Chapter 155

Chapter 155

Finally, Alexander looked away, his eyes revealing deep disappointment.

But Charlotte felt nothing inside.

Because when it came to Alexander, she had long stopped having any expectations.

She no longer cared what he thought about her.

"Fine." Alexander said at last. "Once Sabrina wakes up, I'll ask her what she thinks and then call you."

With that, he turned and walked away.

Desperate to know where Jenna was, Charlotte was about to chase after him unwillingly, but Calvin grabbed her arm.

"Charlotte, I suggest you just do as you're told."

"Otherwise, I can't guarantee I'll remember where I took Jenna."

With that, he roughly shook off Charlotte's hand and strode out of the private room arrogantly, like a victor.

Charlotte quietly clenched her fists.

But when she remembered that she still needed Calvin to find Jenna, she slowly relaxed her hands.

At that moment, Zack hurried over to her side, anger written all over his face. "Ms. Spencer, are you okay? Should I call Mr. Landon Forbes right now?"

Charlotte shook her head. "No need. Landon is still out of town. Let's not bother him."

"Let's wait for now. If they still won't talk by tomorrow, then we'll call the police!"

With no new leads and nothing else she could do for now, Charlotte had no choice but to return to her apartment and wait for news.

But because she was worried about Jenna, she barely slept all night.

She kept checking her phone to see if Alexander had called.

As dawn approached, she had just managed to close her eyes when she was suddenly awakened by her phone ringing.
Still half asleep, she reached for it and saw that the call was from Cynthia.

She didn't want to answer, but the phone kept ringing.

After rolling her eyes mentally, she finally picked up.

"Charlotte, get over here right now!" The moment the call connected, Cynthia's shrill voice exploded in Charlotte's ear.

Charlotte smiled let out a cold, mocking smile.

Cynthia really hadn't changed at all.

Charlotte was about to divorce Alexander, yet Cynthia was still acting superior and bossy.

Charlotte's voice was extremely cold as she responded. "Mrs. Forbes, what do you want?"

On the other end, Cynthia seemed even angrier. "Owen has a fever, and you still have time to care about other people's children? Get back here now!"

Charlotte replied lightly, "I'm not a doctor. There's no point looking for me."

Cynthia's voice doubled in volume with anger. "How can you say something so cold and heartless? Owen is your biological son!"

Charlotte's voice remained emotionless. "In two more days, Alexander and I will officially divorce. Owen will belong to your family and won't have anything to do with me anymore."

"Of course, if you can't take care of Owen, I'm willing to take custody."

"You're really willing to divorce Alexander? No regrets?" Hearing the word divorce, Cynthia's voice immediately became excited, and she even forgot about Owen's fever.

She was indeed excited.

All this time, she had felt that Charlotte, with her low education and poor background, wasn't good enough for Alexander. She had even dreamed more than once about Charlotte and Alexander getting divorced.

When Owen suddenly developed a fever today, she realized that, at her age, caring for him through the night would be too much for her.
She didn't quite trust leaving it to the servants.

Plus, Owen kept calling for Charlotte, she finally condescended to calling her.

After all, a reliable and free babysitter—why not use her?

Unexpectedly, she heard the news of the divorce from Charlotte herself.

It seemed this time it was real.

Hearing Cynthia's undisguised excitement, Charlotte smiled slightly. "Regret? Impossible."

Cynthia paused. "Good! Remember what you said today, and don't you dare go back on it."

After a pause, she softened her tone slightly. "Charlotte, don't blame me for nagging."

"From the beginning, I said that someone like you who didn't even finish high school isn't good enough for Alexander. Divorce was bound to happen sooner or later."

"But considering you gave Alexander Owen, I'll remind you—after the divorce, it's best to make a clean break."

"Don't go around saying you're Owen's mother."

"Because having a woman with little education and no social standing as his mother will only cause trouble for Owen."
After saying that, Cynthia hung up directly.

Wonderful!

Alexander could officially divorce Charlotte in a couple of days!

Originally, Cynthia had planned to make Charlotte clarify Alexander and Sabrina's relationship in front of those society ladies, but now it seemed completely unnecessary.

In a few more days, she could wave Alexander's divorce certificate right in the faces of those spreading rumors!

Let's see if anyone still dares say Alexander had an affair! After clearing up the truth, she would convince Alexander to remarry someone from a prominent family. Then, with the new daughter-in-law's family's support, the Forbes Group would surely reach new heights.

The more Cynthia thought about it, the happier she became.

Once she finished the call with Cynthia, Charlotte was wide awake.
She checked the time—it was already past seven in the morning.

She carefully checked her phone again. Alexander still hadn't called her!

No, she had to go to the hospital herself.

She didn't believe that trading Jenna's whereabouts for Sabrina's health wouldn't move him.

Having made up her mind, Charlotte quickly got up.

After hurriedly changing clothes and going downstairs, she saw Zack.

"Zack? Why are you still here? Don't tell me you didn't go home all night?"

Zack smiled. "Mr. Landon Forbes was worried you might need something during the night, so he asked me to stay here and watch over you."

Charlotte was a bit speechless, and also felt sorry for Zack. "Thanks for your hard work."

Zack scratched his hair. "It's nothing, I'm used to it."

Charlotte was surprised. "Used to it?"

Only then did Zack realize he'd let something slip, and quickly covered. "I mean I'm used to working overtime."

Seeing that Charlotte wasn't suspicious, Zack secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Soon, Charlotte arrived at Hopewell Hospital.

After finding out which room Sabrina was in, Charlotte rushed over.

As soon as the elevator doors opened and Charlotte stepped out, she heard someone call, "Charlotte?"

Before Charlotte could react, Jordan, wearing a white coat, had already pulled her aside.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" A flash of worry crossed Jordan's clean-cut face.

Charlotte was in a hurry to find Alexander. "No, I'm fine."

Jordan breathed a sigh of relief. "Then are you here to see a patient?"

Charlotte nodded. "Yes, I'm here to see Sabrina."

A shadow passed through Jordan's eyes.

Last night, he'd heard from Debra about what happened at the gallery. Feeling bad that Charlotte had been wronged, he was planning to get off work early today to pick up Lily and take the opportunity to check on Charlotte.

But unexpectedly, when he came to work this morning, he heard that Sabrina had been hospitalized last night, and Alexander had stayed with her all night.

He was secretly feeling indignant on Charlotte's behalf when she appeared right before his eyes.

Could it be that she still couldn't let go? Couldn't give up on Alexander? So she rushed over to find him?

Despite his thoughts, Jordan still smiled warmly. "I just finished checking on her. Let me take you there."

Charlotte hadn't wanted to involve Jordan, but seeing the sincerity in his eyes, she nodded in agreement.

Jordan said, "Let's go."

At the end of the hallway, Calvin was smoking.

Through the smoke, he saw a man and woman walking side by side toward him.

The man was Jordan, who had just finished examining Sabrina. The woman was actually Charlotte!

They were chatting and laughing, standing so close together!
