Lost

"Where am I?" Carly asked as she stirred in her sleep and opened her eye to awaken to an unfamiliar environment.

Opening her eyes was a hassle because the instant she tried opening her eyes by fluttering her eye lids a little bit, the light Ray's hit her eyes and it hurt so much, she had to shut it.

She repeated the process for like 3 times over before her eyes got used to the light and she stared around.

"You might want to lay back down for a while." A hoarse voice responded from across the room as the flipping of papers came alongside.

"Who are you?" She said as her senses immediately came alive and she sat upright on the bed as she abruptly adjusted to the light in the room after a few and constant flickering of her eye lashes.

"Do you really want to know that now?" The same hoarse voice which belonged to a man that Carly had never met, questioned and she rolled her eyes at the fact that he was replying her question with a question.

"Are you obsessed with answering questions with questions or what? How did I get here?" Carly furiously asked as she folded her fist when she felt a sharp pain on the left side of her head like she had been hitting.

As the pain hit her, she felt something like a bolt of lightening flash right in front of her eyes.

She tried raising her hands to hold her head, that's when she felt the additional force that held her hands down.

She was strapped to chains that were locked to each corner of the bed.

Initially, she thought something bad had happened to her and whoever this is had saved her but it seemed that the reverse was the case.

It was more like the person standing right before her was the same person that must have hit her and dragged her to this place because she couldn't get any recollections of willingly coming to this place.

Damn that! She couldn't even remember that events that had brought her to this place.

She tried to force herself to remember but it only made the persistent pain in her head get more and more unbearable.

"Who are you and what do you want from me?" She grunted in pain as it was obvious what was ongoing in this scenario, she was been held hostage.

"You've asked that question before and you didn't get any answer. What makes you think repeating it would help? Just shut up and recover, you'd need your full strength." The man with a tapering figure said and walked towards the door.

"You know you can't just hostage people because it would make you feel good about yourself, just let me go and maybe there wouldn't have to be a fight." Carly said and the man halted.

Though she couldn't recollect who she was other than the fact that her name was Carly, she knew that she was someone that was really powerful but her lineof thoughts were cut off when he began laughing

"You seriously think that I held you hostage just to feel good about myself? Are you serious? How mentally spoilt is your brain right now?" He asked and his questions took Carly aback.

"What do you mean?" Carly asked having had her ego bruised and the man stared into nothing thoughtfully before he sighed.

"Just recover. You would need your full strength." The man reiterated.

"Wait! Wait, what's going on? Why am I been held and what in the world would I need my strength for? I'm more than glad that you saved me and I would do anything to repay your kindness but you have to fill me in. This sort of feels like kidnap and..the chains?" Carly queried tugging at the chains that kept giving of that metal rustling.

"Thats where you got it all wrong, sweetheart. No one saved you, its quite far from that. So its better you lay down and reserve whatever energy you have left." He said and those were his last words before he exited the room.

"What do you mean?" Carly yelled but the man was already long gone.

"What in the world!!" Carly yelled yet again clicking her tongue in anger as she tried pulling her hands but it did her more harm than good as the chains got more strapped into her skin and gave off red blotches.

Those marks would probably remain there for a life time!

"Damn! Why can't I remember? And where am I?" She kept asking herself repeatedly struggling to remember but she couldn't.

Everything felt some blurry and hazy and it was quite a miracle that she could even remember her own name.

She tried using her powers to undo the chains but somehow she was unable to connect to that part of her. She couldn't grab hold of it and thats where she knew that whatever was going on here had doom waiting for her.

The room was white, every single thing in it and she kept wondering where such plush looking room was situated till she realized that they were actually moving.

A moving house? She mused and waved the idea.

Everything seemed strange and she would actually believe it without batting an eyelid if someone told her that she was actually losing her mind.

After few hours of moving, they eventually stopped and she couldn't help but notice that they had stopped.

Everything was weird for her considering the fact that no matter how she tried to be courageous and brave, she failed.

But the truth is, she wasn't scared either.

She wasn't tense!

She wasn't agitated!

There was actually no emotion flowing through her body at that moment. It was almost like her whole senses were numb.

And that wasn't at all a good sign.

It would have been best if she was feeling scared and jittery but when there are no emotions, the results weremost likely disastrous.

For a split second, the thought that she might have died and was been transported to hell crosssed her mind but exited almost immediately as it did.

Suddenly, the door creaked open and another man different from the last one that had spoken with her.

And even as much as she hated it, she realized that there was something that felt familiar between the two men that she had seen since she awakened.

The beast tattoos on their neck!

They had it at the same location, just right below their neck.

And she felt like she had seen that tattoo somewhere.

The only thing she couldn't place was where exactly she had seen the tattoo and the more she struggled to remember anything from her existence, the more it felt like a time bomb was ticking in her head and would explode the harder she tried.

Without a word from him, he just walked over and pulled out a key from his pocket which he used in unlocking the chains that strapped her.

"Am I been set free?" That was the only question that could pop out of her mouth and though her intuition kept screaming at her that, that was the lamest question that could proceed out of her mouth....she asked anyways.

"You wish." He scoffed rolling his eyes.

"Well, can any of you explain what's going on and stop acting like you're mute when you are entirely capable of making actual sentences?" Carly shrieked and the man stopped unlocking the chains for a second and used the pause to give Carly a thoughtful stare before resuming what h was doing before.

Carly then resolved that trying to strike up any conversation with any of the men was a total waste of time as they were probably going to act just the same way and she was tired of wasting her saliva on them.

"If you want to save yourself, Carly...the best you can do is to stay mute once you get outside there. Do as you're told and don't say a word. And oops...before I forget, don't look at the leader in his eyes." He adviced as he unlocked the chains and loosened them, helping me stand up.

"Well then, how do I know the leader when I see him and why should I stay mute?" Carly asked staring at him.

A light bulb had finally shone in her mind that he might be an accessible person that would explain what was going on here and why she was held hostage.

And maybe, he could help her escape from wherever this is if it was an absolute hellhole though she had the feeling that a hell hole was the absolute definition of this place.

"You would know the leader when you see Carly." The man answered as he led her out.

Those tattoos? They sent shivers down her spine.

But when she walked right out the door, she felt like fainting when her eyes met him.
