NIKOLAI
I had a TV installed in her room after that night. Spending time there made me realize just how empty the room felt and how bored she must be all the time.
Word reached me that Dante was seen last in Santiego. I don’t know what he might be doing there, but I have men on his ass, reporting everything he does to me. Aside from holding Mia captive, he also betrayed this organization, and he should be punished for that.
I have my reasons for not having him killed just yet, though. I know he’s working for someone, the way he has managed to stay hidden for so long, and the things he has done aren’t something he is capable of doing on his own. He isn’t the type with a backbone, so he is incapable of standing on his own.
I know he’s going to lead me to his master eventually; I have to be patient.
I blow up a cloud of smoke and drop my cigar in the ashtray when Fin walks in.
“They’re in California. Redwood,” he says, and takes a seat opposite me.
I nod, “Why Redwood?” I ask.
“I don’t know, Dean didn’t know much either. He doesn’t seem to be part of the inner circle, just some aid.”
I nod again.
“What’s our move? We have some men in California that could get the job done,” Fin proposes, but I shake my head.
I only told Fin that he was a traitor, but I hadn’t told Fin exactly what he did. My father was brutally murdered over seven years ago, and I vowed to kill everyone who was involved in the slightest and their families over eighteen. This man, Scott Damson, had eluded me until last year when I fished him out, and he went on the run.
And now I’m going to look him in the eye when I kill him, slowly and painfully.
“We don’t make a move yet. Just have our men locate him and keep a close eye on him. Keep me updated, and I’ll tell you how we move,” I reply.
“Noted,” he shrugs.
Silence stretches between us, and we just exist like we usually do, looking into the sky, lost in our own thoughts.
Then suddenly, Mia comes into view, wearing a short skirt that probably has half of her ass out from the way it looks from above, and a crop top.
“What the –“
I get to my feet immediately, watching her as she struts off towards the garden, and I catch one of the guards watching her with so much lust, I can feel my blood boiling.
“I’ll be back,” I grunt angrily to Fin and storm out of the balcony and downstairs.
What the fuck is she going into the garden for? And why the fuck does she have on such a ridiculously short skirt?
My anger increases with each step, but as soon as I get to the garden and see her trying to climb over the garden wall, all the anger fades, and all that’s left is amusement.
I lean against the entrance and just watch her try to push herself up the wall. The skirt is a bit longer than I thought it was, but it still won’t take a lot of effort to see what’s underneath it.
She finally gets a hang of it and starts pulling herself up, and I get a good view of what’s underneath, but to my relief and slight disappointment, there’s a pair of shorts under the skirt that does a pretty good job at hiding her privacy.
“You should be informed that what lies beyond the wall isn’t what you expect at all,” I finally break the silence.
Frightened, she loses her grip and stumbles back. Luckily, I’m close enough and quick enough to catch her in time.
She falls into my arms, her eyes wide with surprise for a second before she wiggles out of my arms.
I scoff, “You really think it would be that easy to escape?” I take a step back and fold my arms. “You must either be really delusional, or you must underestimate our intelligence here.”
She sighs and looks away. “So, what’s beyond the wall?” she asks in a small voice.
“Your death,” I respond simply.
She looks up with furrowed brows.
“My father had it built in a few years before he died. He used it to create fake hope of escape for his captives, only for them to fall to their deaths the moment they went over the wall. It’s not an escape – it’s a trap.”
“The apple truly doesn’t fall far from the tree,” she mutters. But I hear her.
Her words strike a nerve. I know that brutality is a character trait that is needed to get the job done, but my father’s methods were extreme and sadistic, and I am nothing like him.
“I am nothing like my father,” I growl out.
She steps back, probably noticing the change in my tone and demeanor. I call myself back to order.
“Get back to your room,” I order.
“Until when?” she asks to my surprise, planting her feet on the floor, determination in her eyes.
“Excuse me?”
“Until when?” she repeats herself. “You don’t want to kill me. It doesn’t seem like you have any plans of letting me go either. What the hell do you want from me?” she almost yells.
“I want you to go to your room?” I say sternly.
“No! I want to know what happened to Dante. I don’t want to be kept in a fancy cage anymore,” she insists.
“You might have forgotten, but you are in no position to make demands here, Mia,” I remind her.
“Last time I checked, I’m not even in a position to breathe. So why don’t you just fucking kill me?” she says, looking me dead in the eye.
She moves forward, balling her hands into fists and setting a stance.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I ask with a raised brow.
“I’m going to fight my way out of here, and if I can’t, then I’ll die trying. It’s better than not knowing what’s next.”
“You’re making a big mistake,” I warn her calmly.
“I’ve already made a couple. What’s one more?”
She swings at me, and I move aside. She swings again, and I grab her fist and twist it. She gasps as I pull her forward and grab her second wrist, trapping her with her back to me.
She stands still, her breath strangled as they come out in short hitches. I look down at her waistline, and my breath catches in my throat.
With my free hand, I reach for her bare skin, caressing her waist. As soon as my hand touches her skin, she pushes back a little, and her ass brushes against my area.
“You’re lucky I don’t want you dead,” I say almost breathlessly.
“Then what do you want?” she asks, equally breathless.
I spin her around and pin her to the closest wall, looking her in the eyes, and then my eyes lower down to her lips.
I want to taste her lips, I want to grab her waist and have her body pressed against mine, I want to smell her skin.
“What I want isn’t something I should have,” I whisper.
She pauses, and I don’t know if it was all in my head, but I felt her body move closer to me. “Why not?” she asks, and I look straight into her eyes. She’s already looking at me, and that is all the push I need.
I tilt her chin upward and lower my head to kiss her lips; they’re soft and juicy like I expected, but even more surprising – she leans into the kiss with as much hunger as I. When I seek entrance to deepen the kiss with my tongue, she grants it to me without hesitation.
Her body moves, pressing harder onto me. I can feel the softness of her breasts, and I let go of her hands and grab her waist. She throws her arms around my neck and gasps between kisses.
My dick is hard and straining against my pants. I reach down for her thighs and slowly trace my hands up until I find her entrance. I move the material covering her aside, and I can already feel her wet and ready.
I insert one finger first, and she mourns loudly. I don’t let her lips be for long before I take them back in mine and insert another finger. Her body surges forward in pleasure, and I start moving, rubbing her clit with my thumb as I keep going in and out.
I let her lips be and stare at her face, seeing so much pleasure engulf her just makes me even harder.
She grabs my shoulders and squeezes hard as she rides on the ecstasy, watching her like this – I want more, I want more of her.
She grabs on harder, and her eyes go wide as she gets closer to her release.
“Nik!” she gasps out loudly, pushing her body forward and rolling her eyes backward as I feel her juices drip down my fingers. I pull out my fingers and keep my eyes on her, and lick my fingers of all her juices as she watches.
“Go to your room,” I say again.
Her legs shake a little when she moves, and I watch her scurry away, contemplating going after her. I’ve already crossed a line. Why not go all the way?
