Chapter 178 Your solid ground
Vanessa's POV
I narrowed my eyes at this person and there he was, my ticket to revenge.
My eyes scruntized the hall, it spoke of wealth and only the affluents were privileged to be a guest.
It felt like paradise.
The red roses in my hands and the child beside me who often wonders if I adopted him made me flinch.
Sincerely, I don't even know who his dad was among these four men but I don't care.
My son's excitement was that he had a father and an emperor at that which certainly means he would be the next.
Oh I couldn't wait for this man to die just to put myself on the throne not a son who was a scar from my past.
When the Pope had repeated the same questions, I stared at the man opposite me and said;
"Yes I do"
The loud roar and the thunderous claps struck me. Everyone had a smile of a joker and they made me terrified.
My eyes were glaring at him as I stiffen my grip on the bouquet of roses.
Their gossips were crashing in my head. Mave growls and titters to a corner. If it were her wish, she would have tore them to shreds.
Their fake gestures and wishes that we stay happily ever after or never after.
My bridesmaid wave at me to throw the bouquet at them but I held it.
I didn't want them to have a life of mine and it was best I die with it.
I hated people who smile so much because they were the vile ones.
My breath was almost ceasing and my back accidentally rest on his broad chest.
He was behind me like a shield and his hands holding my shoulders gently.
I felt his breath fanning me neck and I shuddered. Mave retracted mouth jabs.
Rolling my eyes, I met his cold gaze. I rudely pulled out from his hold, faced him with a glare.
He let out a sided smile and he leaned his plump lips to my ear.
"Don't look at anything but me"
Before I could digest those lines, flowers rain on us and he stretched his hand to me. Nervously I took it, faking a smile and taking all the hugs from well-wishers.
I was hating the moment, especially when he was becoming clingy and preventing the crowd from drawing near.
Cameras flooded my eyes and I was forced to look at him alone just to avoid the blinding lights.
"Let me be your solid ground Eve" he pressed on jokingly.
His job was to be my husband and not say lines that pisses me off.
Fluttering my lashes, I shun his words hoping to fly away. Mave and I were just tired of hearing those lines from men.
Probably, I should have become gay but he was my target.
I cleared my throat as I wasn't expecting those lines. That was a sign that we should leave because I was nervous around crowds.
My goosebumps were almost out but I have to conceal them or else a huntsman might just pomp out of the blue and kill me.
Speaking of which, Alvin was staring at us both.
He was the first to approach us. I was standing beside my groom.
"Let me guess, your first wife wasn't enough huh?" He complimented and I obstructed his view.
"You're welcome" my lips snapped with a wicked smile.
My groom rolled his eyes as I sensed he was tired of the formality.
Alvin narrowed his brows looking confused and has no choice than to leave us be.
He tries to be descent but I know that was just his charm acting like the good one when he was vile.
Majority of the guests here do not want this wedding, neither approve us. But they can't change fate, I will be their empress.
I stood with pride, smiling more broadly. This was my first ever wedding that came through but with a man I despise.
Harry stormed towards us, I could feel it, the sadness in his eyes that he would be having another mother.
"Seriously, dad?" He muses stretching a gift at me and I boldly collected it.
"Thank you...I will be the best mom ever, son" I replied giving him a sweet chuckle.
"We will be brothers!" Denver my son announced to him.
Harry didn't seem pleased by that his expression proves so.
He shook his head, stepped back a bit and then scoffed at me.
His mother was behind him, snarling at me like a viper waiting to unleash her poison. Too bad, she let her husband lose.
I noticed she took a peek at the chandelier and then at me before vanishing with prince harry.
"Oh man! Congratulations, I guess you dick never grows old!"
Tyler commented chuckling mischievously as he stutters towards me, intending to embrace me but my groom pushed him away.
His husky voice disrupted my thoughts.
How disgusting he was. I couldn't believe I fell in love with this man!
That hard pull almost sent Tyler to the ground but luckily, there were two bodyguards to keep him balanced.
I sniffed as the alcohol from his mouth stinks, it irritates mave who licks her paws.
"Watch your manner, she's my wife" he whispers politely at tyler and I pretended not to hear that.
Well that was another catchy line from this groom of mine.
He has a way of making my heart flutter but I won't fall for that.
Tyler scoffs and raises his hands in the air while leaving us alone.
Fluttering my eyes, I intended to walk away to clear my head and continue my game plan but he pulled me back and I crashed on his chest.
"Awwn!!!" The young ladies gestured having their wishes. I guess the girls drool over him not minding if he could be their great grandfather.
Everyone dies at the family dinner tonight and so today would be the last of him. I had frown as I let out my claws to dig into his chest if he tries anything stupid. It doesn't matter if we were in public.
I was nervous that my whisk pulled out, then the fur around my ears, I was puzzled trying to cover my face with a veil but then his hand went around my head and covered my face partly.
Only my lips were left out. That was close to being realized as a wolf.
We were staring at each other.
"Do you care if I call you..."
"What!" I snapped not liking the situation as I felt all mousey under his constant hot gaze.
I was just realizing how handsome he looks and gosh he was damn hot.
"My woman"
