Chapter 2
Lucien.
There was nothing I loved more than being nestled between the legs of a woman, buried in the sweet heat she emanated, savoring her soft moans, the loud screams, her violent shrieks.
As I emptied my seed onto her lower belly with a groan, her tits jiggled softly and I shut my eyes to keep myself from pushing myself back inside her. The woman body was exquisite, and in my opinion, the best thing to happen to man.
“Oh, Lucien. That was so good.” The woman—I’d forgotten her name—purred softly like a cat, languidly crossing one leg over the other in a provocative way that made a hip pop out and used a raised elbow to hoist her head up. “You never disappoint.”
I leaped off the bed and headed to the toilet for a wash, not caring much for the chitchat. Just like every woman I’d ever slept with, I wanted her out immediately. It didn’t matter that she was right; I didn’t disappoint. I made it a point of duty to learn the craft of sex and pleasure and If I said so myself, I was the best to ever do it.
I switched on the shower as soon as I stepped into the tub and sighed as the cold water cascaded down my sticky skin. My mind was a fucking mess. As much as I enjoyed fucking as well as the next guy, I wouldn’t deny that my escapades of the past few weeks have not been of my own free will. I needed an out and this was it.
Well, it was either this or hunting humans and somewhere somehow, that had become boring.
My father had chosen the worst possible time to die. He’d died in his sleep two weeks ago and I automatically became the Alpha of the Luna Pack. I didn’t mind that, not really. I grabbed a bottle of shampoo and squirted a little of the liquid into my palm. Rubbing my hands together to spread it, I slapped it onto my hair and began to wash it. What I did mind, I thought, was the stupid will he’d left behind.
Apparently—my eyes started to sting from the shampoo so I quickly turned on the shower and stuck my head under it to rinse off the lather—I had to get married before I could inherit the family assets.
Which wouldn’t have been much of a shit storm if the deadline for the marriage wasn’t fifty days after he died. If I wasn’t married by then, I’d lose everything.
I turned off the faucet and got out of the tub, grabbing a neatly folded towel that laid on the counter and wrapping it around my waist. I took another to dry off the rest of my body and when my eyes met itself in the mirror, it started to occur to me how close I was to getting kicked out of my father’s will. My half-brother, Mason was next in line to inherit everything.
I hated that guy.
I didn’t get it. Was I supposed to walk into a supermarket and pick one woman off the shelf in the women’s section?
That would be something.
When I entered the room, a soft snoring caused me to stop.
“You’re still here?”
The woman slowly opened her eyes and I saw that she’d fallen asleep. Fuck no. Women didn’t sleep on my bed, especially not one that snored quite as ferociously as she did.
“What are you still doing here?” I asked her, heading to my wardrobe. I was having yet another meeting with my father’s lawyer. There had to be a way to get around this fucking dumb will of a thing. “I thought I told you to get out.”
I didn’t see her face so I didn’t know if she was angry or hurt and frankly, I couldn’t possibly have cared less. I needed what she had to offer and I’d gotten it. If she didn’t get out of my room, I’d tear her to pieces.
“Lucien, I thought—”
“Stop thinking.” I sighed loudly, turning to face her. “Just do.”
She must have finally gotten the hint because she grabbed her clothes, didn’t even bother to put them on and came around the bed to stand in front of me.
“You’re a fucking robot, Lucien. Do you even have any feelings or sympathy?”
Fucking hell. I could hear the words but the sight of her breasts jiggling so beautifully made me lose sense of what she was going on about. Maybe if I reached over and took those dark-rosed nipples of hers into my mouth, she’d forget how angry she was.
Get your shit together, my wolf told me. You’re on the verge of losing your inheritance. Beautiful, full and well-rounded breasts are the least of your problems.
“Ah!” She let out a vexed shriek when I didn’t reply and marched out of the room.
“What a shame, she had some great titties on her.” I murmured as the door shut. I would’ve married her but not only was she human, which meant any kids we had would be impure, she also snored loud enough to wake the dead. I just couldn’t deal with that for the rest of my life.

“There has to be a way to get around this entire shit.”
The lawyer stared at me like I’d suddenly grown pink horns and I almost rolled my eyes. Granted, I’d arranged this meeting about three times since the news broke and he was probably wondering why I expected him to tell me anything different but Jesus Christ. Married in a month? I couldn’t just sit by and watch my freedom get taken from me.
Well, insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I was mad.
“Mr. Steel, like I told you previously, thrice,” his expression was stern. “Your father made it explicitly clear in his will. You have to get married in about thirty-five days to inherit your father’s assets or your brother, Mason will.” He flicked his wrist, checking his watch. “Is there something else completely unrelated to your father’s will that you’d like to discuss? If not, I have other clients.”
The silent ‘see yourself out’ was so loud. Did he realize I was now the Alpha or did that just not matter to him? Did it not scare him the fuck out that it would break me no sweat to reach over and rip his throat out?
I didn’t like to be frustrated. It was why I tended to live a stress-free life. In fact, this was the most stressed I’d been in my entire life. While I didn’t like to hide behind a façade of theatrics, it was difficult to admit that I was helpless in this situation. Still, I didn’t like his tone.
Mr. Tipton, my father’s Attorney, was a member of my pack and as such, he answered to me, his Alpha. I leaned forward to rest my intertwined hands on his desk, wanting him to see the threat of his impending doom in my eyes.
“There’s a reason they call me the Devil Alpha, Mr. Tipton. I don’t take kindly to insults and I have a knack for hungering for my enemies’ flesh. You will watch your tone with me or I’ll make sure you never speak again. You do not want me as an enemy.”
