Chapter 67: Evangeline Grace
**The Demon’s Love**
*Chapter 67: Evangeline Grace*
Amari’s
I think I’ve heard that name a long time ago. Oddly enough, it felt familiar, but I had no recollection of her being my friend or whatsoever, the name just stuck into my mind. And to discover it was Evangeline, the Crown Prince’s love was just surprising. How could they go all the way from Darkness to the civil area?
She raised her brows in confusion.
But wait, since we call from all the way there, it only meant we are safe from Dark Magic. For now, that is. At least, that was what it seemed from Zaren’s bright and reassuring smile. I am very sure nothing will harm me here momentarily.
I pondered, then told Zaren.
“How long have we been staying here?”
“Two days and a night.”
I was quite taken aback. But what’s more surprising is the fact that I was unconscious for one week and I still could feel and sense. I guess Rymond really did heal me using his divine powers but my recovery was quite long. Supposedly, after being attacked my Darkness, I should have lose anything like my arm of my feet. I am not saying this because I wanted to, but it was confusing. Probably, I was just fortunate.
“Does the Crown prince know we’re here?”
Zaren leaned forward, embracing me and then settled on my neck. I could relate. I was asleep for a long time which led him to assume I wouldn’t wake up again. If I was ever in his position, where he was the one unconscious for a long time, while I tended to him would make me go insane. If that ever occurred., I’d lose him twice.
Back in the past and in this world.
“I notified the Crown Prince who seemed delighted.” His voice cracked in annoyance while I narrowed my eyes.
“Why do you seem infuriated?”
He restlessly sighed. “Before we came to the mission, he wanted to come along but I didn’t want to as if something happens, we’d be weighed down by responsibility. Needless to say, rather than recognition, we might get punished.”
He parted from me, tightly holding my shoulders, “I would never want to lose you again. You said we were lovers back then”, he grinned at me, “I may not bear the memories had back then yet… I feel like I’ve known you for the longest time than I’ve ever known.”
“You know that I don’t want you saying those things. I am not going to die because of this.”
He giggled, “I really don’t know what to say to make you feel less stressed.”
I leaned on his chest, “I was so anxious before, it’s true. But since we promised to stay together, I want to rely on you just like as you said.”
As the silence engulfed us, we embraced each other. Until we heard knocks on the door. I forgot temporarily that we were in a different house. I held Zaren’s hand then I spoke enough for the recipient to hear me.
“Please come in.”
Gently, the door was opened then I was greeted with a woman. She had a pink hair, unique than what we usually have here. Mostly have brown, black, I’ve seen those who have red hairs but having pink hair means you’re unique. Sometimes, hair color correspondence to one’s power or mana or her ability.
So right now, I am wondering what kind of power she has to have such a pretty hair color. It was fascinating. Her eyes seemed to be like the clear-sky, evident to every emotion she has and she has faint expression on her face.
This is Evangeline, the Crown Prince’s lover? She literally could pass on as a Princess because of her gorgeousness. Now I wonder since I have the title of the most beautiful woman in this kingdom, shouldn’t it be the time to change that recognition to Evangeline? She is the epitome of beauty if I must say. And that is no exaggeration.
I widened my eyes, glanced at Zaren then pulled a chair for her. I let go of Zaren’s hand who drew the curtains and windows opened.
I sat across her who placed the teapot on the table.
“Duke informed me that you’re awake, I’m glad to see you’re well now.”
I smiled at her, “Thank you for the worries. I accidentally made you concerned and had you worked up.”
She giggled at me, making me blushed. Hey, ever her voice sounded so sweet, how can I not like her? This should be the very reason why the Crown Prince bore feelings for her, since anyone could see how she was concerned to anyone when she hasn’t been with them for a long special time.
I couldn’t help but smile then heard her, “It’s really not a big deal. The Duke has helped me once and I couldn’t be more grateful to be able to take care of his beloved wife.”
I flushed red when she said I am Zaren’s beloved wife. Really, I am not that used to be called that way.
I told her, “Thank you so much for your hospitality. We may stay longer, would you mind?”
She dismissively waved her hand, “No worries, even if you settle here for a year.”
I coughed. Even if she was willing, isn’t one year a little bit too long? Aside from that, she will be the one to sustain our food even if I will of course volunteer to help her.
I sighed in relief. “That is a bit too long”, I looked around, “Don’t worry, we wouldn’t stay that much. Anyhow, how have you been? Right, I am Amari Valkyrine.”
She laughed, offering a handshake to which I was glad. She beamed at me, “I am Evangeline Grace, I am but a commoner so I hope you could overlook some things I am not versed with.”
Oh my, even her sugarcoated words feels so heavenly.
I vigorously nodded my head, agreeing with her immediately.
“Of course, of course. How about we share this tea to have some chit chat?”
I looked at Zaren who raised a brow to me and then surrendered. He left the room and we laughed at his helplessness. Who would have thought Zaren would act that way? He was always helpless in front of me.
