Chapter 94

Chapter 94

My head rings at the words that came out of his lips. Eyes darting around to see if my uncle, Deimos, is still hanging around somewhere.

But he is gone.

I turn around, staring at Hugo who seems to be calming down as he can no longer see my uncle.

“What is wrong?” I turn to the girl, and ask.

She shakes her head as if trying to get rid of a bad memory, “How. Did. He. Die?” I growl, my voice so low, but the venom still slips through.

She can sense my growing anger, growing pain as I glare at her on the verge of snapping her neck into two.

I need to know. My hands are trembling as I can't seem to breathe properly.

My eyes turn blurry as an unexplainable feeling rises up in my chest, clawing, burning, and ripping me to pieces.

Please no. I can't take this anymore.

Why me? Tears stings my eyes as I try to force them back.

Why do the people meant to love me want me dead?

All because of some stupid curse, all because they want something I hate.

If I could I would give them, I would give it to them. I just want my family to love me.

Am I nothing, but my powers? Is it so important that they would do anything to kill their flesh and blood?

My heart palpitates as my breathing refuses to go down.

“Mel!!” I can hear their voices, but they feel so distant.

So far away yet all I want to do is to succumb into that darkness. Into that pit that has been dragging me down since my Macho died.

Maybe if I died they would stop, maybe my existence brings just pain, and nothing else.

Strong arms wrap around me as the scent I am so addicted to floods my entire system.

Bion.

Suddenly peace washes over me, and I don't feel so hollow anymore. I don't feel that crawling feeling lodged in my bones.

His warmth circulates my system until all I can feel, see, breathe, smell, and touch is him.

“Are you okay sweetheart?” he murmurs into my ears, running his fingers all over my body.

I lean further into his embrace as a small smile ghosts my lips.

At least I know he would burn down the world for me. I know that he won't let anything horrible happen to me.

My mate.

Mine.

“I am not okay.” I murmur, answering his questions as tears pours down my eyes.

His hands go under my knees as the other one stays placed under my shoulder.

Before I can ask what he is doing, he is lifting me up in a bridal style, and stalks towards a room.

The girl is right behind us as Tios places a hand over her shoulder.

The door to our room slides open as he walks past it, placing me on the bed.

“Are you okay?” he asks again, sitting by my side.

His gaze burns through me, causing me to say the truth.

“Hugo appeared to me again-” my words hung in my throat as the room door burst open.

Zara, Kim, Aiden, Sky, Kelvin, Kevin, Sabrina, and Julie rush in.

“Are you okay?”

“What happened?”

“We heard you almost passed out?”

“Can't you just speak?”

Their voices stumble over each other as they all ask questions at a time.

“Guys!!!” Bion's voice thunders, causing the whole room to fall in deep silence.

“Let her speak.” he growls, his eyes brimming as he dares anyone to speak again.

“I started seeing this ghost sometime back, his name is Hugo.” I start, feeling safe enough to tell them about the new information.

Their eyes widen when I am done telling them everything.

Z, and Kim steps forward, wrapping their arms around me in a warm embrace. The tears start like waterworks as I cry into their shoulders.

“I am so sorry Hugo.” I gasp, tears running down my eyes as I try to stay together.

“It's okay.” he murmurs, a sad smile gracing his lips.

“Is he here?” the lady with Tios asks me, a small tremble making their way towards her body.

“Yes he is. He is standing in front of you now.” I respond, watching as Hugo steps in front of her.

“Oh Hugo! I missed you so much.” she cries out, tears running down her cheeks.

Everyone is a mess as they mull over the newfound information.

“What are we going to do Mel?” Z asks, tucking a strand away from my eyes.

“How did Hugo die?” I ask her slowly, she raises her head, shakes them.

“We don't know. We just found him in his room covered in blood from his head to his toe.

How could he do this to us? Hugo loved his uncle so much. He would rather spend time with them or me.

The one person he loved with all his heart turned around, and killed him.” she gasps, her face turning teary again.

“How do we stop him?” Kevin asks, taking a step forward.

“Hugo said to run!” I relay his words to everyone who snaps their head to look at me.

I know.

Usually I want to fight. I want to take revenge, I want to rip his blood, and drink for dinner.

“We can't do that. If we do, his death will be in vain. If you leave that would mean he would be crowned the grand King.” she explains, pressing on.

“What if I don't don't want to be a Grand Queen? What if I just want a simple life where I can be happy and return back to school? ” I ask, cracking my nails.

“Is that what you want?” Z asks, eyes twinkling as she expects a reply.

Do I really want that?

“No, not really. I know I am not the best candidate, but I will do my damn best. I was born for this.” I growl, closing my eyes.

“We just have to find a way to make the throne mine.” I murmur.

“First you have to think of your life. He will come for you Mel, there is no escaping it. When you least expect it.” Hugo warns again.

This time I won't take it playfully. This time I will listen, and watch my back.

I have lost too much here.

No more. It's time I decide what happens next.

Knock.

Kelvin moves to
wards the door with the aim of opening it when Hugo screams.

“Don't do it!!!”

I lunge forward shouting, “Back away, Kelvin!!”

But it's too late.
