**3rd Person POV**
Irvette had not been to such a meeting in a very long time. Even while her father had been alive she had not been allowed to participate in such sensitive affairs. She had a bright smile on her face as she walked towards the carriage prepared to take her home.
She had liked being a princess and now she enjoyed being Queen.
She was also beginning to think that the world did stand a chance against George. From the discussions today, it felt possible that they could defeat George. She was relieved to know that this was possible; she did not want her son to grow up in a world with her father in it.
A shudder passed through her body at the thought of her father demanding her son for more power. She knew one thing though, he would have to kill her before he could touch her son.
She entered her carriage, took a deep breath in and shut her eyes. She needed to get some sleep as the past few weeks had been hectic. It was a lot of work that her father had left her. Harlin had been trying to make things look good for the pack but he had died before he could achieve anything significant.
“Don't you miss me?” she heard someone whisper into her ears which was strange considering the fact that she was alone.
“You haven't been getting a lot of sleep, huh?” this time Irvette opened her eyes and what she saw made her open her mouth to scream. No sound would come out however because a rag cloth was stuffed into her mouth.
“You will not make a sound, do you understand?” quipped George in a voice that was threatening.
Irvette nodded her head in fear. George removed the cloth from her mouth but the moment he did, Irvette opened her mouth to scream. George was quick, he placed a hand over her mouth. She tried to bite his palm but he was just too strong for her. Knowing that she stood no chance against him, her body sagged in defeat.
George placed a finger on his lips and then moved the same finger to her neck signalling that if she was not quiet he would end her life. She nodded her head to show that she understood what he meant by that.
“Ready to have a civil conversation now?” questioned George as he slowly released her mouth. Irvette considered screaming but reconsidered when George placed a gun at the base of her temple.
“If you speak loudly or try to scream for help, little Harlin will never see mummy again. Now, wouldn't that be sad? Although he has grandpa,” the evil smile that stretched on George's lips made Irvette burst into tears. She thought of Harlin's Gorgeous eyes, she could not die now. She had to at least undo the damage she had done by helping George in the first place or at least try dying.
“Shhh… Shh… Let's keep this quiet okay? So Harlin can have mummy's milk tonight,” whispered George as he brushed a strand of hair off her face. Irvette sobbed even harder; she remembered when she was little and George had pushed a strand of her hair away from her face and she had thought then that it was a loving gesture. She sobbed harder wondering what the hell went wrong. Was George always like this or was he possessed by something? What had happened to her loving father? Had it all been a lie?
“What do you want?” she finally mustered the courage to ask him.
“You locked me out of my own palace, took my throne and then proceeded to destroy all the work that I have done,” his voice was full of spite.
“The Elders… the Council of Elders, it was… it was them. They did the palace… they locked it from…” Irvette was shaking.
“How convenient, Irvette, that just right after I had spoken to you and mentioned your unborn child, I no longer have access to my palace,” replied George.
Irvette was wishing there was a way to lock him out of the world entirely.
“I swear… I did not. I did not…” Irvette continued with tears streaming down her face.
“Save it, Irvette. You want to tell me that you have not enjoyed playing Queen?” inquired George. Irvette chose quietness, she had no answer to give him.
“What about my work, huh? Those towns that were so perfectly built so that the people who lived there had their energies diverted to me and you go ahead and destroy all of that? To do what? To prove a point? To destroy me? Do you think that if I go down you will be safe?” George’s voice was rising as the anger worked him up.
“Your Majesty, are you alright back there?” shouted the driver in front. George pressed the gun on her skin.
“Yes, yes, I'm fine,” replied Irvette with the closest to a calm voice she could manage.
“Alright, ma’am.”
“Your Majesty?” George's voice was weighty with sarcasm.
“You will halt the pulling down of the towns at once,” said George.
“I I cannot… the… please please,” Irvette begged when she heard him remove the safety of the gun. She was not sobbing because she was afraid she would be heard but tears were pouring down her cheeks in torrents.
“Will you halt the plans to tear down the rest of the towns?” inquired George.
“I will do everything I can… so please, just please… please put the gun away,” she begged. George did not put down the gun, instead, she was rewarded with a grin from him.
Had she really killed her mother for this monster? When she had given her mother that poison, what had she been thinking? More tears poured from her eyes as the full impact of what she had done hit her.
“Now, let's discuss your newfound friendship with the cold princess… I mean the cold queen? What do people call her these days?”
