Damien waited by the front door for Octavia, Kerr, Jaxson, and Harold to come to the house so he could lead them into the dining room for breakfast while I was dressing to get ready to come down. I decided to use my vampire hearing, because I felt like it would be best if I heard everything that was going on, in case a fight broke out.

"Kerr," Damien said as I heard the car park in the driveway.

"Damien," Kerr greeted him back, trying and failing to hide his disdain.

"Okay, we are not doing this, not again," I said, rolling my eyes as I ran downstairs and stepped between Damien and Kerr, shaking my head. "You. Come here." I said, looking at Kerr, waiting for him to move, but he didn't and snorted and started to tell me no. So I turned around and grabbed Damien by the collar and pulled him closer to Kerr. I could see him second-guessing his decision to argue with me when he saw what I did.

"Octavia, do you mind?" I asked Octavia with a soft smile.

"Not at all, have at it," Octavia responded with a small laugh, leaning against the car as she crossed her arms.

"Shake hands, get over it. We all get it, you're a vampire, and you're a mimic; lifelong enemies and whatever else. For now, you guys are going to get along, or else." I said as I led Damien until he and Kerr stood just in front of each other.

"Yeah, sorry, Bast, but that's not going to happen," Kerr responded, looking down at me with a smirk, shaking his head.

I cocked my head to the side as I stared at him for a long moment before I nodded, then turned to look at Damien for a second to see if he felt the same way Kerr did. The refusal in Damien's eyes was just as apparent as Kerr's, so I tapped into my vampire abilities, knowing that my eyes were blood-red, before turning my attention to Kerr again.

"What the fuck?" Kerr growled as he took a few steps, his deep blue eyes wide as he searched my face, unbelieving, despite seeing it.

"Calm yourself, hybrid. Bast is still human." Damien said casually, looking down at me with a solemn expression.

"Yeah? Maybe you should tell her that!" Jaxson exclaimed as he took a few hesitant steps forward, staring into my blood-red eyes, his brown eyes alive with curiosity.

"Stop changing the subject." I snarled, showing a set of long white fangs before I gathered a handful of Kerr's shirt, and using my vampire strength to force the two men to stand face to face. "Shake hands, get the fuck over it. Or I'll call Sinclair to knock some sense into the two of you."

"Fine," Damien said, holding his hand out to Kerr. I could tell Kerr would rather do anything else than to shake Damien's hand, he still did it, as the threat of Sinclair was enough to force them both into acting nice.

"Good, then," I said with a smile as I walked past Damien and into the house.

"So, what is your girlfriend, exactly?" Jaxson asked as they followed Damien and me into the house, then through the kitchen and into the dining room.

"Human, as I said. But I suppose that isn't entirely true any longer as she's now half elemental." Damien said as we sat down at the table, where Jaxson and Harold didn't waste a second before digging in.

"I don't see how that's the truth," Octavia said as she began making herself a plate.

"It's the babies, they are part vampire, which somehow gave me the ability to turn into a vampire," I said with a shrug before taking a bite of my pancakes.

"Wait, the babies are a part vampire?" Kerr exclaimed in surprise.

Damien let out a long drawn out sigh, then took a napkin and cleaning the syrup off of Bast's my chin, before turning his attention back to the mimics. "We hired a witch, who made a purity potion. That potion turned me human for twenty-four hours, and I got Bast pregnant, and we didn't realize until it was too late that the baby would possibly be half-vampire. Because the baby was making its venom, it affected Bast, giving her the ability to tap into it and turn herself into a vampire. So no, she is not a vampire, but she can turn herself into one." He said, pausing to see if they had any questions before he said anything more. "We do not know if she will retain that ability once the babies are born, as this has never happened before, and we are out of our element."

"Wow... That is incredibly insane." Octavia said, shaking her head before returning her attention to the food in front of her. "But pretty badass. I imagine it wasn't fun turning back into a human, being a vampire for almost three hundred years?"

"You would guess correct, mimic alpha."

"How did you know how old he was?" Kerr asked her, furrowing my brows in question.

"He's the king of vampires, Kerr. It's common knowledge of how old he is. Bast, do you know which of your parents are the elemental?"

"No, I don't. But Hanna and Sam got blood from both of them, and they drew my blood earlier. Even though I already know it has to be that my dad isn't my real dad." I answered, trying to hold back the anger I felt boiling inside of me.

