CHAPTER 68
CHAPTER 68
MARISSA'S POV
After Raul left with Benjamin, I slumped back into the chair, my mind a whirlwind of thoughts and worries. I understood Raul's point of not taking me to the meeting but I really wanted to be there, because I'm the reason why they got involved with Damien, I'm the reason everything is happening
As I tried to calm myself, a vision suddenly flashed before my eyes. I saw a part of the pack getting bombed, people screaming and injured, chaos everywhere. I gasped as the vision ended, my heart racing.
From the looks of it, it looked like something that would be happening any time soon and I knew I needed to act fast.
"We need to get there before it happens, Chari. We need to help the pack members out of there," I said and she agreed with me, but the issue is that I had no idea of the specific location.
“I can't pick out the particular place from the vision, it wasn't very clear,” I mumbled, biting my finger.
Chari's voice interrupted my frantic thoughts. "I think I've seen something similar to that place when you went shopping with Sabrina one time. Let's get going. I'll show you the route to follow," she said urgently.
I nodded, and quickly stood up, my heart pounding.
I needed to inform Raul so that he could send him men. I needed all the hands I could get because the place looked busy with people from my vision.
I tried to reach out to him through the mind link, there was no response. I tried again but there was still no response. Maybe he must already be in the meeting and have blocked the connection, I thought. There was no time to waste, so I stopped trying.
I rushed out of the house, following Chari's directions. My feet pounded the ground as I sprinted towards the location from my vision.
Just as I was close to the area, a deafening explosion shook the ground, the force of the blast throwing me off balance. I stumbled, barely managing to stay on my feet.
I steadied myself and quickly ran to the source of the explosion. The sight that met my eyes made my heart sink. Buildings were in ruins, debris scattered everywhere, and injured pack members were crying out for help.
The smell of smoke and the sound of desperate cries filled the air. I stared around, my breathing choking me.
“What is it, Marissa? Get yourself together, a lot of people need your help,” Chari voice said in my head and I held my chest, breathing in and out.
I quickly composed myself and rushed to the nearest injured pack members, helping them to a safe shade.
I was battling with who to help first, my heart breaking at the sight of so many in need. Just then, Raul arrived, his eyes wide with confusion and horror as he took in the scene.
"Raul!" I called out, waving him over. "Call for medical help! There are many injured people who need care,” I explained, helping an older man up.
He nodded, masking off the uneasy look on his face. He pulled out his phone and started making calls while helping those he could reach.
I continued to assist the injured, my heart aching with every cry of pain I heard. The devastation was overwhelming, but I couldn't let it paralyze me. There were too many lives at stake.
Raul ended the call and we worked together to help the pack members.
As we worked, I couldn't help but think if Damien was behind this attack, maybe he is taking revenge for his lost men.
The medical team finally arrived and began to treat the people, but the number of injured was overwhelming.
Desperation gnawed at me as I watched them struggle to tend to everyone. I knew I had to do something more but didn't know what. I thought for a while before an idea popped in my mind.
"Chari, remember I had healed two warriors when I had gone on a mission,” I let out and she hummed in reply and I continued.
“I want to heal these people with my power, but I don't remember how to do it," I called out in my mind, frustration edging my voice.
"I also don’t know how you did it, you uncovered that part of you yourself. Just trust yourself and let your heart lead you," Chari responded gently.
I took a deep breath, trying to center myself. I moved towards a child lying on the ground, a deep gash on his leg. He looked up at me with wide, frightened eyes.
"It's going to be okay. Trust me," I whispered, placing my hand gently over his wound. I closed my eyes, focusing on the warmth and compassion I felt for him.
A glow began to emanate from my palm, and I felt the energy flowing through me. When I opened my eyes, the wound was gone, healed as if it had never been there.
"Thank you!" the boy cried, his face lighting up with a smile before he ran off to find his family.
Seeing the joy and relief on his face filled me with a new strength . I moved from person to person, healing their injuries.
The glow from my hands seemed to grow stronger with each successful healing. People around me began to notice, their eyes widening in amazement and gratitude.
“Everyone look at our Luna. She's healing them!" someone shouted.
A woman with a broken arm approached me hesitantly. "Please, can you help me too?”
"Of course," I said, gently placing my hands on her arm. The familiar glow appeared, and within moments, her arm was healed.
She gasped in disbelief, tears streaming down her face as she thanked me profusely.
I continued to move through the crowd, healing as many as I could. The process was draining, but I pushed through, driven by the need to help my pack. Each healed person gave me more strength to keep going.
As I worked, I noticed Raul working with the medical team, and I smiled at how focused he looked. His eyes met mine, and I could see the pride and gratitude in his gaze. It just nodded at him and continued with what I was doing.
After what felt like hours, the injured were finally tended to. I collapsed to my knees, exhaustion washing over me. Raul rushed over, kneeling beside me and placing a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"You did incredible, Marissa," He said, his voice filled with admiration. "You saved so many lives today."
"I just did what I had to do," I replied, my voice trembling with exhaustion and emotion.
He helped me to my feet, supporting me as we made our way back to the house.
He helped me into bed, stroking my hair gently.
“I have to head to the meeting room as I have kept the elders waiting. I'll be back as soon as I can,” I heard him say before I drifted into slumber.
