Chapter 80 He will pay for that
Kylian POV
My eyes spurred open as I saw that the blood was as a result of gunshot.
She froze as she noticed the sharp pain in her shoulder.
My eyes were fixed at her when I fortunately caught the shooter aiming his gun at me.
There's no doubt that he tried to shoot me during his first attempt. However, Rose was in the way of the bullet.
In a spur of a moment I got her out of the way before the bullet could strike another hit.
That was a really close one.
"Ah!" she suddenly muttered as she was beginning to feel the pain.
We were bending low behind a seat.
The mysterious assassin was still at his position.
Looks like someone had instructed him to bring back my head at all cost.
The people at bar began to run to save their lives.
I held Rose firmly in order to get her out of safety.
We crawled away from sight quickly.
The assassin noticing that we were no longer there, began to run in began to run in set of Us.
I held Rose and made a quick run with her to the exist.
The assassin dis not relent in chasing after us.
whoever sent him must have paid him handsomely to being in such an active spirit.
I bet Evan has organized this assassination. I should have killed him when I had the chance.
Rose was was turning weak as her injury began hurting her the more.
She was losing blood and needed treatment fast.
There's no way I'd be able to escape with her when she can barely even run.
I looked for a great spot where we hid.
It wasn't really a good spot, but it was the only option we had. The back of a car.
I peeped through the car to see if the assassin would trail us.
He walked out of the bar, still holding his gun and looking for me.
I heaved a sigh of relief as I saw how confused he was about finding me.
I waited patiently for him to leave so that we can escape.
He began walking towards our direction which got me suspicious.
I wonder if he found out that we were hiding there or was just suspicious that we may be.
Coming out of that hideout would truly reveal us.
I wait patiently for him to get close in order to truly confirm that he had caught us.
He stopped just by the driver's door of the car.
It appears that the car belongs to him.
He had gotten a phone call which had made him stop initially.
He answered the phone call and paused to hear what the called has to say.
"Is the job done?" the caller questioned.
"Not yet, but I assure you the task would be completed tonight" the assassin replied.
He sounded so sure of himself, like he was certain we weren't far from his reach.
I wasn't with my gun and that is why I have become vulnerable.
"You couldn't even do a simple task quickly. I thought you said you got him" I heard the caller's words through the phone.
"I almost got him, but someone stood in the way" he explained the reason he didn't kill me earlier.
"What!" the caller exclaimed loudly. "I told you no one else must get involved!" he added.
The assassin ended the call immediately.
He knew that his boss was not happy with the feedback of not killing me.
He opened then car's door to get in when he suddenly heard a lady's groan.
Rose groaned softly, she was exhausted and pained.
There was no way to escape anymore, the only option I was left with was facing him.
He cracked his gun and began pacing quickly to the back of the car.
He was shocked to see only Rose at the back of the car.
He hissed and attempted to kill her, but before he could do that, I grabbed him on the neck from behind.
I held him tight to choke him, but he rose me from the ground and smacked me on the floor before him.
I groaned and quickly killed his gun away before he shot at me.
I summersaulted and stood up on my feet and then, we both engaged in a combat.
He was skillful, but I didn't feel like I was actually in a defeatable match.
The number of my punches that landed on his faces were more than mine.
I even made him hit the floor.
He struggled to get his gun from the distance I threw it to, but I pulled him back and kicked him.
He knew he was powerless against me, so the only option he had was running away.
Quickly, he got into the car and drove off quickly.
I heaved a sigh of relief and waited for his car to go out of sight totally.
Turning back to Rose, she was already fainted on the floor.
Oh no! I sighed and took her in my arms immediately.
I ran hastily and put her in my car.
I drove off quickly like a criminal who was being chased.
I was in the gates of the hospital in no time.
Still carrying her in my hands, I ran inside to get her treated.
The doctor was quick to attend to her.
He pulled out the bullet and dressed her wounds.
He also administered some prescriptions she would have to take for a while in order to recover.
He had warned me not to skip a day to give her this.
The doctor must have mistaken me to be her husband or someone related.
I snubbed at the thought of it.
He was suddenly curious to know how she got shot by a bullet.
I confessed that it was a stray bullet.
The doctor assured me that she would be alright and that she needed rest for a while.
This means she would be staying in the hospital for the night.
The doctor advised me to stay by her side all through the night.
Huh!
Is he insane?
How can he ask such a thing from me?
Who sleeps in a hospital unless they have too?
I rolled my eyes and sat by her side.
If I'm doing this, it's only because she was shot in my place and that is all.
I heaved a sigh of relief as I thought of how stressful it's going to be for me.
I asked the doctor to provide me with another bed, which he adhere to.
I was also in need of water to drink, which he provided.
Agh! It's annoying how he treats me to my demands.
I examined Rose for a while before going to sleep on the other bed the doctor had provided.
I took my phone and type a message to Rayven, telling him that I wouldn't be returning home that night.
I put my phone aside and placed my hands upon my chest in order to sleep.
I laid on my back and looked at the ceiling for a while.
It was hard to fall asleep, knowing that someone had the intentions of killing.
Evan, has tried his shot, but I guess his unqualified assassin had failed him.
I gnashed my teeth angrily as I thought of teaching him a lesson.
He won't know what would hit him when I decide to strike.
I won't let him get away so easily when he hurt Rose and almost killed me.
He would pay for that I promise him.