"Well, once we finish eating, you and I are going to test if you have any other abilities because we don't want any surprises during practice," Octavia responded, giving me a soft and understanding smile, before returning to her food.

"I thought only the mid-level elementals had multiple? If I'm only half, won't I only have one?"

"Well, no. Despite whether you are half or not, the power level remains the same. If your father is mid-level, you will be mid-level. Because my father is Edward, I can control all of the elements."

"You are the daughter of the king of elementals?" Damien cut in, his electric blue eyes wide with shock and disbelief. He shook his head with a small groan. "And the alpha of the most powerful pack amongst the mimics? My god, am I glad you're here as a friend and not a foe."

"What makes your pack so strong, or the most powerful? I heard you have over 100 in your warrior ranks as Hanna put it, but what does that mean?" Samantha asked as she entered the dining room, followed by Sam.

"Most packs only have 10 in their warrior ranks, which most consider a good amount if the mimics are good fighters. So, for Octavia to have over 100, that makes her pack dangerous." Sam answered as he sat down next to Samantha and began putting food on their plates.

"Why are you two eating? I heard you can't even taste it." Harold asked, looking up from his plate for the first time since they sat down.

"Little Bastet dislikes when we sit here while she eats, without eating as well," Sinclair said as he entered the dining room, sitting between me and Octavia.

Damien gave Sinclair a quizzical look, then shook his head before looking at Harold. "We can taste it, but not in the same way that you and the humans do."

"Why is this recreant not a... recreant?" Jaxson asked as he glared at Sinclair, his mimic rippling over his face.

"Recreants are not what you thought they were, as they regain their control again, the same way newborns do, but it takes them longer. He's only dangerous if you piss him off." I answered as I swatted at Sinclair's hand when he took a piece of bacon off my plate.

"So, you've tamed a recreant, is what you're saying?" Jaxson asked with a mocking smile before chuckling and shaking his head.

Sinclair didn't respond, but faster than any of us could see, he went around the table and threw Jaxson through the wall on the other side of the room, snarling, his gold eyes now burning like hellfire. "Care to say that again, mimic?"

*'What a dumbass. Did he think that just because he's not insane that he would just accept an insult?'* I thought as I watched Jaxson climb back through the hole he'd just made, his mimic shuddering through his body as he growled.

"Stop it!" I yelled, knowing my eyes were blood-red again as I brought my fists down on the table. I could feel a connection other than the fire I felt yesterday, and as that connection grew, I felt a tremble in the earth beneath us, causing most of the dishes to clatter to the ground, or in the laps of the people around the table.

"See? You have more than one ability, so your father was mid-level." Octavia commented with a nod as she picked up the pieces of her plate, setting them back on the table.

"My love, are you alright?" Damien asked me softly, his blue eyes soft as he brushed the strand hairs off of my face, running his thumb down the side of my face with his free hand. He quickly began helping me pick up the pieces of plate from my lap, not upset in the least.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know I could do that." I whimpered as I felt tears gathering in my eyes. *'Don't cry, you big baby! What the hell is wrong with you?'*

"Don't cry, kitten," Damien whispered, pulling me into his lap. "It's okay, my love, that is why we have someone to help you learn and control it. You learned how to control your vampire abilities, and you'll learn how to control this. Okay?"

"Ugh, stupid hormones!" I exclaimed as I wiped furiously at the tears, laughing softly. "I don't know why I'm crying, but I can't stop it."

Damien chuckled and kissed my temple, before standing, carrying me in his arms. "Mimics, feel free to use the shower in the guest house. Sam will get you a change of clothes." He said over his shoulder as he carried me out of the room and up the stairs.

"Well, that was sickening to watch," Jaxson commented.

"Don't get upset about your hormones, my love. It's just what happens when you're pregnant." Damien whispered in my ear as he carried me up the stairs and into my bathroom, where he set me down on the toilet, then turned on the shower.

"I know, but I wish it didn't make me cry in front of them," I mumbled as I took off my clothes, trying to clean as much of the food off into the garbage can as I could.

"Why do you care if you cry in front of mimics?"

"Because they aren't just regular mimics. It's the alpha of the red moon pack and her lune. I'm guessing Jaxson and Harold are strong fighters, which is why she brought them."

"Kitten, don't beat yourself up over it. You are going through a lot, and you can't control everything." He said as he motioned for me to get into the shower, then started to leave the room.

