.
The signal was for everyone to get in their positions, so the plan would be executed smoothly.
“Luciano!”, Mei Ling called out happily as she stopped right in front of his table.
“Good evening Mei Ling!”, Luciano replied flatly.
“You know, I'm really happy you honored my invitation!”, Mei Ling said.
Taking a while to reply, Luciano finally said, “How could I not?! The deal you offered was really hard to pass by!”.
Mei Ling only saw this as an opportunity, thus, she gave the signal.
“You know, I never really understood why you wouldn't want to be with me.
Do you know the amount of prowess we could have had together?!”
“I don't want to know Mei Ling! I've told you several times over that this wouldn't work!”, Luciano replied.
Mei Ling had realized soon enough that Luciano wouldn't willingly give her what she wanted, thus, she was going to take it.
Andreas raised his head from his tablet, slightly watching Mei Ling's body language.
She's up to something!, Andreas thought.
“Okay! Fine! I'll get out of your hair after this! Can we toast to that!?”, Mei Ling asked, signaling the intended waiter with the drugged drinks.
“Definitely!”, Luciano said, failing to see that Mei Ling wasn't going to give up so easily.
“Over here!”, Mei Ling called out to the intended waiter, making it seem like the timing of everything following her call to the waiter wasn't already planned.
“This is a rich mix the bartender whipped up. Here, tell me what you think?!”, Mei Ling said as she passed the weird colored drink prepared in advance.
Andreas had been there beforehand for a reason, thus, he knew something was wrong somewhere.
