Chapter 29 CHAPTER 029
Castel's Omega stirs awake inside of him, not taking his gaze away from the new alpha who smells like lime and after rain. With sharp features that could rival the gods themselves and, of course, the tattoos that wrap around both his wrists. He's fine, and Castel doesn't even realize when a small smile stretches on his lips.
The alpha holding Castel pauses, and he looks up, being shorter than the new alpha. “And who the hell are you?”
The new alpha looks away from the drunk alpha, and his gaze shifts to Castel; their gaze locks for a moment, and instantly, Castel feels it: a strange pull in his chest while his omega stirs restlessly, reacting to the alpha's scent way more than it should.
Castel quickly looks away, annoyed at his own reaction. Tch. Stupid omega instincts. He hates them more than he appreciates them.
“Let go of him.”
The drunk alpha scoffs. “Mind your business. I saw him first.”
The man tilts his head slightly, as if considering the words, but then he repeats, but colder this time. “Let. Go.”
The stupid alpha tightens his grip on Castel’s arm. “I said he's coming with me—” he growls, but he never finishes the sentence, as in one quick movement, the new alpha grabs the drunk alpha’s wrist, and a loud crack echoes in the bar as he calmly twists the alpha’s arm behind his back and forces him to his knees like it takes no effort at all.
The alpha screams in pain while Castel blinks in surprise at the sight.
“Take your horny ass out of here!” The man says through gritted teeth, eyes glimmering with anger.
The drunk alpha whimpers in pain. “L-let go! I'll leave!”
At the words, he's released with a tough shove that sends him to the floor. He throws the new alpha a dirty glare. “This is not over yet, asshole,” he threatens, clutching his arm before scrambling away in fear.
Castel immediately turns to his knight in shining armor with a smile. “Thank you for saving me."
The alpha turns to him with a disapproving look. “I didn't do it to save you. Alphas like him don't deserve to exist, and here's a piece of advice: if you don't want to be molested, don't come to places like this.”
Castel blinks, taken off guard at the cold tone of voice and, of course, those judging eyes that make Castel's Omega whimper. Before he can speak, a voice comes from behind him, calling for the alpha.
“Theo, it's time for your shift.”
Theo. Castel echoes the name in his head, knowing he has a name for his knight. As much as Castel isn't some distressed omega who needed saving, he could have taken care of that alpha himself; he didn't take all those boxing classes just to be molested, but he will take being saved by a handsome alpha anytime, especially one that smells this good.
“You work here?” He asks almost excitedly, but the cold look in the alpha's eyes does not change for a moment. His gaze hardens even more.
“You shouldn't be here. You should leave.”
Castel blinks again, the words hitting him like a slap to the face. Castel crosses his arms over his chest. “You obviously work here. Shouldn't you attend to your customers, or do you chase them all out?”
“This place isn’t safe for unmated omegas. Unless you wish to be molested and harassed, have fun.”
Castel pouts at the tone. “So rube,” he mutters, but Theo rolls his head as he walks round the counter, turning his attention to the beta bartender as if Castel isn't even there.
Castel pouts. He hates being ignored the most. Without another word, he turns and storms off, out of the cheap bar.
~~
Castel doesn't leave. No. He stands in the dark alley of the bar, arms crossed over his chest and one foot pressed to the wall, while his gaze stays fixed on the entrance of the bar, waiting patiently as the time runs and soon, it's already past midnight.
Finally, the object of Castel's obsession walks out of the bar with a helmet and dressed in a leather jacket. Castel smiles, pushing himself off the wall and immediately following after the Alpha.
Theo walks toward a black motorbike parked beside the street. He places the helmet on the seat, and when he turns, he comes face-to-face with a grinning Castel.
“Hi,” he blinks cutely.
Theo raises a questioning brow. “You're still here?”
Castel nods as he smiles sweetly. “Yeah. I waited for you.”
Theo rubs his temple like he suddenly has a headache from the mere conversation. “Why?”
Castel walks closer. “Well,” he starts casually, “first of all, I was bored and second, you’re interesting and third, I want you,” the words leave his lips shamelessly while his eyes glint mischievously.
Theo stares him over for a quick second. “Are all rich Omegas this shameless?” he tsks and gets on the bike, plugging in the keys.
Castel’s lips slit at the blunt rejection. “Wow,” he mutters, crossing his arms. “You really know how to bruise an omega’s pride.”
“You’ll survive. Even if you don’t, I don’t care,” Theo says as he starts the motorcycle, and it roars to life. He puts on his helmet.
“You don't think I'm attractive enough."
As soon as the words leave Castel's lips, he realizes how ridiculous they sound. Of course, he's attractive; only a fool would turn down someone like him.
Theo looks at him, and then he scans his eyes from his head to his toes.
Castel's Omega swells with pride, knowing no alpha can resist his charm. This alpha should be lucky he's looking his way when Castel has tons of alphas dying for his mere glance, but Theo slams his visor shut, and without a word, he drives off.
Castel gasps in shock. “Hey!” He calls after the Alpha, but he doesn't look back as he increases his speed, disappearing.
Castel stands there for a moment, staring at the empty street like the world has just personally offended him, while the sound of the motorcycle fades into the night.
His jaw slowly drops, his eyes widen, and his stomach churns. “Did… did he just leave?”
Castel almost chokes at the realization. “The audacity!”
No alpha has rejected him before, and there's no way Castel is going to let it slide.
Castel's eyes darken as he stares in the direction the alpha disappeared into, and slowly, his lips curl into a smirk because all Castel sees is a challenge, and he loves challenges.
This is simply the beginning, Alpha Theo.