"Wait, where are you going?" I asked, grabbing his arm. He turned around to look down at me curiously, raising an eyebrow. "You don't want to shower with me anymore?" I asked softly, knowing that wasn't the case. *'I know you are keeping your distance, because you're afraid of hurting the babies, but we can't do this until the babies are born.'* I thought as I watched him take a step back into the bathroom, taking off his jacket, then his vest. I helped him take off his shirt, standing on my tiptoes, bringing my lips to his. He pulled away from our kiss long enough to take off his shoes, then his pants.

"I don't want to hurt you or the babies." He whispered against my lips as he led me into the shower, setting me under the hot water. His eyes were filled with lust as he peered down at me, caressing my lips with his thumb, his free hand slipping underneath me, picking me up, so we were face to face.

I smiled and put my arms around his shoulders, pulling him close, bringing our lips back together. "I love you," I whispered into his ear, feeling him shudder as he pressed his erection to my folds.

"I love you, my little kitten." He mumbled in my ear, before thrusting inside me, bringing his lips to mine to stifle my moans. He cupped my chin in his hand, putting his hand behind my head to steady us as he continued to thrust, moaning against my lips as I got closer to orgasm.

It felt like I reached orgasm in only minutes, making me realize we hadn't had sex in a while.

I nuzzled my face into against his throat, sinking my teeth in as I came, trying to force myself to be quiet, knowing our guests had super-human hearing. *'Chances are they already know what you're doing.'* I thought as I waited for my spasms to end to release his throat and bring our lips back together.

"You're right, it has been a while, but sex isn't everything." He whispered against my lips before kissing me again.

"I keep forgetting you can do that," I giggled as I broke our kiss and grabbed my sponge. I added some of the body wash before carefully scrubbing every inch of Damien's body that I could reach without bending over, while he watched me doing so, a slight smirk on his face.

Once our shower was over, he went back to his room to change and waited until I came out of my room to walk downstairs with me. Instead of dressing in a suit again, he wore a pair of dark jeans and a button-up black shirt.

"Why do vampires wear so much black and dark colors?" Samantha asked when we stepped outside, where everyone was already waiting.

"It's just what vampires do. They wear dark colors." Octavia responded before bringing my attention to the cover she set down in the grass on the side of the house. "Let's get started."

I followed Octavia to the cover and sat down, crossing my legs, waiting for her to tell me what to do next.

"We know you can control fire and earth, but we need to see if you can summon either water or air next before I begin to show you how to use and suppress those abilities. The one thing you need to remember first is the summon feeling. This is something you can use to bring those abilities out and use them. Fire is a burning feeling, which seems self-explanatory. Earth is a more unified feeling like you are one with the ground beneath you. Water is a feeling of being fluid. Air is a feeling of weightlessness like you can hover." Octavia explained as she sat down across from me, crossing her legs as well.

"Okay, burning, unified, fluid, and lightness," I repeated, nodding my head.

"Close your eyes," She said softly as she closed her eyes, waiting. I don't know how she knew when my eyes were closed, but as soon as I closed them, she spoke again. "Now imagine your body getting hot, like you're on fire, but focus that feeling into your fist. Make a fist and focus that burning into the palm of your hand, and once you feel like its there, open your eyes, then open your fist. Take your time, and don't rush."

I nodded and did what she said, imagining the burning feeling I felt when I burned Amelia yesterday, and again when I got upset. *'Okay, I feel the fire, now focus it into your palm as she said.'* I told myself, waiting until I felt like I was holding a ball of fire in my hand, then opened my eyes. I hesitantly opened my fist, but much to my surprise, I had a small ball of fire hovering an inch above my palm.

"Good job, now take that burning feeling and channel it bigger. Do like I do." She said as she opened her hand next to mine and slowly making the fire grow bigger and then smaller. *'Wow she does it so easily. That's insane.'* I thought as I watched her in amazement.

"I don't think I can do that," I said, shaking my head as I watched her.

"You managed to channel it in your hand on the first attempt, Bast. You can do this!" Samantha encouraged from a few hundred feet away from where everyone else was watching in dumbfounded surprise.

"Let's try something else and come back to this. Try to channel lightness or fluidity into your palm, and see which, if either, you can do. It won't be as easy as fire or earth, because you've never done it before, so imagining the feeling can be a bit scary. But relax and breathe through it."

