Chapter 12 A queer experience
I knew when he left me, it was two hours after the call and as usual, didn't forget to write a note of being away on a business trip. Probably I heard wrong about the eliminating part and just filled my head with nonsense.
Anything I wanted was just right there for me, but why wasn't I seeing him yet? I felt he was long gone enough. Perhaps, because I was missing a man at this moment that i crave to see him.
Then a thought came to my mind. Surprising him at the office. There was no harm in knowing him more. Well, before he left, he specify that he would be back on the seventh day, and finish up something in the office.
That's why I wanted to visit him, to see for myself how his days in office runs.
Quickly, I dressed up elegantly, to look mesmerizing. He has done more than enough for me to deserve my appraisal. I prepared a delicious homemade food of different kinds as I couldn't really decipher his favourite. He'd choose.
Unfortunately, the maids wouldn't let me out not even a little pleasantry changed their mind. I couldn't believe I had to sneak out when they were busy. Even in this house, I had to crawl out whenever I wanted.
Oddly enough, I didn't even know the direction I was going but I was prepared. Holding on to the basket in my hand. I blushed and came across the first crosswalk. The only name of his company chavla ring in my head and so that was my destination.
I boarded a taxi who drove me to the site but unfortunately, I didn't get to meet him. I was a little disappointed as I thought he'd resume that early. Although, the eyes adorned the magnificent building.
None of the workers knew me as he hadn't officially introduced me as his or he never would because we wouldn't last long. That saddens my heart and I gave room to forlorness.
Walking out of the place, I realized it was dark. Indeed it was a long drive to this place and I wonder how he manages. It must be hectic for him. Well nonetheless, we'd meet at home.
I suddenly desired to walk on foot, visit a grocery and use all the freedom I had now until he comes. All I wanted was to get as far away from this place as possible.
I found myself wandering the streets of the city, trying to clear my head. It was getting late, and the streets were mostly empty.
The only sound was the distant hum of traffic and the occasional footsteps of a passerby.
I felt like I was in a daze, like i was just going through the motions without really being present.
I walked for what felt like hours, but eventually, found myself in front of a small cafe. The boredom I got was really annoying.
The lights were still on, and I could see a few people sitting at the tables inside.
I didn't want to go in, but i was cold and tired and i needed somewhere to rest. So, against my better judgment ,I pushed open the door and stepped inside.
The smell of coffee and baked goods hit me as soon as I entered, and i immediately felt a little more at ease.
I ordered a cup of coffee and sat down at one of the empty tables. I let the warmth of the cafe seep into my bones, and closed my eyes, trying to relax. At least, I should enjoy the moment while it last.
But I couldn't escape the thoughts that were swirling in his head. I took a sip of my coffee and felt the warmth spreading through my body.
I realized I was hungry, and I looked up at the menu on the wall. There were a variety of sandwiches, salads, and pastries to choose from.
I decided on a turkey sandwich and a piece of pie. I sat back in his chair and waited for my food to arrive.
As I sat there, I thought about all the ways my life had changed in the last two months.
Somehow, I felt someone was watching me and the queer feeling made me frighten. Immediately I was done, I stood up to leave because it was such a bizzare hour to be caught outside.
I felt ravyen must have returned home and he would be freaked out not to find me. Probably, he might vent his anger on the maids.
He was a gentleman and so he would probably understand.
Unfortunately, I didn't know where I was and just kept going. The path I took was quite lonely but the road was clear and so I didn't think of anything negative that might come my way.
Luckily, I had my phone and tried to call the chauffeur. I had a chauffeur which ravyen hired for me but I never got to drive out. It was just for a flag off.
Today, I needed him. Oddly, I couldn't get to him. I felt doomed resuming my walk. My legs were becoming numb as there was no one around that I could even ask for direction. Why did I ever try leaving the house without considerations? How tired I was.
Then something came to my notice after my countless walks, a vehicle was following me. I heard it's rumbles from behind. Nervously, I rolled my eyes and discovered that there was a dark vehicle behind me.
It suddenly let out its headlights which were blinding. I had to cover my face to adjust to the bright light. I heard its rumbles as its engines were ignited. The vehicle began to drive closer to me.
At first, I thought it was a reckless driver and stepped aside but then, the rider swivel the steering around and moves backward to where I stood.
Once again, I jilt away before it could rush at me but then, it halts and begins another drive to my direction.
Then it occurs to me that something was up. Hastily, I began to run, the basket fell from my hand and my lips screamed for help. Suddenly, the people I saw around this area faded away like a thin of air.
What was happening? The squish sounds from the tires were disturbing and it makes my heart quake to an extent I almost stumbled.
It wasn't a clear path and I had to race through hurdles to secure myself, however, this vehicle obstructed me.
