Chapter 143 CHAPTER 143
Chapter 143 CHAPTER 143
When Soren makes it back to the main party, the music is still blaring, but a crowd has formed at the side of the outdoor pool.
Soren pushes his way through the cheering students, and the moment he breaks through, his blood instantly runs ice-cold.
Liam is on his knees, stripped of his clothes, leaving him completely naked, his hands tied behind him and a gag over his mouth as he sobs loudly.
Soren's eyes twist as his gaze bores a hole through Sandra and her friends standing over the small Beta, laughing as they pour bottles of liquor over Liam's head while another records the humiliating scene.
He should never have brought the kid along.
Soren’s vision tints red, and he stalks forward, light on his steps. He grips the scissors tightly in his left hand.
He walks directly up behind one of Sandra’s friends, unnoticed over the sound of the blaring music and the cheering. An alpha… perfect. He hates alphas.
Soren reaches out his right hand and politely taps the Alpha on the shoulder. "Hey," he says loudly, his voice devoid of emotion.
The Alpha turns around, still laughing, holding a half-empty bottle of liquor. "What do you—"
Before the sentence can even leave the bastard’s mouth, Soren moves with blinding speed and drives the sharp point of the gardening scissors into the meaty part of the Alpha's shoulder, burying it deep into his muscles.
"AGHHH!" The Alpha shrieks in pain, dropping the glass bottle as it shatters on the floor, and then he drops to the floor, staring at Soren like the devil is right in front of him.
The crowd immediately screams, scattering backward in terror. Soren squats and reaches for the scissors, yanking them out, unbothered by the blood that splatters on the floor. Soren stares at him with cold, penetrating eyes.
“You had your fun; now it's my turn,” he says lowly, shaking the blood off the scissors.
“Somebody, stop him!” Sandra suddenly screams in horror, and instantly, Soren is surrounded by a bunch of alphas ready to fight, and they launch at him all at once.
Soren ducks under punches flying towards him from different directions, then pivots and drives his elbow directly into the second alpha's jaw, followed by a crack sound; blood splatters from his mouth, and teeth fly out before he drops with a loud thud on the floor.
Soren spins, grabs the third alpha by the collar of his shirt, and brutally headbutts him, breaking the kid's nose instantly, and kicks the fourth one squarely in the stomach, sending him flying backward into a glass table.
"Hey! Stop right there!"
Soren snaps his head toward the two security guards that barges into the pool area. They charge toward him.
Soren finally drops the scissors, and as the first guard reaches for him, Soren sidesteps gracefully, grabbing the man's arm and twisting it painfully behind his back before kicking the back of his knee.
Once the man goes down with a thud, Soren immediately launches himself at the second guard, dodging a heavy swing, and delivers three rapid blows directly to the man's throat and jaw.
In less than eighteen seconds, every single person who dared to attack him is on the floor, whining in pain while Soren stands over them, and the rest of the party guests all scramble to one corner in fear.
Soren wipes the bead of sweat from his forehead and throws his head back for a moment. Then slowly, he turns his head, his dark eyes locking onto Sandra.
She is backed up against a wall, her phone dropped on the floor, her face completely pale with horror.
Soren walks slowly toward her. He reaches down, picking up a full, unopened bottle of vodka from a nearby table and opens it while he approaches.
"P-Please," Sandra begs, tears completely ruining her makeup. "Please don't hurt me."
“You didn't seem to care when you hurt my friend,” he grits through his teeth and grabs her roughly by the jaw, his fingers digging into her cheeks, forcing her mouth open.
"Drink up, princess," he snarls.
He tilts the bottle and pours a generous amount of the burning alcohol into her mouth, letting it spill all over her body. Sandra chokes and gags, coughing up the liquor.
Then, Soren lets go, and she collapses to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.
Without a single word, he turns and walks back to Liam, who stares with wide eyes. He takes off his gag and unties the ropes binding him in place.
The boy collapses, tired, while Soren finds his clothes before returning, grabbing him by the arm and pulling him before bending down to carry him over his shoulder.
Soren turns to the rest of the guests. "It was really fun knowing you all, but your party sucks."
Without another word, Soren turns around with Liam over his shoulder and walks away.
Well, they messed with the wrong beta.
~~
The harsh lights of the 24-hour convenience store shine brightly over their heads as they sit on a concrete curb.
Soren rips open a plastic package of wipes. "Hold still," he commands gently, dabbing a cut on Liam’s cheek.
Liam winces slightly, but despite his bruised face and wet hair, the small Beta is staring at Soren with a look of awe.
"How... how did you do that?" Liam whispers, his eyes wide behind the lenses of his glasses. "You took down all those people in less than a minute. You... you even stabbed that guy! You completely destroyed them!"
Soren sighs, tossing the bloody wipe into a nearby plastic bag. He pulls out a large band-aid and carefully smooths it over Liam's cheek.
Soren leans back on the curb, offering Liam a smirk. "I was once an underground boxer," he says smoothly, lowering his voice dramatically.
Liam gasps softly, his eyes blowing even wider.
"Yeah," Soren continues, casually popping open a can of cheap soda he bought from the store. "I’ve been fighting in illegal rings since I was fifteen. You have no idea what I'm capable of, Liam. Honestly? Those kids are lucky I didn't kill them on the spot."
Liam nods rapidly. "I believe you. I totally believe you. You're like a superhero. Can I be your sidekick?! Can you teach me how to fight?" His eyes shine brightly with each word.
Soren chuckles, amused by the beta's innocence. He takes a sip of his soda, the adrenaline from the fight finally beginning to fade from his system.
Damn. He hasn't had a fight in a while. His entire body aches badly. He's getting out of shape. “Such, I can teach you the basics.”
“Yes!” Liam throws his hands up in the air happily, but then the excitement dies just as instantly. “But aren't you scared of getting arrested? They are from the wealthiest family in our university. Everyone is scared to mess with them,” he asks, suddenly worried.
Soren reels his head to look at him, and a smirk tugs at his lips. “Don't worry, my fiancé is the devil himself. They'll be dead before they even think of such.”
