A death jinx
SIENNA POV
Smack!
“You must think you have any right to speak after killing my brother, you stupid death jinx” Yoona said meanly, eyes blazing with pure hatred while Brianna could only wince painfully, trying hard not to spill tears though too he slap stung — Yoona would make Brianna suffer more if she saw that the slap was painful.
Seeing Brianna in pain was like a melody to her evil heart.
She had a tray in her hands and couldn't touch the stinging part of her face.
“I…I'm sorry, I was just telling her to help me adjust the plates on the tray because it was about to fall off” Brianna stuttered, her eyes flicking from the tray to Yoona's face.
Another slap landed on the same cheek, harder than the first and Brianna's grip tightened on the tray as she felt the metallic taste of blood in her mouth.
“Help? You dare to ask for help? The same way you did when you killed Blake?” She threw back angrily.
“And you— I bet you were her accomplice when she killed my brother” She added, facing the maid that just tried to help.
The poor girl quickly shook her head, falling to her knees and pleading for forgiveness. “I'm sorry, Princess Yoona, I'm not an accomplice to murder… I promise you” she started crying but of course Yoona was too mad to care or listen.
“Guards! Take her out and make her a scapegoat to all other maids at the mansion” She ordered and two guards rushed over, pulling the girl to her feet and dragging her out.
Yoona slapped the tray out of Brianna's hands, leaving her hard-earned work to crumble in front of her.
“You should pay your last respects to your friend, Brianna. That's the least you can do to appreciate the kindness she showed to you” Yoona muttered before walking off, hips swaying behind her.
At the execution ground, everyone fell silent and Brianna had tears in her eyes. Guilt ate into her soul as she watched Lily tied to a chair naked for everyone to see.
The girl's only sin was trying to help her reset a falling tray! How could Yoona be so heartless?
“What should we do next, Princess?” A guard asked from the podium and Yoona smiled victoriously.
She must be so excited to be taking a life like it's worth a rough piece of paper.
“Torture her until she admits to her crime of being Brianna's accomplice” she ordered and the torture started.
How could she admit to a crime that never even existed?
Lily's scream pierced through Brianna like a sword, her own tears spilling uncontrollably as she turned her face from the scene, not able to watch the heartless torture they initiated on an innocent girl.
She rushed towards Yoona who stood gracefully at the visible end of the field. “Please, please let her go, Yoona. She didn't do anything wrong. There is no accomplice anywhere…” Brianna pleaded on her knees, her tears not stopping for once.
Diana, the Luna of Crescent Sky Pack who was also her mother-in-law and Finn, the Luna's first son, chose the moment to walk in.
“What a perfect scene to behold for a rough evening” Finn mocked, laughing as he saw Brianna on her knees. He walked up to her before bending to her level.
“You should have done this sooner, sister-in-law. Why make her force it out of you like this?” Finn whispered into her ears and Brianna fisted her hands on her dress hard but she didn't say a word. She would be digging her own grave if she did.
“For the fourth time, a person is going to lose their life because of you, Brianna. How many more people would you kill to know your place?” Diana scoffed before going to stand beside her daughter, Yoona.
Ignoring their taunts, Brianna rubbed her palms together shamefully, begging Yoona to stop Lily's torture.
“You looked so unaffected when I slapped you earlier, Brianna, why pretend like you care now? Are you trying to attract attention to yourself? You want people to see that you have a conscience for a dying maid? Tell me, do you think that will change the way everyone sees you?” Yoona asked, looking down at Brianna.
“Don't be delusional, Brianna. It won't. Everyone knows you're a murderer. You're cursed with bad luck and you didn't stop spreading that bad luck until you killed my brother.
As if that isn't enough, you're going to drive that girl right to her death again. This— is your fault! She's dying because of you and see that pain and the fire in her eyes? I don't think she will ever forgive you” she added, pressing her heel down on Brianna's hand.
Brianna felt her body vibrate with pain. Been wolfless now, the pain she was feeling was the same a normal weak human girl would feel if someone stepped on her hand with a heel.
“That's it, take it like the murderer you are. You should feel one quarter of the pain she's feeling right now if you have any ounce of shame left in you” Yoona taunted, stepping harder on her hand, but the pain was nothing compared to the guilt that clawed at her heart.
“Please let her go, Yoona. Punish me instead” Brianna cried, not minding if she lost her hand to Yoona's cruelty. She didn't want Lily to die so unfairly but even with her pleas and tears, Yoona had already made up her I'mmind. She would kill the poor maid and pin the blame on Brianna.
“Punish you? That's exactly what I'm doing, you bitch. You'll watch every single person that cared for you die and you'll always remember that it was your fault, Brianna, just as it was your fault that Blake died!” She said lastly, kicking Brianna off before giving the guards a sign
