Chapter 19 Blurring Boundaries
“The Don is in the living room! He told me to call you and go back to my room!”, Mia said.
“Okay!”, Isabella replied, her calm facade still on display
“I’ll be in my room! Good luck!”, Mia said as she watched Isabella head to the living room.
She hadn't broken a vase before, thus, she wondered about the punishment it attracted.
“Maybe he'll cut her salary till she pays it back!”, Mia thought as she stared at Isabella's figure as she walked towards the living room.
However, Isabella wasn't working to be paid, but Mia didn't know this.

Isabella walked towards Luciano as he sat on the couches in the living room, a laptop opened in front of him as he typed away.
All the lights in the living room had been turned off, except one that was really close to where Luciano sat.
The sound made by the keyboards as Luciano pressed them suddenly stopped when Isabella came to a halt in front of him, her head bowed.
Isabella calmed her heart rate and her breathing as she wondered if Luciano had noticed she was in front of him.
His eyes remained fixed on the monitor, his hair wet as a result of the rain.
She doubted Luciano, as he had picked up on her gentle footsteps as she approached the living room.
“What did you do!?!”, Luciano asked as he averted his gaze from the monitor to her face.
“I…!”Isabella started, but was suddenly cut short by Luciano.
“You look me in the eye when I'm talking to you!”, he said as he watched Isabella raise her head and put her hand behind her back.
As she raised her head, Isabella struggled to look straight into Luciano's green eyes, however, not to incur any more of his wrath, she maintained eye contact with those daunting green eyes.
“I, I broke a vase in your room sir!”, Isabella confessed as her hand traced her fingers behind her back.
“How do you intend to pay for the vase?!”, Luciano asked, going straight to the point.
“I, I can work longer than I'm supposed to, sir! I'll do better in my job sir, I can…!”, Isabella drawled as she was cut short by Luciano.
“I'll add the cost of the fees to the amount your father has to pay!”
“No, sir, sir, he can barely pay back the amount he owes, I can't do this to him!”, Isabella said as the green eyed man in front of her didn't show any mercy.
“You should have thought of that before you broke the vase!”, Luciano said.
“Please, please sir! I'll do anything, just, just please don't add it to the amount he owes!”, Isabella said in desperation.
The word ‘anything’ lingered in Luciano's mind as he looked at Isabella.
He had watched the footage from his living room, thus, he knew she didn't break it intentionally, however he wasn't going to let her off so easily.
“Go stand in the rain till I tell you to come back in!”, Luciano said, causing Isabella's eyes to widen.
“Sir, sir, the…!”
“You heard me! Don't make me repeat myself!”, Luciano said as he opened his laptop to continue with the task he was doing.
“Please sir, I…!”
“Now!”, Luciano simply said as he gave Isabella a final look.
Isabella, scared out of her wits, didn't have it in her to refute any longer. Thus she walked towards the front door, the sound of the rain splattering on the ground becoming louder.
Isabella looked back at Luciano, not surprised to see he had gone back to what he was originally doing.
Isabella took steady breaths as she slowly opened the door.
The sound of the rain hitting the ground becoming very loud.
“Out! And stay in the rain!”, she heard Luciano say as she rushed out of the door.
As she stood by the door, she remembered the last words Luciano said.
‘in the rain!’
Isabella took deep breaths as the cold worked its way to her body.
She took ten steps into the yard, away from the warmth of the mansion, and the cover the roof provided.
Her clothes started to get drenched as the rain was heavy and the breeze was cold.
She was the one that offered to do anything, thus, she accepted the punishment Luciano had given her.
Tears rolled down her eyes as she put her hands in her apron.
“Stupid me! I shouldn't have broken the vase!”, she whispered to herself as she reflected on her actions.
Her head still bowed, Isabella stood in the rain for what seemed like several hours as she didn't have any method of telling the time.
The cold paired with the heavy rain caused her to start wobbling on the spot, and just when she couldn't take it anymore, the fierceness of the rain started reducing.
Regardless, that didn't stop Isabella from feeling the cold.
Her skin turned Pale as her body couldn't endure such horrific conditions. She stood in the rain for almost two hours.
Said time wouldn't seem much for someone who snuggled in their pillows embracing the warmth around them, but for Isabella who stood on a single position under a heavy rain, it seemed like ten hours.
Already shivering with cracked lips, Isabella hugged herself even tighter as her legs started to ache seriously.
She was surprised to see lights in a rectangle stretching from the door.
She raised her head to see Luciano standing by the open door.
Madam Paula was next to rush out, Placing an umbrella over her head as she helped her inside.
Entering the house, Isabella looked around wondering where Luciano had gone since he wasn't by the entrance.
Madam Paula took pity on her as she saw how ghostly pale she looked with her hair and entire body dripping wet.
She had expected Luciano would send her back or something, not make her stand in the rain.
Wrapping several towels around her body alongside Mia, Madam Paula led Isabella to her room, where she helped her change and get into comfy clothes.
She left Isabella's room, once again reminded of Luciano's wrath.
‘what if I was the one in that position?!’
‘I don't even want to find out!’, Madam Paula said to herself as she turned towards her room.
