Chapter 112 It was a nightmare

Chapter 112 It was a nightmare

Rayven's POV
I heard the door open but was still concentrated in arranging the food on the plate.
It was probably Arianna who had gone out.
I know she would love this meal.
I have spent three hours making the same meal for the fourth time.
Obviously, it's not entirely my fault. Eggs are hard to handle while frying.
I was lucky the fourth one turned out to be perfect.
I placed the plates on a tray and took out orange juice from the fridge.
I poured the juice into a glass and gulped it down.
"Ah!" I exclaimed in satisfaction and placed the juice on the tray alongside the food I have prepared for her.
I smiled warmly and made my way to go and serve her.
I guess I am now perfect in keeping a smile, thanks to Arianna who made me feel alive again.
Her pregnancy marks a new beginning for us.
I can't believe I'm going to be a father. I just can't wait to hold her baby in my hands and feel her with kisses.
I just hope she's a girl. I want to have another Arianna in the house.
I was lost in my thoughts and didn't notice the opened door of the living room.
I placed the tray on the table and walked to Arianna's room to get her over here.
My initial thoughts were to take the meal to her room, but I wanted her hold her waist and walk her to the living room.
I knocked on the door gently to alert her that food was ready.
I didn't wait for a reply before opening the door and going in.
She wasn't on her bed, but I suspected she was hiding.
If only she had known that I was good at seeking.
Playing hide and seek used to be my favorite game as a mafia.
I never ceased to impress my preys with my unexpected presence.
I scoffed and walked straight to the bathroom expecting to see her there.
It turned out that she wasn't.
Whoa! Turns out that she has succeeded in outsmarting me.
"Great Ari---Just great!" I remarked openly and began a thorough search for her in the room.
I opened the wardrobe and tugged out the clothes from the hangers with the suspicion that she was hiding behind it.
Unfortunately, she was no where to be found in the room.
"Come on Arianna! Stop this, you've got me" I spoke out loud.
"Hmm!" I muttered with an irked expression. There was an unusual silence.
If my suspicions were right, she probably walked out of the room when I got into the bathroom to check for her there.
I hastened my pace and went into the living room.
My eyes met with the have open door.
I didn't know whether to be worried or still go on with the hide and seek game.
Did she leave leave a clue for me to find her.
With uncertainty, I walked out gently and observed the door step.
My heart was suddenly racing and I felt a sign of fear.
I took out my phone and placed a call to her immediately to confirm my doubts.
Her phone was ringing, but there was no reply. Could she really be hiding?
I questioned myself and tried to keep the positive thoughts.
However, I saw a car drive out rashly just from a distance.
"Arianna!" I muttered and began to chase after the car.
It was black and had it's number scratched with a paint to prevent a proper view.
I felt Arianna was in that car.
I ran with all my energy put in my legs, but there was no way I could catch up with the car.
"No---No! Please stop!" I yelled as I chased after the car that sped rashly on the way.
"Please, don't take Arianna!" I pleaded with uncontrollable tears rolling down my cheeks.
I felt my legs slowly down in speed.
I wanted to catch up so badly.
My Arianna has been kidnapped and now I have no clue on how to help her.
"Help!" I began yelling, to see if I could attract neighbors.
However, there was no one coming.
I fell down on the way, and the car drove out of sight before I knew it.
Arianna was taken away ony watch. How could I have let this happen?
I buried my face upon the ground and let out a yell.
Stretching my hands to the empty road, I muttered her name once more.
I jerked up quickly, not willing to take defeat.
I must find Arianna no matter what it takes me.
I rushed back to my garage and picked a car.
In seconds, I was on the road, trying hard to track the trails of the car.
It wasn't until I appeared on the express that I lost the tracks.
"No!" I yelled and began hitting my horn all of a sudden.
I was at the middle of the road, and I was causing traffic unknowingly to me.
Other cars kept horning at me to move, but I never gave a single reply to any of them.
I just kept yelling like an angry lion.
Of course I was angry, and full with rage for who ever was behind the kidnap of my wife.
I will make them pay for causing me pain.
My breath was descending heavily, my eyes were clouded with tears.
A knock came upon my window.
An elderly man was saying something to me, but I was too lost in my thoughts to hear what he was saying.
I got out of the car on his command and then he kept nagging at me that I was blocking the road.
Boiling with rage, I gave him a punch on his face and he landed instantly on the floor.
I jacked him up and grabbed his neck attempting to kill him on the spot.
My mind was totally lost, I wasn't thinking straight.
Other car owners got down to assist the man out of my grip.
I could see him losing his breath, but I didn't care. I felt he was only adding to my pain.
Finally, they saved his life.
I walked away from the crowd into my car.
My leg stamped upon the brake causing the car to move in the highest speed.
I had no idea where I was going, but I trusted my instincts.
I would find Arianna no matter how far I have to go.
My eyes were forward, although not focused on the road.
I ran into another truck on the bridge.
My car made an unsteady turn and stumbled upon the bridge while it fell down into the river beneath the high bridge.
The car sunk down the water while my eyes fell weak.
I saw my eyes flashed before my eyes.
Dying would be pointless without saving Arianna.
I have to survive, I really must survive.
Arianna is counting on me to save her life. This is the least I can do for her at least and become a good father for our unborn child.
I summoned courage trying to open the car's door.
Unfortunately, it was shut and could barely open.
"Dying now is pointless" I kept muttering those words to my self while my eyes closed gently.
I didn't stop thinking about Arianna even then.
"Ravyen..."
"Rayven!" A serene voice muttered in my ears and it was growing louder.
I shuddered, and spurred my eyes open only to find Arianna panicking and trying so hard to wake me up.
It was a nightmare and i was covered in sweat feeling nausea and weak.
"Ravyen" she cried as I sat upright. I wiped my eyes to see clearly if this was reality.
She placed her palms on my cheeks and lean her head closer to mine.
"Are you alright?" She questioned panting softly and I nodded.
She heaves a sigh and then slaps me on the back.
I couldn't say any words but winced.
"You scared the hell out of me!" She barks moving back a bit and then folded her arms with a frown at me.
I let out a smile and embraced her, cuddling her in my arms.
"I'm sorry, I won't try that again" I whispered squeezing her firmly and then she kissed my cheek.
"Oh yeah! I'd drain you in water next time" she whispers punching my stomach and I chuckled, throwing my eyes to the window and then suddenly caught a shadow fading away.