*'I wonder what would happen if I tried to channel both, one into each palm? Well, if I don't have the ability, it won't work, but what's the harm in it'* I thought, then shrugged softly. *'Fuck it, may as well.'* I thought and balled my fists out, first imagining air flowing through my veins into my right fist, and water through my veins into my left hand. When I opened my eyes, I looked down at my fists for a second before opening them. *'Oh. My. God.'*

"Holy shit, you're a royal!" Kerr exclaimed as he looked down at my hands, his deep blue eyes wide in surprise.

"What does that mean?" I asked, looking back and forth from the ball of water in my left hand and the air in my right hand. I'm not sure why I was able to see the air, as its invisible, but I could distinctly see the air twirling in a circle, clear as day in my right hand.

"You don't need to try to find your dad, that's what that means." Octavia breathed out, shaking her head in disbelief.

"What do you mean?" Damien asked as he came closer and tried to wave his hand through the air, but his hand smacked into it, rather than going through it.

"There's only one man who could be her father, as he's the only royal in existence, and has been for hundreds of years," Octavia said, closing her eyes as a few ripples went through her face, growling lowly. "Bastet, we're sisters. Well, half-sisters, but sisters nonetheless."

I opened my mouth to respond, but words refused to come out. I didn't know what to say. What could you say to something like that? I remained stunned into silence for a while, my mind reeling as I tried to comprehend what she'd just said, but I couldn't. My sister is the alpha of the red moon pack, and I'm just little ole pregnant Bastet, who's achieved nothing, and done nothing with her life.

"I can't wait until I can wring that man's throat!" Octavia yelled as she stood and punched a tree, causing it to split in half, but that didn't seem to be enough to calm her down as she yelled again, then jumped forward, landing on all four paws. She shook her head, causing her light brown fur to shake softly before tilting her head back in a howl.

It began as a low sound, but quickly grew into a howl I felt reverberating through my core, bringing my vampiric abilities to the front. I had no choice, and once it started happening, I couldn't do anything to stop it. The sound of her howl was one of pain and hatred, but most of all, anger. I could feel that anger affecting me, making my blood boil as I heard it like I needed to hurt something. I didn't understand why her howl affected me in that way, but I liked it. I liked the boiling anger I felt, and I wanted to kill something.

"Octavia!" Kerr growled as he mimicked and ran to her. Kerr's form was pitch-black, like looking into an abyss, but beautiful in its depth. I watched as the two ran into the trees, followed by Jaxson and Harold, who'd run after them.

After staring in the direction that they'd run for a few minutes, I stood and buried my face in Damien's chest, breathing in his scent. I remained like this until I felt my anger subsiding, and I could finally breathe again.

"Why was she so pissed, saying we were sisters?" I asked Damien, leaning back to look at him. I knew he didn't know the answer, but just voicing the question made me feel a little better.

"I don't know, Kitten. But I believe it's a story we need to hear before we make any guesses." Damien said as he rubbed my back softly.

"When did Sinclair and Sam leave?" I asked, noticing that only Samantha and Damien were still here, and I hadn't even taken notice of their presence, or lack thereof, until now.

"Pretty much as soon as you and Octavia sat down," Samantha answered with a shrug. "I wanted to stay because I wanted to see it."

Oh, okay. Babe, do yo-" I started to say, but stopped when I heard the four wolves running back towards us, and turned in their direction. It was weird seeing four wolfs, and knowing that they were humans. They looked exactly like wolves, and it wasn't until they returned to human form that you'd know they weren't wolves. But I guess that's why they're called mimics. I watched as they went into the house and came back out a few minutes later back in human form, wearing only towels.

When Kerr came out just behind Octavia, I couldn't help but notice the scar on his chest. It was old, but I could tell it was deep and could have proven fatal at one time.

"That scar... Are you Rose's hitman?" Damien asked as he noticed the scar as well, eying it curiously.

"I used to be," Kerr said as he went to the trunk of their car and pulled out a few bags, tossing one to Octavia, Jaxson, and Harold. They all went back into the house to get dressed before coming back outside.

"How'd you manage to get away from her? I heard she killed her hybrids when she'd finished with them." Damien asked.

"Left before she knew what was happening," Kerr said with a shrug before putting his arm around Octavia's waist, pulling her close to him. "Are you sure you're alright?"

"Yeah, I'm alright." She said, smiling softly at him before taking a few steps towards me. "Bast, that was not because of you, I promise. My mom was killed because of that prick, and I don't know why it surprised me that there were other kids out there, but it just pissed me off. Just knowing that he didn't even care about my mother, and used her and stood off to the side allowing her to be killed. I can only imagine how many other women he's done that to over the years."
