Chapter 82
Chapter 82
Melanie.
My heart drops to the pit of my stomach, this can't be happening. It isn't true, it's not true.
I didn't see well, I saw nothing that was true. My feet automatically flings over the edge of the bed, and I jump down not minding that the bed is high.
I hear a small crack, but I don't dare stop as I dash out of the room heading straight to the field.
My heart is pounding, feet slapping against the hard floor, but I don't care. I have been through hell, so a hard floor is nothing.
Blood rushes to my ears as I push faster, run faster. I can literally hear my heart beating in my ear.
He warned me.
He warned me.
Yet I didn't listen, I was so sucked up in my own grief, so selfish I didn't listen. I didn't go to help the fight even after he told me.
“Blood shall spill if you do not help. The innocent shall die if you do not intervene.” Hugo’s voice pierces through my ears
I huffed, and turned away.
“I am so tired.” I groaned.
He fucking told me, he warned me yet all I did was to huff.
A sick disgusting feeling rises up in me, it claws at my heart shredding it to pieces without care.
Guilt.
Under my feet starts bleeding—- as I am now on the rough grounds of the field— but I don't care. I dash forward, racing to my friends, my family.
My steps halter. I am too late. Macho’s head laid lifelessly at an ashen looking Zara's feet.
A soldier crawls up behind her, raising his sword to slice her head.
I don't think, I just scream loudly pushing my hands forward. The waves of the sound moves in a particular motion bursting his brains out.
Blood, and flesh splatter around. Most of them landing on a dazed Zara.
I push my hands forward, my lips muttering some words on its own.
All the different clans of soldiers started gravitating towards Zara including my friends. Once they are all in the same place, I raise my hands up in the air.
An invisible shield covers them up. My eyes twitch as I turn back to the arcindians.
A familiar feeling claws at me, fighting to come out. I don't resist, I don't fight. I just let go.
I will burn every fucking arcindians to the ground. They touch my family, they touch me.
Every single one of them will beg for mercy yet I won't stop, I won't relent. I won't show mercy.
Every one of their kind will die. Today!!!
My feet lift off the ground, my hair fans out as my eyes go dark.
A rumble of laugh fills the air as my claws fan out.
“Your highness, let us discuss this matter. In all sincerity I just want the girl. No abomination is allowed to live." Their stupid Kukukan has the audacity to speak.
My eyes turned impossibly darker as my lips carves into a fucking smile, “You will all die. Even if you run, I will find you. No matter where you go I will find you be it under the fucking ground. I will find you.
If you die without my permission, I will dig out your grave, bring you to life, and kill you in a more terrible manner.” my voice is icy, my hands tremble.
Rage blinds me, and for once I have never been so happy to be blinded.
They killed Macho. All of them deserve to die, and they will.
My fury burns brighter as I remember all the times he joked with me or when he bought me lunch when I didn't want to go to the cafeteria.
When he found a way to bring an innocent soul back from hell, how he found me in a fucking freeze state.
If it wasn't for him I would be frozen by now. The times I lost control— when we first met— because he showed me fire, and I ended up throwing him against the wall.
Or when my lion made a force shift and he let me beat the crap out of him to calm down.
The memories are like fuel to my rage. An anguish called roar tears out of my lips as angry tears pour down my cheeks.
“Your highness please.” The Kukukan voice is a distant memory as I sling forward.
Dozens of soldiers lung forward in a measly aim of protecting their king.
I grab a heart out of a chest—I don't know the owner, I don't care– throwing it into my mouth and started chewing.
Moving further, my hair grows longer. I whip it forward, using it to strangle a soldier as I claws out another's eyeballs.
It feels good. More than good,it feels fucking amazing.
And so it continued. I killed, and killed until my form could barely be recognised as I was covered in countless bloods.
I attack my next victim, my hand going straight into his belly. I close my eyes, tight my fists as fire bursts out of my hands burning the bastard from inside out.
It hurts so bad, I should know Kalav has done it to me.
The only downside is I let him die.
The arcindians begin retreating, all of them scrambling about as they struggle to run away from me.
I don't chase them, I just stand and watch with eerily satisfaction because I know they are all dead.
I was serious.
I will find them all, one by one, and kill them all. No mercy.
No one will live.
I run back to my friends, my body cleans off itself. The soldiers parted ways for me, all of them staring at me in disbelief.
That is the least of my worries.
My friends are gathered around Macho’s dead body, Zara is still standing as I last saw her.
I walk closer to her. The next words that come out of her mouth tears my heart.
“It's all my fault. He tr–ied t–o sa–ve and–”
I shut her up with a bone crushing hug, smoothing her back with my palm.
Tios looks pale, paler than he normally does. That's his brother, his brother.
My blood boils, they will all die.
Callisto is beside him shedding tears of pain. I should console her or Tios, but my feet can't seem to move.
Maybe just maybe it's because I understand Zara, because I feel the same way.
“It's not your fault.” I assure her, rocking her.
It's mine.
I don't dare say that out loud, scared that they would hate me. I would lose them if I told them.
She hiccups, her eyes pouring loads of tears, “ It is. I froze, I just stood.” she murmurs.
Her breath hangs then she bursts open, a heart gutting sound leaves her throat followed with tears.
It takes a second to realize that Z is actually crying loudly.
She taps my back as sobs upon sobs rake her body. My eyes water too, the tears rolling down as I cry deeply.
“Come back please.” she murmurs, her breaths shaking, breaking.
“I c–an–t can't. I can't breathe.” she gasps, her hand falls lax around me as her breath hitch up.
“What's wrong?” I panic.
It's only then I feel the liquid pouring out of her belly, my
palm clasp tightly around the open flesh I aim to stop the blood.
But it's too late, she falls down in my arms. Her eyes fell close.
“ZARA!!!”
