The name
"Yeah,i heard you. Don't rub it in by calling me sweetheart?" Carly snickered clicking her tongue as she stared at her grandmother.
"Well you asked me to repeat what I said and I thought you didnt hear me clearly the first time." Brida fired back and Carly paused to stare at Brida for a few seconds.
"I don't have hearing issues, do I? Or was there any time when you were told that I needed hearing aids or something?" Carly retorted squinting her eyes as she glared at her grandmother.
"But you asked for it. You just told me that when you ask for something, I should serve it to you straight up without mincing words so there you go. Unbridled and raw." Brida shot back and Carly tilted her head to a coner as she gazed at Brida, her granny.
"Are we even arguing about this at this point in time?" Carly questioned and Brida just raised an eye brow.
"Yeah, I mean we realize we are in a den of demons and instead of us to look for a way to get the hell out of here, we are arguing. Which normal people does that?" Carly questioned as she placed both hands on her head, emphasis to show she was brainstorming.
"Well, I guess we are not normal people. Or are we now?" Brida asked and Carly sighed resignedly.
"You seem to want to pick up a issue on everything I say and its pissing me off to be very honest. I kind of like want to ask you why you didnt die when I took your demon and we all thought you died?" Carly questioned, opening up an old wound that Brida meant to lay aside for a while.
"Carky, let's not go there. Let's not venture into that. I'm literally begging you." Brida said, her voice low and condescending.
"No, I want to go there because it all feels strange. You die and then bow I realize you're no dead, what am I supposed to learn next? That you're one of the demon leaders or something? How am I even sure you didnt arrange all of this?" Carly questioned twitching her left brows and Brida's lips pursed into a straight line.
"Arrange all of what Carly? You've got to be kidding me?" Brida scoffed, rolling eyes in the process.
"Its possible because my granny I know is quite capable of lot now worse things. You know, you could plan your death...run over here to dine and wine with the demons then try to drag me into all these drama. Finally makes sense while they trust you enough to give you a prison key." Carly commented and Brida rolled her eyes yet again.
"I don't have anything to say to you, Carly. You already got it all figure out so what's the use og my point anyways. It would just make the story more long and detailed." Brida said and stood to leave when Carly grabbed her by the arms.
"I only need you to answer one wustion from me...just one, I'm not asking for more." Carly said, tightening her grip around granny's arms.
"Well, what is it? If its as weird as everything you just explained right now then please save it." Brida instructed and Carly held a slight smirk by the corner of her lips.
"Are you with the demons or not?" Carly questioned and Brida stared at Carly thoughtfully for some second before finally answering as she cleared her throat.
"Carly, you're held hostage and so am I. And saying atht they have me the keys...well they gave it to me because it was to their benefit." Brida said and Carly stared at her for a few moment vefkr emoytjing an "Oh".
"Yeah, so you might try to investigate before placing all of your troubles on someone else's shoulder. And its not like, its bad for spmeone to have your back..just don't dump it on their shoulders." Brida advice's but Carly's thought had taken a dofgerent lath immediately.
"Grant, you've stayed here longer than I. Surely you mist know something, tell me how do we get out of this place?" Carly inquired and Brida began shaking her side sideways in negativity.
"What?" Carly asked as Brida wojdlnt open her mouth up.
"That's a dead end Carly." Brida simply said and Carly snickered.
"There has to be....and oh...for some.minutes there, I forgot that I could cast spells and stop time." Carly said and smiled broadly but Brida's soft and sad eyes were completely misunderstood by Carly.
"Grab unto my arms. That way, I don't think it would affect you." Carly recounted as she took in a long and deep breath shutting her eyes close.
She repeated the process for about 5 times before she was finallynresd to summon as much spiritual energy as she had to channel, to be Able to access the supernatural part of her.
"On the wings of winds, I transcend time." Carly began shutting her eyes as she began muttering the spell.
"On the wheels of darkness, i suspend fate."
"On a cloud of peace, I hold the three keys to life." Carly chanted and raised her hands in a priest like manner like she was trying to connect with something.
Few seconds passed by and Carly's eyes were still sit yet nothing had changed.
She hadn't stopped time and freezer existence.
The temperature in her room that was supposed to be heightened and at freezing point was as warm as ever.
And thats when it dawned on Carly that exiting this place wouldn't be as easy as she thought.
"Carly, your powers don't work in here. When you're here, they practically control everything including your minds. They are just in absolute control so Carly, I'm sure one or two other people.might have told you this and I assure you that ut was the same thing I heard when I came. Carly, you have to be a good girl." Brida repeatedly and watching granny cry raised up all that funny emotions within her that she wished she could kick out as soon as possible.
"Carly, you really have to be a good girl or the next option is death." Brida advice's staring into Carly's eyes and Carly stood up abruptly.
"I can't succumb to defeat like this. Granny, there has to be some other way." Carly begged as tears threatened to gush out of her eyes.
"Don't cry now eh. There's no other way, just be good." Brida repeatedly like it was some curse that she couldn't stop herself from hearing.
"So I'm supposed to put up with a bunch of guys that ireitates the hell out of you huh? Yeah, tell me how easy that is." Carly requested and Brida cleared her throat before she proceeded on explaining.
"Well, its good enough because if you're able to put up with it...you won't have to get all fidgety about your life. Life is ensured and that's all that matters right?" Brida questioned and for the first time in a while, Carly actually had to accept that Granny was right.
"So what's this I'm hearing that you have more blood than liquid flowing through your hands?" Brida asked and Carly began staring at her arms.
"What do you Mean ?" Carly asked staring at her right palm, rather too inquisitive.
"Don't act like a dumbo when I bring up issues that you're aware of."
"You are a murderer Carly!"
That name, that name that suited all her fucked up parts properly.
