Secrets

"Please, I demand to be filled in to what is going on. You're not going to talk in codes in front of me." Peter whined and James just clicked his tongue.

"I don't think there's anything for us to fill you in with. You already know what is going on, we are planning to get rid of the Shadows and demon and protect our own people. I do not need to ask you which side you are on because we already know that, so if you would please excuse me... we have to get going." James rasped out and began walking, taking the lead while Peter just stared at him.

"Hey...guys. Wait up! What happened to him? Why is he suddenly acting like he can actually do something?" Peter questioned because it was strange seeing James being lead of everything.

He was known of always lagging behind and always keeping others behind due to his incompetence but right now it seemed like he had broken that and was the one finally leading them.

"Trust me, we have no idea. He just changed like swapped he beings. If I haven't known James for long, I would have said it's not him but another soul that has been imputed into his body. It feels weird though." Kate commented while they all match forward.

I think we have a situation but please before I spell it out do not panic do not freak out I don't make me lose my mind James urged and did not dead before he spread the map on the ground.

"Every route on this map comes to a dead end. I noticed it at first with the map but then I decided to have my first try."

"As you all can see, this is a dead end but I thought something is wrong with the map. I think it has been controlled with magic." James said and they all stared at each other before staring back at him.

"What do you mean by a map is being controlled with magic? Let me see." Peter asked, stretching his hands out and James pressed the paper into his hand.

"But how there is no exit point? Are we trapped in another world or something? I mean how did you guys find me, you should get something from there." Peter asked as every one began panicking.

"It was Rico." James simply said as he placed his hands on his chain and sat on the brambles.

"What do you mean by it was him? Is there any way we can connect with him, maybe he can provide a way out of here." Alec suggested and Kate nodded in agreement.

"Thats true."

"No!" James vehemently refused as he raised his hands to signify that he was serious about it.

"Even if we try to ask for his help I doubt he would extend it because he was the one who sent us here in first place."

"What are your thoughts on Rico?" Kate asked as she placed her palms on her chin.

"Its simple, he betrayed us. Or he wasn't even on our side from the onset, he just wanted to gain trust."

"What the actual hell!" Peter breathed out and unanimously, they sat down on the brambles as they let their thoughts wander.

Trapped in the ominous forest, James, Kelly, Peter, Kate, Alec, and Sam found themselves facing a seemingly impossible situation.

They had trusted a supposed ally, only to be betrayed and led into the den of demons.

The fight had been fierce, and James, the leader of the group, had triumphed over the demons.

But now, as the eerie silence settled in the forest, they realized they were still far from safe.

With no way out in sight, their morale plummeted.

They just sat there thinking because there was clearly nowhere to go till night descended.

They decided to walk around the forest like headless chickens hoping that they would find something that could guarantee their safety.

Their journey through the datk, overgrown trees seemed endless and they were getting tired of it.

Suddenly, a beam of moonlight pierced through the dense canopy of leaves, illuminating a narrow road that seemed to appear out of nowhere. They exchanged a cautious glance, wondering if this path was another trap or the much-needed way out.

"It's worth a shot," Peter said, his words barely audible in the thick silence. "Anything is better than staying here."

The others nodded in agreement, their hope flaring in the darkness. Cautiously, they made their way towards the narrow road, each step filled with tension.

As they inched closer to the mysterious road, an eerie feeling descended upon them. The air grew colder, and the trees seemed to creak and whisper with the wind.

James stopped abruptly, his hand raised in a signal to halt the group. "Wait," he whispered, peering through the darkness. "Something doesn't feel right. The air is heavy with magic."

Kate, the group's mage, reached out with her senses, attempting to decipher the nature of the magic that surrounded them. "It's...old," she breathed. "I've never felt anything like it."

The group hesitated, unsure of what to do. James glanced at the others, weighing the potential risks of the situation. But with no other options available, he made a decision.

"We have to keep moving. Staying here is not an option. Kate, stay close to me. I'll need your magic if we encounter more demons."

The group pressed onward, following the narrow road as it twisted and turned through the dense forest. The air was heavy with dread, and they felt like they were being watched from the shadows.

Suddenly, Kelly stumbled, a vine snaking its way around her ankle.

"Kelly!" Peter cried, reaching out to help his friend. But as he grabbed the vine to free her, a shrill scream pierced the air. Kelly vanished, pulled into the depths of the forest with shocking speed.

"Kelly!" The group shouted in unison, scrambling to catch a glimpse of their friend. But the forest was silent, almost as if it had swallowed her up.

"She's gone," Alec whispered, his face pale. "What do we do now?"

James's eyes blazed with determination. "We find her. Whatever did this, we can defeat it.
