Chapter 34 CHAPTER 034

Chapter 34 CHAPTER 034
Castel doesn’t know how long they have been on the road, and he certainly doesn’t care as he basks in the warmth of the alpha’s body with his arms tightly wrapped around his middle and his head resting on his back.

The night breeze is cold, but Castel barely feels it, not when the heat from Theo’s body seeps through the leather jacket and into his skin, and certainly not when the city lights flash past them like distant stars.

Castel holds Theo even tighter, not wanting the moment to pass, but clearly fate has other plans as the motorcycle comes to an abrupt stop.

Castel pouts as he looks around their surroundings; there’s literally nothing in sight, no building or people, just an empty street with no cars passing by and bright streetlights. “Why did we stop?” he asks the alpha, making no attempt to unwrap his arms from his waist and even going as far as to rest his chin on his shoulder.

Theo lets out a sigh before he asks. “Where do you live?”

“Nowhere,” Comes the Omega’s reply without missing a beat. “You can take me home and do whatever you want with me."

“Quit playing around and tell me where you live." Coldness seeps through every word from the alpha’s lips.

The irritation in his voice makes Castel smirk. “I’m not playing around, certainly."

Theo curses under his breath. Swiftly, he unhooks the omega’s arms around his waist and gets off the bike. He paces for a moment, running a hand through his hair before staring back at the pretty Omega, who looks like he has all the time in the world, but Theo doesn't, and he certainly doesn’t have the patience to deal with a rich brat.

He approaches him with eyes looking like they could pierce through anything. “Listen, Mr. McLaren, I've been generous enough to get you out of there, and now, it’s either you tell me where you fucking live, or I leave you here. Your choice."

Castel stares at him for a moment, his lips slowly curling into a smile that is equal parts amused and challenging. “Temper, temper,” he murmurs, tilting his head slightly. “You sound like my father.”

Theo’s jaw tightens. “I’m not joking.”

Castel shrugs, swinging one leg over the bike so he’s sitting sideways now, one heel tapping idly against the metal. “I noticed.”

Theo exhales slowly through his nose, clearly trying not to lose his patience. “Your house.”

“I told you, I don’t have anywhere to go. You have to take me home,” comes Casteel's nonchalant response, and he smiles more when he sees the look of pure regret on the alpha’s face.

He probably regrets taking Castel out of there. Castel’s smile fades and morphs into a pout. He slowly slides off the motorcycle, landing lightly on his heels and sharply invades the alpha’s space, hands lifting to wrap around his neck, but Theo jumps back as if a mere touch from the omega will burn him.

“Are you that disgusted with omegas, or is it just me?” Castel pins him with a stare, all form of playfulness gone from his eyes. The more he gets rejected by the alpha, the more his pride and his omega get wounded.

“I’m not disgusted with Omegas,”

“So, I’m the problem. You’re disgusted at the sight of me,” Castel counters without missing a beat.

Theo’s brows knit together in irritation. “That’s not what I said.”

Castel lets out a quiet laugh, but there’s no humor in it this time. “Sure looks like it.”

Theo’s eyes darken and sharpen; swiftly, he nears the omega, roughly taking hold of his arm and pulling him close. His eyes boil into his face. “You want to know why I can’t fucking stand you? Because you elites don’t give a damn about anyone’s feelings but your own. Everyone else is just collateral while you sit there pretending the world revolves around you. So, you are either going to tell me where you fucking live so I can get rid of you and go on my way, or you are going to stay here. What is it going to be, Omega?"

Castel blinks, caught off guard by the alpha’s outburst. He swallows at the little sting in his chest, not breaking contact with the alpha’s hateful ones. “I’m going to stay here,” he replies a moment later.

Theo stares at his face silently for a moment. “Fine. Have fun, Princess.”

With that, he lets go of his arm and, without looking back, he gets on his bike, and a second later, he’s hitting the road.

Castel stands there, and for a moment, he doesn’t move as the roar of the motorcycle fades into the distance until the street falls completely silent again, with only the streetlights remaining.

Castel lowers his arm where Theo had grabbed him, rubbing the spot to ease the annoying pain.

Princess. He lets out a small scoff at the word. “Asshole,” he mutters under his breath, but the word doesn’t carry the bite it should; instead, his chest feels strangely tight as the wind brushes past him again, colder now that the motorcycle and the owner are gone. Suddenly, Castel becomes more aware of how empty the street really is.

No car or people, just him standing under a bright lamp like an abandoned statue. Castel exhales sharply and drags a hand through his hair.

Great. He didn’t even bring his phone, and he has no bloody idea where he fucking is. He looks down the road where Theo disappeared, his jaw tightening.

“He didn’t even hesitate,” Castel murmurs to himself while the realization stings more than he expects. He had thought… He’s not sure what he thought. Castel laughs softly to himself, but it sounds hollow.

Forget it. It’s his fault for expecting much from an alpha who hates people like him, people who think the world revolves around them, in other words, rich people.

Castel scoffs as he walks down the lonely street with no sense of direction, hugging his arms around himself. He should have taken the hint at the display of disgust when Castel was busily flaunting his wealth at the front of the alpha.

“Idiot,” he whispers, but he isn’t sure if he’s talking about Theo or himself. Castel exhales slowly.

Fine.

He lifts his chin stubbornly. “I don’t need him anyway,” he mutters to himself as he continues walking, but just then he hears the sound of a vehicle from a distance. His heart soars as he goes after the sound. Still, seconds later, a familiar motorcycle skids to a stop beside him, and he’s staring into the familiar eyes of the alpha whom he thought had abandoned him in the wilderness.

“Get on,” Theo orders.

Castel stares at the alpha for a second before he huffs and throws his face. “I don’t need you,” he mutters, his pride getting in the way as he proceeds to walk the lonely path that leads to nowhere.

Theo clicks his tongue. Swiftly, he gets off the bike and goes after the bratty omega. He grabs his arm and pulls him back, and without a word, he bends and throws the omega over his shoulder as if he weighs nothing, heading back to his bike.

“Hey!” Castel shouts, hitting his back. “Put me down, you asshole."

“Shut up!” Theo shouts back, and he dumps the omega’s ass on the bike and traps him between it and his body.

Castel’s breath hitches at the proximity and the alpha’s scent that punctures through his nostrils, making his insides twist, and his omega wriggles his tail.

“Listen, you probably hate me now, and that’s good, but for tonight, we’re going to put up with each other, and I’m going to take you home, got it?”

Castel searches the alpha’s eyes for a second, finding nothing in his blank gaze. He sighs. He needs to get out of here, and he knows he won’t be able to do that himself, no matter how prideful he is, so he nods.

“Good,” Theo voices.
