The Devil is The Duke

The devil is the Duke is a gentry romance novel set in the 20th century fictional Duchy of Savoy, Britain. Alfred, the widowed duke of Savoy is ruler of the Duchy and one of the most eligible bachelors in Savoy, but he vows never to remarry. Then he meets Emeera, a breathtakingly beautiful Arabian immigrant at one of his parties. He is enchanted by her exotic allure and offers her employment as the manager of his manor home.

Despite Alfred's reputation, Emeera accepts the employment and moves into the manor house, becoming the Manor's first female manager. She is moved into the bedroom of Bella, the late Duchess of Savoy.

Emeera quickly gets used to the Duke's frosty attitude to her as she concentrates on her job, but things come to a head when they have sex on one drunken night. With a baby on the way, the Duke breaks his vow and remarry against his wish.

The couple start their marriage of convenience with a lot of distrust, resentment and refusal to be in each other's beds.
