Chapter 108

Chapter 108

Owen remembered very clearly that Charlotte used to make him nutritious soup every day as well.

There was even a period when she would come over at lunchtime just to bring him soup. But he had gotten sick of it long ago, so when the teacher wasn't looking, he would secretly dump all the soup into the trash can.

Yet now, the other kids were fighting over the very soup he used to despise so much?

While Owen stood there in a daze, Philip quietly walked over.

"Owen, you and Sabrina lost."

Looking at Philip's smug face, Owen got annoyed. "What's there to be proud of? Sabrina and I will win it back sooner or later."

But Philip started discussing seriously with him, "It's so strange, Charlotte is so great, why don't you like her?"

Owen's temper spiked "Because Sabrina is smarter and prettier than her, unlike Mom, who just stays home all day and can't do anything."

Philip looked at him like he was an idiot, then waved over the other kids.

"Tell me, who's prettier, Charlotte or Sabrina?"

The children answered in unison. "Charlotte is prettier!"

Philip pressed further. "And who's smarter, Charlotte or Sabrina?"

The children answered in unison again. "Charlotte is smarter!"

Owen was stunned. "I won't let you talk about Sabrina like that! She's better than my mom!"

Philip rolled his eyes. "Then tell us, what exactly is so good about her?"

Owen said angrily, "Sabrina buys me chips and fried chicken every day!"

Philip shrugged and told him, "Eating too much will make you short."

Owen sputtered, "Sabrina also often treats me to candy and ice cream!"

Philip replied, "Eating too much sugar will give you cavities and make you sick."

At this point, the kids around them started chiming in.

"My mom said not to eat random things from outside, or you'll get sick."

"That's right, my mom doesn't let me eat random things either."

"Me too."

Philip smugly crossed his arms. "Owen, did you hear that? Charlotte is just like all the other moms. They don't let us eat random things from outside. And Charlotte and the others don't mind the trouble. They make us nutritious soup to help us grow tall."

Owen's little face turned bright red. "What's so good about nutritious soup? I'm sick of it! Besides, Sabrina is busy, she's a designer! Not like my mom, who just hovers around you all day and has no real skills!"

He thought that after saying all this, he would totally defeat Philip and win back his position as the most popular kid.

After all, before Philip transferred here, he was the teacher's and the kids' favorite child.

But Owen was disappointed.

Because after hearing everything, all the kids gathered around Philip even more enviously.

"Philip, my parents never come home. Can you lend me Charlotte?"

"Philip, my mom is always on business trips. I'll give you all my money if you let Charlotte spend one day with me, okay?"

"Please, lend me Charlotte for just one day, okay?"

"Charlotte is so amazing! She can cook delicious food, she's beautiful, and she can make pretty clothes."

One little girl even said with great envy, "I wish I were Charlotte's child. Then I'd have a beautiful mom who cares about me. Just thinking about it makes me happy."

Owen thought all the kids had gone crazy.

The mom he had always looked down on, they actually wanted her so badly?

Philip saw Owen's dejected look and smiled even more happily.

"No way, I want Charlotte to stay with me all the time. Plus, Charlotte and I already agreed that she'll take me to a party this weekend."

The kids immediately felt disappointed.

Only Owen, hearing about the party, suddenly had his eyes light up.

That afternoon, at the Forbes Family estate.

In the gazebo in the back garden, several wealthy ladies around Cynthia's age were sitting together, chatting and laughing.

Cynthia sat in the center. She lifted a white porcelain coffee cup with carved patterns, took a small sip, and smiled. "Ladies, if you know any outstanding young men or young ladies, please let me know."

The noblewoman closest to Cynthia was confused. "You're really joking. I can understand finding a match for Elara, but why do you need a young lady? Are you short on daughters?"

Cynthia gave everyone a meaningful look.

"You don't know. Charlotte's education is poor to begin with, and she has no sense of propriety. Now she's always running around outside, not even caring about her own son. A woman like that, we're better off without her."

The middle-aged noblewomen smiled and nodded, casually agreeing.

"That's true, a woman like that really won't do."

"Alexander is young and accomplished. Charlotte really isn't good enough for him."

They went back and forth, making Cynthia smile with satisfaction.

She had decided. The daughters of these families were all quite good, not only beautiful but from excellent backgrounds.

However, she had to drop some hints first. She couldn't let Alexander miss out, and this would also ruin Sabrina's chance of marrying Alexander.

So Cynthia's smile became even warmer.

"I'm not bragging, but Alexander is not only a good person, his abilities are beyond question. In just a few years, he's made the Forbes Group even more successful than when his father ran it. The only problem is that he married such a wife and has been dragged down by her. So I'm thinking, if it really doesn't work out, they might as well divorce."

Hearing this, the society ladies exchanged glances with each other.

No wonder, this time when they came over, they didn't see the ever-dutiful Charlotte.
