Chapter 96

Chapter 96

Alexander glanced at Sabrina as if just waking from a dream: "It looks pleasant."

Seeing through Alexander's absent-mindedness, Sabrina's initially happy heart suddenly sank.

She probed for the time being: "Alexander, are you worried about Charlotte?"

Alexander neither confirmed nor denied it, only letting out a soft sigh: "There are only about ten days left in the divorce cooling-off period, but I don't know why? The relationship between her and me seems to be getting worse and worse."

Sabrina's hands tightened around the clothes, but the next moment she smiled and comforted him: "Charlotte has liked you for so many years, how could she really bear to leave you?"

As she spoke, she shot Calvin a look.

Calvin got the hint and quickly chimed in: "Charlotte is just holding her breath to fight you to the end! Alexander, listen to me, you absolutely can't go soft, or else she'll bully Sabrina even more recklessly in the future."

Sabrina pretentiously added at the right moment: "As long as Alexander and Charlotte make up, I don't care if I get bullied or not."

Calvin looked exasperated: "You are such a generous man."

Alexander, who had been conflicted, seemed to be moved by these words: "Sabrina, you really are the best. But there's something I want to discuss with you."

Sabrina's eyes were dewy: "Just say it, as long as I can do it, anything is fine."

Alexander breathed a sigh of relief: "Sabrina, that sapphire pendant is a keepsake Charlotte's mother left her, could you possibly..."

As if finding it hard to say, Alexander couldn't continue.

A flash of embarrassment and anger quickly crossed Sabrina's beautiful eyes.

Even at this moment, Alexander was still protecting that bitch Charlotte!

She was furious inside, but Sabrina's face remained smiling and understanding: "Alexander, you don't need to say more, I understand everything."

"Actually, I didn't really want Charlotte's sapphire pendant, I just wanted to scare her a bit, make her back down, but I didn't expect her to be so stubborn."

"I've already thought it through - one month after the competition ends, I'll return the sapphire pendant to Charlotte."

"First, it will teach Charlotte a lesson not to act impulsively in the future, and second, Elara kept pestering me just now, and I had no choice but to agree to lend her the sapphire pendant to wear for a month."

"So, one month - one month later I promise to return the sapphire pendant to Charlotte."

Alexander felt relieved, looking at Sabrina with increasing appreciation: "That's already very good, thank you, Sabrina."

Calvin, however, ground his teeth secretly and muttered: "But this is so unfair to Sabrina."

Sabrina gave him a reproachful look: "Calvin, stop it."

Behind the scenes, a mocking smile curved Sabrina's thin lips.

Who could guarantee that nothing would happen to the sapphire pendant during the month it was in Elara's hands?

Time passed bit by bit, and Jenna had already taken Philip to the dressing room to change for their performance.

At the same time, a teacher came to notify Charlotte that they should go backstage to wait, as it would soon be their turn to perform as the finale.

Outside the auditorium, after giving instructions to his assistant, Landon ran into the hall.

After sitting down, he realized that Alexander, Cynthia and the others happened to be seated right next to him.

Seeing him, Cynthia deliberately let out a long sigh: "Ah, some people just have terrible judgment, trusting just anyone."

"If they embarrass themselves on stage later, it'll be quite a spectacle."

Alexander glanced at Cynthia: "Mom, stop it."

But Cynthia snorted coldly: "What? Can't even tell the truth now?"

Alexander turned his face away and sighed helplessly.

Landon, however, never indulged Cynthia, and immediately replied with a smile: "You're absolutely right, some people do have terrible judgment, bringing just anyone home."

Cynthia couldn't take it, her voice rising sharply: "Landon, what do you mean by that?"

But Landon shushed her, gesturing for her to look around: "Don't forget, you represent the Forbes Family image."

Sure enough, extremely conscious of her status, Cynthia immediately looked around and indeed saw quite a few people looking her way.

Instantly, she quickly lowered her head, pretending to fix her hair.

But her chest felt like a stone was pressing on it, making her grind her teeth in anger.

'Charlotte, Landon, just you wait! Once Sabrina and Owen take first place, I'll show you how I'll humiliate you!' she thought.

Backstage.

Charlotte and Sabrina ran into each other once again.

The two stopped simultaneously, sizing each other up.

Because they were both wearing shawls, they couldn't see each other's full appearance for the moment.

But catching sight of the hand-painted vines winding up Sabrina's white dress, Charlotte sighed softly.

Similarly, the moment Sabrina saw Charlotte, she couldn't help but be slightly surprised.

The clothes Charlotte made actually looked pretty good.

Could she really understand design?

Impossible.

If Charlotte really understood design, she would have rushed to the company to help Alexander long ago, to keep him tied to her side at all times.

How could she be willing to stay home as a full-time wife, being mocked, even despised by her husband and son?

So she was overthinking it.

Charlotte must have hired someone outside to help with the design, or else she used sketches Lynn had left behind.

But either way, Charlotte was performing after her.

Charlotte was bound to lose!

And when the live-streamed video spread online, everyone would only remember her stunning talent, and wouldn't remember the previous video incident anymore.

However, Calvin, who had been by Sabrina's side the whole time, found Charlotte unpleasant and was constantly thinking of ways to upset her.

"Charlotte, why bother? Aren't you just humiliating yourself?"

"Why don't you apologize to Sabrina in front of everyone and promise not to bully her anymore, and I'll put in a good word for you, persuade Sabrina to give up the bet and let you off, how about that?"

As if looking at some strange animal, Charlotte looked him up and down several times before saying lightly: "You're sick."

Calvin was about to explode, but was stopped by Sabrina, who gently shook her head.

After calming Calvin down, Sabrina felt nothing but disdain inside.

Calvin was simply useless, never achieving anything when facing Charlotte!

If it weren't for the fact that he was stupid enough and easy to control, she really wouldn't want to see him anymore.

After glaring at Calvin secretly, Sabrina followed Charlotte toward the waiting area.

There were several other groups of parents waiting to perform in the waiting area. When they saw Charlotte and Sabrina approaching, they all avoided Charlotte and gathered around Sabrina to chat.

Although everyone felt Charlotte was quite pitiful - clearly the legitimate Mrs. Forbes, yet not liked even by her own family.

But who told her to have no education and no background?

Looking at it this way, she really wasn't as good as Sabrina, who had the suspicion of being a mistress.

At least Sabrina was a top graduate from Aurora College and was valued by Quentin from the Design Association, with limitless prospects.

Charlotte didn't care about these people's attitudes. Instead, she sat with Philip on the other side, quietly telling him not to be nervous, just remember the moves from rehearsal.

Before long, the parents in the waiting area took their children to compete one after another.

Soon it would be Sabrina and Owen's turn to go on stage.

Sabrina gracefully stood up from her chair and smiled provocatively at Charlotte: "Charlotte, I'll take Owen on stage first then."

Charlotte glanced at her indifferently, too lazy to speak.

But unexpectedly, after walking a couple of steps with Sabrina, Owen suddenly turned back to look at Charlotte.
