Chapter 176 Where is my daughter
Dave's POV
Her father would be here soon and please let there be no psychological situation or else my head would go for it.
Her fans must be right outside waiting for her with gifts, cards.
They've termed me a viper already, tarnishing my image when few months ago, I was the boyfriend of the nation, how pathetic.
I cupped her cheeks with one hand and insert her hair in her ears while letting out a weary smile, staring intensively at her.
"Thank you for staying alive, Vanessa"
She snapped my hand away, weirdly staring at me.
"Is this the past? You're freaking me out Dave, Where's mom, dad...oh God my daughter"
She panics and I was so puzzled watching as she jerked up from the bed, tearing off the intravenous fluid fixed on her.
Vanessa was scared of something, and her act made me anxious.
I rose up, trying to keep her calm while placing a call to the doctor.
She placed her palms on my shoulders and then pant heavily. Her eyes searching mine as though they'd draw out my soul.
"Dave, my daughter, is she alive? How did you find me..."
She haven't complete her statement when my phone buzz.
That's a relief, I can step out while the doctor would check on her sanity. I didn't give her a response but gestured to her that she'd be fine.
I couldn't respond to the call in her room and I hurried outside to do so.
I didn't even spend a minute and when I returned to her ward, she was gone!
There was tension in the air and I felt the weight of fear that lingers around.
The doctor and the nurse came in, they seem surprised too as we were staring at an empty bed. My shoulders jumped to my ears when I heard gun shot outside.
The nurse with us collapsed, the tray in her hand falls on her face.
That was don piccolo, his grand entrance. The doctor had sweat bead on his face and i was the only normal person in this ward.
He was suddenly telling me he has a family and that I should save him.
I opened the door knob, intending to pace out, to find her only to bumped into don Miguel and his men who cock their guns and then pointed at my face.
"Where's my daughter?"
Vanessa's POV
The pain, the heartache, it all came flooding back, threatening to overwhelm me.
My head throbs as I felt dizzy, trying to hold on to something just not to fall.
I was walking in circles, pushing anyone on my path.
The sound of his voice was like a key turning in a lock, unlocking a floodgate of memories and emotions.
That was Dave, my stepbrother, why was he here? It's been a year since we last saw, after that fire incident.
My vision was blurry and I was missing my steps but tried to maintain balance.
My long hair covered my face and I could barely see yet I kept walking.
No one was stopping me because they seem too busy.
I was losing my breath, struggling to crawl out from this hospital.
The smell of disinfectant hits my nose as I walked barefooted, outside the hospital.
"I need to get to Nora" I mutters pushing through the patients on my way.
Outside, there was a large crowd, holding posters of a famous celebrity who I hate so much.
Some prayed, some cried and some took selfies of themselves.
Bouncers were everywhere, outside, It was so hard to come out and so the back door helped me.
Pacing outside, I was greeted by the harsh sun, my feet were burning. It felt like my soul was drained.
I managed to board a cab, the driver seem scared as though he was staring at a ghost.
However, I jumped in. Inside the car, I could see someone with a new paper, covering her face, as she let out a silent hiss.
My slender body shrink itself as I wrapped my arms around my knees, nervous and staring at the tilted window until her voice eluded my thoughts.
"I'm sure it's her husband who shot her and pushed in the pool"
A spark of hope flickers in my eyes as I glanced at her.
That was quite familiar, could it be Ivan was figured out? But I wasn't shot, I was stabbed.
Nevertheless, the truth was out and at last, justice would be served.
I packed my hair into a bun, irritated by how I looked, anyone would guess i escaped from a psychiatric ward.
"Did he get arrested?" I questioned, thrilled and staring at the paper.
She drew down the newspaper, wearing a sad look but when she threw her gaze at me, she screamed and that frighten i and the driver.
I shuddered where I sat, tensed and feeling an acid welling in my stomach.
"Oh my gosh!" She screech sitting properly and rubbing her eyes to see clearly.
Then she suddenly took out her phone, glanced at her screen and then exclaimed while taking photos of me.
Everything was happening fast and I fluttered my eyes, feeling nausea and stressed.
"I'm a huge fan miss Vanessa!" She cried going on her knees and bowing at me.
The driver took a peek at me, then suddenly tune in his radio and the first news that got to my ears was;
"Miss Vanessa survive but currently went missing under the watch of her irresponsible husband..."
I flinched, coiling myself to a corner, my eyes tread to the rear mirror and I noticed the color of my eyes were quite different.
That was the name Dave called me. I just don't want to think of anything except my daughter Nora.
I tried to stop her from worshiping me because it was absurd yet she wouldn't stop.
She introduced herself and that name didn't register. She gave me her shoes too and do not mind going to work barefoot.
