Chapter 46

Chapter 46

After hanging up, Alexander looked at the breakfast in front of him and lost his appetite.

Sabrina, who had been listening quietly nearby, finally looked up with a knowing expression. "Alexander, don't worry. I'll help you solve this."

Alexander looked at her in disbelief. "You? That's impossible."

"Why would it be impossible?" Sabrina asked seriously. "Hasn't Charlotte been angry with you because of me all along?"

"Then I'll go beg her. I’ll agree to anything I can do.”

"That way, she should give the medicine to your mom. Maybe she'll even get back together with you."

With that, Sabrina put down her utensils and turned to leave.

Watching her delicate figure, Alexander suddenly felt moved.

All along, Sabrina had been the only one willing to stand by his side without complaint.

Although she had gone abroad for a few years, in his heart she was still that innocent, naive girl.

His heart stirred, and he quickly caught up with her and grabbed her arm. "Don't go. What if she forces you to go abroad again?"

Sabrina stayed silent, her eyes reddening. Then she gritted her teeth and shook off Alexander's hand. "I don't care."

"I only know Mrs. Forbes got dragged into this because of me. Calvin too. Even you..."

Alexander quickly followed her, coaxing her as he held her and pressed Sabrina back into her chair. "I'll handle the medicine. You just focus on preparing for your exhibition."

Sabrina's eyes reddened again. "Alexander, I don't deserve you treating me so well."

Alexander rested a hand on her shoulder. "What silly talk is that? No one deserves it more than you."

"Alexander..."

Out of Alexander's sight, Sabrina's lips curved quickly into a triumphant smile.

Charlotte's apartment.

Recently, without Alexander and Owen's interference, Charlotte's inspiration had been getting better and better, practically overflowing with ideas.

So now she was racing against time, trying to get every idea in her head onto paper.

When her phone rang, she realized she had forgotten to eat lunch.

"Declan, what's up?"

The clear male voice came through. "Charlotte, don't push yourself too hard. Remember to eat properly."

Charlotte answered guiltily. "Don't worry. I just had shrimp for lunch."

Declan's cheerful laugh came through. "Then I'm relieved."

"By the way, our teacher's death anniversary is in two days. Too bad I can't make it back this year."

Charlotte felt warmth in her heart. "It's okay. I'll tell her you couldn't come back because you were helping me."

After chatting for a while, Charlotte reluctantly hung up.

Declan Campbell was the student Lynn was most satisfied with. She had always treated him like her own son and even paid for him to study abroad.

Declan hadn't let Lynn down. He became an internationally renowned designer and treated Charlotte like his own sister.

That's why she had no hesitation in handing all the studio matters over to him.

Taking a deep breath, she grabbed some crackers to eat, then buried herself in her designs again.

Meanwhile, Alexander was personally arranging for Sabrina to join the Forbes Group.

To help Sabrina become a well-known designer as quickly as possible, he wanted to give her more solid backing in addition to connections and resources.

That meant having her join the Forbes Group as design director and using the entire company to support her.

The Forbes Group was the industry leader in River City. Combined with Lynn's connections and Sabrina's talent, he believed Sabrina would soon soar!

This was the only way he could slightly make up for what he owed Sabrina...

Just as he finished instructing his assistant, Sabrina arrived.

They chatted briefly, then the assistant came in and said an important client had arrived and was waiting in the conference room.

So Alexander hurried off, even leaving his phone in the office.

Sabrina sat bored on the sofa with her eyes closed when a ringtone suddenly woke her.

It was Alexander's phone.

Sabrina didn't want to bother with it, but the phone kept ringing over and over.

Was it something urgent?

Sabrina stood up and walked over. Nicole?

Thinking of how Nicole had treated her, Sabrina's eyes burned with hatred.

“If you hadn't interfered back then, I would already be Mrs. Forbes," she thought.

Sabrina was about to turn off the phone, but just as her finger touched the screen, a sudden thought flashed through her mind. Why was she so urgently looking for Alexander? Had something happened to that old woman, Nicole?

Why not listen and make herself happy?

So she changed direction and pressed answer.

Nicole's slightly weathered voice came through at once. "Alexander, don't forget that the day after tomorrow is Charlotte's mother's death anniversary. Remember to make time to go with her."

"Otherwise, I won't let you off."

Sabrina cursed silently!

The next moment, she deliberately lowered her voice. "Grandma, I know."

Nicole paused. "Huh, what's wrong with your voice? Do you have a cold?"

Sabrina didn't dare say more and simply gave a low mm.

Nicole paused, then said kindly, "Take care of yourself."

Then she hung up.

Sabrina deleted the call record, then slowly put down the phone, her eyebrow lifting with an ill-intentioned smile.

Lynn's death anniversary? If Nicole hadn't mentioned it, she would have almost forgotten.

So when Alexander returned to the office, Sabrina pretended to have just remembered. "Alexander, the day after tomorrow is Monday. How about we schedule my first day for then?"

Alexander frowned.

Originally, he had set the start date for next Tuesday so there would be enough time to prepare and celebrate.

He looked at Sabrina's bright, hopeful expression and finally nodded. "Alright, whatever you want."

"Alexander, you're so good to me!"

That evening, Landon came to see Philip and pick him and Charlotte up for dinner.

Halfway through the meal, Landon suddenly asked, "What are you planning to do about the divorce?"

Charlotte almost choked.

Could this kind of thing be discussed in front of Philip? But when she saw Philip eating with complete focus, she relaxed.

"I have the surveillance footage of Calvin pushing me. If he won't sign, I'll just sue Calvin directly."

"Then we'll see if he chooses Calvin or the divorce."

Landon gave a noncommittal smile. "How much compensation do you want? Should I introduce you to a lawyer?"

"According to the law, you can get half of the marital assets."

Charlotte put down her knife and fork and pressed her lips together. "No need."

"I had planned to leave with nothing, but Calvin went too far this time. No matter what, I have to teach them a lesson. So this time I'm asking Alexander for a hundred million."

"A hundred million?" Landon was slightly surprised. "Little Charlotte, you're still too kind."

Charlotte shook her head gently. "It's not kindness. I want to cut ties with Alexander as soon as possible."

"A hundred million isn't excessive, and Alexander will agree more readily."

Landon raised an eyebrow and looked at Charlotte more intently.

Just then, Charlotte's phone suddenly rang.
